Did not charge for diagnostics, over all experience was great (aside from our dying car, but that wasn't their fault, don't shoot the messenger!), when it's time for a new engine, plan to return here, thanks guys!

I have lived here for 35 years and Mechanic Plus is the best mechanic in Orlando. Scott the manager picks up my calls every time I call and answers all my questions no matter how dumb they are. The service was prompt, right on time, inexpensive, and he goes out of his way to charge you less. (did some things for free)

I was impressed that MechanicsPlus spent some time figuring out exactly what the problem was. The car would start when they did one test, but it wouldn't start when they tried another test. It turned out to be the pins on the clutch assembly. I felt they were very honest and their price was very reasonable. I am definitely going to use them again. It couldn't have gone smoother. Sometimes women get taken advantage of when it comes to car repairs, but not here. I was very impressed with their service and repair job. They will also send you an email reminder of when your car is due for maintenance. Also, a very nice service to have.

The experience overall was great! We brought our Bronco in to get the brakes checked and the steering. They found the problems fast and gave us a very reasonable quote that included a one year warranty! While working on the Bronco, due to rust and age problems, it took longer to repair. Mechanics plus did not charge me the extra labor costs, instead they stuck to their original quote. I would go back to this garage again and again, they do great work, stand by that work, and stick to there quotes!

It is the best mechanic shop I have ever been to. That says a lot for me, since I am new to the area. I spoke to them for about 20 minutes. They were good guys. They explained the business model and how they gave me best price.

Arrived at the shop around 8:00 AM, spoke to the mechanics and what I observed (Battery discharge light on, strange whine while running, etc.) . They quickly got to work on diagnosing my car, suggested some places in the area for breakfast, etc. Within 1 hour (closer to 35 - 40 minutes) I receive a call and they gave me the diagnosis - Bad Alternator. Relayed the price of the repair for the alternator. Once I got back to the office, they showed me where my water pump had a slow leak. I was a little surprised as I had that replaced just 8 months ago. They recommended calling the repair shop to see if it was under warranty. Long story short, the part was, the labor wasn't. They asked if I would like it replaced (since it was only a slow leak at this point) and gave me the total cost. I really appreciate them being honest and giving me the option vs. pushing a recommendation on me. In the end, I had them both replaced (water pump & alternator) as it was better to get it done now vs. later. Best of all their work and part are under under warranty for 12 months. All in all a great experience with honest mechanics who really know how to treat their customers. I was in the shop by 8 and out by 11 and on my way. Looks like I found a new mechanic that is convenient to my home and that I feel comfortable bringing my vehicles to. Thanks for all your help!

The service was great. I appreciate the honesty and punctuality of the team at Mechanics Plus. We had the car back, fully fixed, within 24 hours. The car now runs better than it ever has, stops on a dime and blows ice cold air. I'd highly recommend these to anyone, and I'll surely let all of my friends know!

The entire bill was just $150 over what a competitor priced for the stud and lug alone. Scott "under-promised and over-delivered" with the time it would take and the cost of the repairs.

EXCELLENT..they accurately diagnosed an issue that saved me $1600. The seem honest and capable. It's hard to find a good, reliable mechanic, so I will definitely be back!!

My son's car broke down and we towed it to a nearby Toyota dealer and was told that we had a damaged clutch that might affect the transmission and that it's not covered under our warranty because it's a wear and tear item. It was going to cost us over $2500 to fix it, so they recommend us to trade in and buy a new one. Being a woman with five kids and a husband who is serving in Afghan right now, I thought they would be nice and give me a good deal. Well, we wasted a whole day over at the dealer haggling over the price and learned our lesson to never go to the dealer or trust their words for anything and always get a second opinion.That's what we did! I got my brother to call the dealer and asked them what's exactly wrong with the car because they said it would break down again in two or more months so fixing it would be a waste more money and that we'd be better off buying a new car (which will cost us $32000 for 2012 Toyota Camry LE) That's when they told him that it was only the clutch that was affected, but because my son learned how to drive with this car, he kind of broke it badly and the whole thing needed to be replace. If the dealer has told us that and given us a good price less than $2000, we would have stayed with them, but they just lied and tried to scare us. So, I logged onto Angie's List and researched for an Auto shop in Orlando since we live in Green Cove Springs, but my son goes to UCF. I read the review and found Mechanic Plus. I have to say that it's all true what the other reviewers have said about Mechanic Plus. The people were very nice and helpful, the price is fair and Mr. Bill treated his customers like a family. He set aside a time during his lunch break to take my son out for a drive after the car got fix and showed him how to handle the clutch and what signs to look for if something's wrong. I had a great experience and definitely will go back there again.

The staff I was in contact with were knowledgeable and friendly. The estimates were clearly given. Important to me - was treated as a valuable customer, not a dumb broad driving a 13 year old car

I scheduled an appointment online with a coupon through Angie's List. When I took my vehicle in, the employees were ready for it and took it right away. When unaccompanied by a male, I have found most previous encounters with auto mechanics to be filled with threats about what harm will come to my vehicle if I do not follow their costly "professional" advice about things I did not bring my vehicle in for. I certainly did not experience that at Mechanics Plus! What a pleasure! I was treated as if I did, indeed, have a brain and was talked to with respect. They did not try to "con" me into unnecessary procedures that other mechanics have sworn were needed and demanded for continued warranty. They did not inform or imply that I would be "risking my safety or any one else's" by not doing some procedure. This, by far, was the most pleasant encounter with auto mechanics that I have ever had! I was told exactly what to expect in the future from my vehicle and I did not get that feeling that lining their pockets was really their main goal in life. I felt that they were there to meet my routine maintenance needs today, but would also be there to meet my future needs without making up unnecessary charges and false repairs. I believe them to be knowledgeable and trustworthy. I would refer my best friend there in a heartbeat. I cannot think of anything more that you could expect from your auto mechanic. Even though I had a coupon through Angie's List, I felt that their level of service was a standard, rather than a "special event" just to get people in the door.

This experience was very pleasant. My girlfriend and I went up there to get my oil changed before a Radiohead concert that evening (it was awesome). The man at the counter was very helpful and even gave us some suggestions for nearby places that delivered lunch. We had lots of funny banter, something I value highly. There was some issue with the coupon/deal from Angie's List because the manager at the shop said they had stopped issuing/accepting the promotion. I guess Angie's List still had it on offer after the shop wanted it over. Nonetheless, the guys accepted the coupon and went to work. The job was done very quickly. I liked the place just fine.

I brought my car in for an estimate, they were able to do this and have my car fixed by lunchtime. I was even given a ride to my home while the work was being done.

Excellent expereince. Went in, reported our difficulty, got an estimate, left the car and came back three hours later, picked up the repaired car and went happily on my way. How can it get any better?

Everything has been great for five years. Never a long wait, maintenance is thorough, and repairs are complete and fairly priced.

I needed to get my MAJOR Service for my 2008 Honda Accord V6. That is timing belt, drive belt, spark plugs, tensioner, and water pump. When I contacted the dealer I had used all the time they wanted over $1,700. I got on Angie's List and looked up Auto Mechanics and found 3 in my area. I got quotes from all of them. Bill asked me to bring my car in and got it in right away for a FREE estimate. He said I would like to do your car today?but you have a 2-3,000 miles before it really needs it?when you are ready give me a call. Said my car looked good and that it only needed the service. He also suggested replacing seals and gaskets and a couple other items that would help lengthen the life of my car. His estimate was $900 (give or take $50). He said when I was ready if I came by at 7AM they would drop me at my office (about 8 miles away) and have the car ready by 3:30PM. So I took my car in today (3 weeks after my estimate) and got the ride to work in the AM. Sure enough at 3:24PM they called and said the car was done. My final price was $937 (tax brought it up to $1,000). When I looked over the final receipt I noticed they did a full tune up and replaced the air filter and Coolant; all things we did not discuss and he came in where his estimate said it would be. Bill and his staff are kind courteous and genuinely good people. Bill?s estimate was lower than the other 2 establishments I found on Angie?s list by $400 and $800. My Dad always said ?You need to have a mechanic you can trust?. Well I found mine in Bill Allen and his staff at Mechanics Plus. Probably the most pleasurable auto service I have ever had. Thanks Bill!!!!!

The front of car engine was squeeling loudly. Went to Mechanics Plus (first time) and talked to Scott. He gave me an estimate within a hour and the repairs were completed in a few hours as promised.

Bill and his crew did a great job on my vehicle. Bill is the owner and is a wonderful person to do business with. He is very professional and curtious as is his employees. Which by the way, have been with him for a number of years. There all well qualified in all phases of vehicle maintenance and did a wonderful job on my 99' Acura. Estimates are acurate, so you can expect no outragious differences in pricing when you pick up your vehicle. I would definately recommend Mechanics Plus to you and all my friends for all there vehicle maintenance needs.

I took my beautiful 2000 Pontiac Firebird in for service at Mechanics Plus due to a serious lack of power. Car was chugging along and would not accelerate without a fight. As my mechanic of 15 years or so was well over 20-30 minutes away in Apopka (Russell Automotive) I was seriously concerned I would have an accident with the condition of my car. I saw Mechanics Plus on the right hand side 3 minutes from my house I thought "what could possibly go wrong just this once?" Well, first I'm told I need a major tune up at $425.00. I also decided to just get the oil changed while I had the car there. After I agreed to the repair I then get a call that says the catalytic converter is backed up.This repair will cost $380.00. This is the reason my car was chugging in the first place and was the necessary repair and should have taken precedence. The owner made the call to replace my car with an aftermarket catalytic converter (obviously it was a GM part to begin with). A couple months or so after I took the car home a rattle started under the car when it warmed up. I took the car back and explained the situation and they fixed the problem. Again a few months later the rattle started again and also there is oil leaking from my car. I am getting very upset now but took the car back AGAIN!! The owner proceeded to tell me that the problem with the rattle is because the aftermarket catalytic converter doesn't fit right so it may rattle. Aftermarket? I was NEVER asked about aftermarket ANYTHING!!! Also my check engine light is now on (oxygen sensor in converter) beause it doesn't fit right .They had banged that new part up with a mallet trying to make it work for my car. A GM Factory catalytic converter would have been $780.00 but I was never given the option(probably because he would have lost the $425.00 tune up job). I didn't understand how someone could put $11.00 spark plugs in (top of the line tune up parts) and put a cheap catalytic converter in MY CAR!!. My car didn't go in with an aftermarket cat converter and it shouldn't have come out with one. Had he just put that $425.00 tune up cost towards the GM Factory cat converter I would probably been a very satisfied customer and had a new and closer mechanic. Alas, I also had the oil leak because they broke the drain plug and the owner argued about that saying he had no record of changing my oil. I had to go out and pull the sticker off my windshield. I think they knew they messed up my car from the get go and just didn't charge me for the oil change but even that wasn't done right. By this time they tried to claim the warranty was up and after bringing it back all these times, yeah fine but it was their dishonesty in the first place that brought us to this point. The owner proceeded to get nasty with me and my dad just said "lets go we"ll fix it". When my dad got under my car he couldn't believe the number of calmps they applied to stop the rattle and how they banged up a brand new part with a mallet/hammer?. Now, keep in mind this repair was 5 years ago but it's stuck with me all this time as my car STILL rattles. I've just become a member of Angies list recently but I had to take the time to write this review. Needless to say I would pay the towing cost from Volusia County where we now live to take my car to Russell Automotive in Apopka as I should have in the first place.

I have an older model Mitsubishi which I can no longer afford to take to the dealer. New to the Orlando area, I joined Angie's List just FOR needs like this, and to find the various professionals that were qualified for the job required. Rough times have prevented a return to dealer workmanship for my car, which I have always done previously. And, not being in any way mechanically savvy, I was apprehensive about finding a quality shop that would be well-established, receptive, honest, affordable, professional, reliable and accessable. Mechanic's Plus seemed to have all of this. Again, as with most things, only time will tell. But for now, they seem to be a goof fit, and I will be returning to them for future needs on my car. For now, they accomplished what was addressed to keep my vehicle in good-working condition, and for that, I am most appreciative. They were timely in the work performed, with no unexpected surprises, keeping me informed along the way. I highly reccommend them for vehicle repair needs.

They truly put the customer first. They are straightforward, honest, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and with highest integrity. They are just terrific people. They do everything else like brakes, transmission, electrical work, engine work and more other than body work. They take the time to explain things in layman's terms. I would continue to use them again future.
