We had never lived in Florida before and wanted to find an energetic and ethical realtor to help us get to know the area, help us understand issues with purchasing a home on the water, and help us find our dream home. We had limited time during 2 visits to Florida, and we had a lengthy list of requirements! In addition, we were busy searching for a high school for our son and we also needed to find an annual, unfurnished rental for my mother. We primarily worked with Cyndee in reviewing requirements/wants across the miles, setting up our schedule, discussing budget and purchase process. During our first trip, we saw as many homes as time allowed! Cyndee is tireless in her pursuit of the right home, whether searching out houses still under construction or listings that haven't yet reached the market. We had very long days looking, but we were much more educated by the time our first trip ended. Cyndee was especially helpful at knowing which areas would have a deep-water dock vs. the MLS write-ups that actually claimed to have a deep-water dock. By the time of our second trip, we were much more comfortable with the market and a full 3-days of house-hunting found us our perfect home!
That was just the beginning as we had to negotiate with a difficult seller. Cyndee offered useful negotiation strategies and she was very forthcoming with comps and thoughts on appropriate price to pay. She had the tenacity to follow through on all aspects of the negotiation, and was skilled in getting along with the seller's realtor to sort through some of the issues. We were able to reach an agreement, and then Cyndee was very helpful in recommending a real estate attorney, insurance agent, inspectors for the house, dock, and seawall. She and Jack were both present during the inspection. We then had to negotiate concessions based on inspection issues, and Cyndee remained interested and energetic at resolving all aspects of the sale.
We signed the papers remotely from CA and Cyndee represented us at closing. We obviously trusted Cyndee to do this on our behalf, and everything went very smoothly. Cyndee managed the house for us until we arrived - checking to make sure all the doors were locked, setting the air conditioning at 80 degrees, etc. Cyndee stayed in close contact through our drive to FL, and met us upon our arrival on a Sunday night to give us the keys. She then dropped by a few days later to make sure we were settling in well and to offer support and encouragement. She has been a great source of information on restaurants, local events, nearby neighbors she can introduce us to, etc.
Cyndee is energetic, thoughtful, ethical, practical, friendly, knowledgeable, and steadfast. She is very likeable! She made the house-hunting process fun and exciting, and we feel like we were treated wonderfully. I recommend Cyndee without hesitation as an excellent realtor.
