ON DISPLAY, We have the LARGEST Futon showroom in all of Tampa Bay. At our store, at least 50 styles of Futon frames in all five sizes and all finishes. We also have 15 futon mattress comfort levels ON DISPLAY so you can touch, sit and feel each mattress in our selection. We also offer thousands of futon cover choices so you can custom design your futon to your taste. Our inventory levels allow for same day deliveries on many items. I drove an hour and a half ONE WAY to Action Futon, and it was closed during business hours.:-( I left a message on the voicemail and the owner, Tim, called back with an apology the next day.Subsequently, I made the journey there again and received a good deal on a futon purchase. While I was there, I also purchased a bar stool and made the long trek home. After my daughter sat on the bar stool a couple of times the next day, I noticed it wasn't swiveling properly. After turning the stool upside down, I discovered it was missing a screw and bolt. Consequently, I had to make another 1 1/2 hour trip back to the store. I was then informed I could only receive store credit. I decided to buy a more expensive set of stools the 2nd time around. BIG mistake! Before leaving the store, I noticed one of the stools had a broken support beam underneath. Vinny told me he would order a replacement stool for the same price. I offered to pay for the set of bar stools up front, but Vinny insisted it was better to pay for the replacement stool after it arrived. One MONTH later, Vinny finally called to say the replacement stool had arrived. When I drove to Clearwater AGAIN, Action Futon raised the cost by $35!!!!!! When I produced my receipt to show the price I paid for the matching stool in the set, Tim and Vinny refused to honor the stated and written price. I refused to make the purchase due to the significant price increase and their lack of integrity. Now, I'm stuck with almost $90 in store credit I may never be able to use. I am extremely disappointed with the unethical practices of this business, and the poor quality of the bar stools. I'm very sorry that I wasted four round-trips travelling to Action Futon. I was trying to support a locally and family-owned business, and it backfired. Next time, I will save my gas, money, and time. I will shop online, pay a much lower price, and have the merchandise delivered to my doorstep. I suggest that you do the same. CONCLUSION: Good place to buy futons. Terrible place to buy bar stools. Awful place to resolve issues fairly amd with integrity. BE AWARE: Action Futons will not refund your money, even if the product is damaged or defective.

"Due to a family emergency, the day in question I closed 30 minutes earlier than our normal closing time. I spoke to the customer the following day and apologized and explained what had happened and that for the drive back over to the store I would make it up by giving her a mattress discounted below my cost. She also purchased a floor model bar stool for below my cost. As for the missing bolt, it could have come out during transit. I told her I would exchange it for another. When she came back she chose different and more expensive stools that I was closing out. Since they were closeouts we again gave her the stools at a price well below our cost. Since one stool turned out to have a broken seat bracket we told her we could order her another one but it would be a higher price. These stools can only be ordered in pairs, so I went to further expense to accommodate her by special ordering two chairs when she only needed one additional chair. She now refuses to pay for the additional chair I special ordered for her and also wants a refund for the bar stool that is not defective. Because we are a specialty store and most all our products are custom ordered for the customer, our store policy, which is posted in our store and on all invoices states “ALL SALES FINAL , NO REFUNDS, STORE CREDIT ONLY”. We put this policy in place for good reason so that customers can’t take advantage of custom ordering products and then want to cancel. These products cannot be returned to our suppliers."

We needed a well made mattress that was firm for a futon. Tim took his time and explained everything and gave many options and choices. We were impressed with his knowledge about mattresses. We purchased the recommended mattress (for a bad back).
Tim was very right about the comfort of the mattress! It is the most well made mattress for a futon we have ever seen. We went back the next day and purchased the futon frame which was actually made in the USA. Very sturdy frame. He was very helpful and a wonderful listener. He was not a pushy salesperson. The showroom was neat, very clean and well organized. Wonderful experience will go back again.
