First: The quality and professionalism of Safescan Technologies is mediocre at best. While doing the inspection (Scott my inspector) went into the attic of my soon to be new home. One of the entries into the attic is inside one of the walk in closets. Somehow Scott knocked a bunch of the insulation out of the attic and onto the closet floor. And he never even put back the attic cover. To make matters worst he tracked insulation throughout the house. My wife and i was busy going through the house to get a feel for our new home so we didnt see this all occur. When we got to the master bedroom we noticed this pile of Insulation in the walkin closet. Because the Seller was in the process of moving that day we thought he was moving something from the attic was why all that Insulation was in the closet.
Second: Scott the inspector found a leak from the jet tub in the Master Bedroom. When he energized the Jets water shot out from the PVC pipes leading to the jets. This left a pool of water under the sink wetting the Sellers items under the sink. The inspector left the water there. on Monday Dec 3rd We received a call from the Seller's Realtor notifying us of the that Seller was very upset that his home was trashed and left for him to clean up.
Third: I called Jered the owner of Safescan Technologies and tolded him what happen and that the home owner was very upset to come home and find his beautiful home trashed with Insulation and water under his sink wetting his things. The response i got from Jered the owner of was shocking. He told me, and i Quote: Jered said all the homeowner had to do was Vacumn it up. Then he said the homeowner is probaly just upset that he is losing his home End Quote. I was shocked to hear this coming from someone who I PAID TO DO A JOB. If you are looking for home inspectors that do the job right and clean up there messes look to another company. Thanks Jered for a LOUSY JOB AND WORST RESPONSE.
I gave punctuality a C because he called on Wednesday to ask if we were all set for Thrusday. The appointment was on Friday at 3:00. He called on Friday at 2:00 with a "where are you?" -- when I stated that the appointment was for 3:00, he argued that it was for 2:00.
When I arrived, I asked if he had done the outside yet and he said "yes." I asked, "everything ok with it?" he said "yes". I said, "what about the rotted facing?" He said, "where? show me?". I showed him the rotted fascia and he broke off a piece with his hand and said, "oh, yeah, that needs to be replaced." I kind of thought he was supposed to show that kind of thing to me.... not the other way around.
He went around the rest of the home and took pictures, and did point out a water stain I had not noticed.
The report received from the mold and general inspection was professional and neat.
In general, the inspection was quick but didn't seem as thorough as I would expect. Having to point out things to the inspector did not leave me with a good feeling.
"Since this inspection we have improved our company with electronic scheduling software. Wood rot or any othe WDO was handled when the customer orders a WDO inspection report. The mentioned wood rot is identified from the temrite WDO inspector and was outlined in the report."
