Man, were do I start. If you want poor customer service, arrogance, and a general bad attitude, go ahead and hire Vitralum Glass Solutions. If you want somebody that makes a mistake in workmanship but does not own up to it and blames the customer, go ahead and hire Vitralum.
Here's the story:
The guy remodeling my bathroom procured the services of Vitralum to install the shower glass. They came out and measured the area and asked me how tall I wanted the glass. I said something like "make it a standard height," whatever. They said 76 or 79 inches is typical and I said somehting like "ok, do 79 then." Well now, after installation, the door is too high and hits a nearby ceiling beam when you open it. Of course I did not want to pay the remaning balance until they fix it and they proceed to stonewall me with "you signed a contract" and "you made a special request for that height". I didn't. I simply went along with whatever their recommendations were.
It's been several days of back and forth with the guy that came out to measure (Jared) digging-in by constantly referring to the contract and that I'm the one that made the mistake. I am not the glass professional. It is their job to make sure the glass fits in the space, not mine. And as far as the contract goes, I guess they see it as a one-sided deal: I need to fulfill my contactual committment by paying, but they do not need to provide a glass shower enclosure that fits in the space. Good deal for them I guess. There's not an "I'm sorry" or "let's find an accpetable solution for the mistake we made."
Hopefully somebody reads my review and thinks twice about hiring Vitralum.
"Unfortunately, this customer, is not being honest in his complaint and up to this day he has not paid what he owes us even when he has received 100% of the work and we tried to resolve the issue. In our opinion he was looking for an excuse not to pay the remaining balance he owed because he was selling the house. At the time of ordering the customer asked for a specific height and fixtures and that is what we sold him. We do custom work and we cut glass as per the customer's specifications we do not sell standard. He had the description and features of the shower he ordered in writing and he signed and paid a deposit for it. At the time we installed the shower there was indeed a problem in which the glass door could not swing at 100% of its capacity when swinging out, but there was no problem swinging in. The fact that the door could not open at its full capacity did not make the shower any less accessible, less useful, dangerous, less attractive or of less quality. The customer expressed his dissatisfaction and we told him that we supplied exactly what he ordered. Of course the customer did not accept that he had made an error while ordering and wanted to shift the responsibility towards our company. Because we care about customer satisfaction even when the customer makes an error we tried to resolve the issue but unfortunately the customer did not answer our phone calls, he directed all conversation to his wife which was the person to contact from that time forward. We offered several options to resolve the issue but none were satisfactory and the customer did not return any phone calls until the day this complaint was filed. We are in agreement to change all the glass to a lower height in order to give the door its full swinging capacity with the understanding that the customer still needs to pay the remaining balance of the order. We hope that the customer will contact us to resolve the issue. Thank you. Vitralum Glass Solutions Inc"
