Ok, so I know this review is on an old project and things change, but when Mark converted my porch he did such a great job so when I saw that I had the opportunity to review on Angie's list I just had to say it. He bid the job and stuck to his pricing. He had never don't his before but is obviously skilled at not only the work but knowing how to map out a project, he has the mind of an engineer. Mark is the consummate professional. He researched everything he would need did a fantastic job and kept everything neat and clean. I really don't remember how much it cost - probably more than I mentioned but it was so long ago.
In the subsequent years I have had many people in my home restoring my kitchen and bath after water leaks and they have been terrible with a capital T. Unprofessional, rude, late or no-shows and they end up doing more damage than good. Mark did such a wonderful job and set the bar so high for professionalism and fantastic work that I have had no one meet his skill level since.
I'm so glad to see he's on Angie's list as I lost his number years ago and I will be contacting him again soon. Mark is worth every penny.
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] I enjoy my work as a Carpenter and having my work and skills appreciated . I'm currently in North Carolina but may be coming back to the Orlando area and all work will be appreciated."
"Thanks for the Great Final Review before my Ankle Fusion!!! Hope I can heal fast and get back to my Carpentry. :Long ways out !!"
Mark came right out to review the situation. He noted that the door was original with the house, over 30 years old and the lamination was starting to show signs of age and a little bit of rot.
Mark suggested replacing the door with a fiber glass door. Being near the pool with the chlorine exposure, a fiber glass door would hold up well. He gave me an estimate and ordered the door and hinges. The door was installed with an air tight seal and it made our newly remodeled bathroom that much nicer.
I would not hesitate to hire Mark again in the future.
"I expected this review . It happens, sorry you were not please , wife said it looked great at end result. It was a problematic door and yes I had a bad day with sidelight which I promptly replaced my cost and time. Also was deep in my pocket like i usually am to get the outside and inside finish to work. The floor was done just prior to install ( I didn't know this was going to happen)which was way over leveled and made it worse to unlevel the opening. Unseen problems are expected in these type of doors and worked out to fit usually at my cost . Hardware is always an owner buy for their likes are not mine and I install but I may have overlooked mentioning the second time out. The sliders had to be cut out due to a tight installation not normal for the door. I've done many jobs alone without any problems , my reviews back me up , they just over worried when I discussed the issue at hand.I'm considering giving up patio door replacement due to the nature of extra unseen work to make it finish right. Like I said , the door turned out great but they were just too upset over the side light breaking. I did a lot of changes to get what they wanted but will not let that happen in future and only give the product that will work best to work in the given job. appreciate the work > not the poor review for finished project."
We had been told by two different door wholesalers that we could not replace a front door without replacing the side lights. Mark said he could do it and gave us the measurements to purchase the door. We purchased it, painted it and bought new hardware.
On the install day, there were unexpected hiccups (as there always are), the door itself was not quite the right size (actually 1/2 inch shorter than the original) and the side lights themselves were not level. Mark managed to raise the door/frame (which made me happy because previously I could not have a small rug on the interior to protect the wood floors because the door could not clear it) level it, insulate it and trim it out.
The door looks nice, opens cleanly and most importantly feels much more secure and safe than the old door. The door and side lights look like they were always together. Because of the unexpected problems, Mark spent 7 hours -- much longer than I'm sure he originally anticipated -- to complete the job. But he stuck to his original price without question and really impressed us.
Overall Mark did a great job and I would hire him again. I would also recommend him to any other angies listers.
.providing the wood. The day after the wood had been delivered, Mark was at my house, ready to go. Mark was fast, efficient, and very talented. A job that I was sure would be an all day affair at the least, took only 6 hrs. He cleaned up, I paid him , and he was gone. My wife and I have a kitchen that we plan on refurbishing, and we plan on him doing that as well.
"Thanks Member for being a satisfied customer. I see the pricing was not the best rated item> but please remember $60 was to dispose of waste material and $30 for fasteners/temp shoring. So I hope you are happy with the complete job and thank you for using Angieslist"
He completed the job with the utmost care for the new cabinets. He was very patient, working with my wife on just exactly where she wanted the pieces placed in the bathroom. He was very efficient and did not even leave one spec of dust behind. His experience and professionalism was a huge help.
We were extremely pleased with the overall work and price.
"Thank you for your kindness and extra hands!! Very pleasant working in your home. Refer me if you like > I like that kind of business too! I may start offering 10% on labor future sign /completed referrals !"
Mark is VERY good at communicating with you via email. Weekdays/weekends/evenings - you ask a question he gets back to you very expeditiously. He asked for emailed pics of my door and the location I wanted it in. He then asked to come over for a look-over. After he felt confident he could tackle the job, we set a date for the install and he asked if he could arrive between 7:30 AM and 8 AM to get an early start, as we've been getting a LOT of rain as of late.
He arrived at 7:25 AM (early, but hey, that's a good thing, right?). He put down a large piece of cardboard and a drop cloth to protect our wood floors. As he removed the trim very carefully to salvage and re-use what he could, he would clean up any debris that fell. He would then sweep and vacuum. He then installed the door AND the new hardware (lockset) we bought and re-purposed the interior trim. Needless to say: the area looks 1 Millions times better now that there is a door in there (a good looking door, that looks and opens/closes like a it was originally there from the beginning).
We are extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and craftsmanship Mark Goeden posseses and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing some carpentry work done by a competent, courteous profressional, such as he!.
"This member and his wife were pleasant to work for, he sometimes being comical lol! We still need to finish outside trim detail when the removal process is done for the outer room/porch. Im looking foward to working with them again. Thanks your your great review/Mark"
