Not that great! I called her Mar 16, 2011 & she said she thought my mother should not live alone!!!! She even said "I thought that when I first got involved in her life a couple of years ago" - that's NOT what we talked about in 2008! Anyway, Wed she suggested I call the Alzheimers Assoc, which I did BUT they called DCF hotline & sent a female investigator to mom's house at 8:30 in the morning on Mar 17!!!!!!!! I did NOT authorize them to do that! Also, I had called them yesterday morning BEFORE Anita (DCF investigator) went out to PREVENT that from happening! Katherine told me about guardianship, how mom would be stripped of all her rights, she scared the h*** out of me! Because of her, we ALMOST had to have my dear beloved mom removed from her home! Anita told me there's no need to do anything right now. Also, Katherine said she was sorry about my Dad & when I asked her how she found out, she said "I read it in the paper." Too little too late!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: Needed home health services for my parents in 2008 - Dad died 2009 at age 94 & mom's 92, so in 2008 they were in their early 90s. Called Katherine & told her about Dad going to a rehab ctr due to sciatica. Asked her if she could send someone to look after mom. Neighborly Care Network got involved & on a Fri about 2 pm the social worker called to tell me he'd have to report mom to DCF & an investigator would go out & see if she was able to stay in the house alone while Dad went to rehab. Dad would be in rehab 2 wks - not as an outpatient, so she'd be alone. I called Katherine & she said Karen, don't worry. I know a man w/with Alzheimer's who lives alone & sometimes wanders down the street! She told me she'd call NCN & call off the investigator which she did. The social worker told me mom was showing signs of severe dementia, so.
