Kurt was terrific. I recently lost my mother to Covid and inherited her fine gold Bulova watch. He was understanding and sensitive to my connection with the watch. We were able to work together to trouble-shoot and begin the repair process. Great customer service, professionalism and knowledge of his craft.

TO CAPE CORAL KURT HAD SERVICED ITH THE LAST FEW YEARS BUT IT REALLY NEEDED A NEW TIME MECHANISM. WITH THAT WE GOT NEW CHAINS AND NEW GLASS. THE CLOCK LOOKS AND PERFORMS LIKE IT IS BRAND NEW. THE CHIMES ARE LOVELY AND THE HOUR BONG IS ALWAYS CORRECT. THE PRICE WAS VERY RESONABLE. KURT IS A GREAT GUY TO WORK WITH

I have been using The Time Shop for many years. Kurt is a true professional, and treats my watches like he would treat his own. He does a thorough and professional job, every time. Most times, all I need is a battery or band, but he has cleaned my cuckoo clock several times and always does a wonderful job, at a very reasonable price. I would trust him with any timepiece I own. Very highly recommended.

Kurt Nielsen of The Time Shop did an excellent job. I was a little apprehensive about taking the clock because I was reluctant to pay a lot to fix something that I didn’t have to have running. There are so many things that go wrong in homes that spending money on a clock seemed like a luxury. However, Kurt agreed to look at it and give us an estimate. He is actually a Howard Miller authorized dealer which made me feel even better about leaving my clock with him. Kurt repaired my clock beautifully and accurately for much less than I expected. I am thrilled to have it operational again, chiming pleasantly throughout my home. He had the clock about 10 days to make sure that the timing was perfect. My clock that hadn’t worked in three years is fixed!

Kurt was very professional and explained what was necessary accomplish the repair. His cost was competitive.

I left the clock with Kurt for an estimate.  His repair shop is located in one-half of a duplex.  Kurt looked over the clock and asked me about the problems I was having.  He said he would take a look at it and call me with an estimate.  Within a few days I received a call; he told me that the clock needed to be disassembled, cleaned and oiled.  It also needed a new brass weight chain.  I approved the estimate over the phone and he said he would start on it within a few days.  Approximately a week later I received a call that the clock was ready.  When I got to the shop, Kurt had the clock hanging on a wall.  It was running beautifully and in beat.  Although I had a regular key, he provided me with a winding key to make it easier to lift the weight.  He showed me the weight chain that he replaced -- it was in pretty bad condition and probably had not been replaced for over 70 years.  He also gave me a few hints to make sure that the clock ran well.  He prepared the clock for the ride home and reminded me that there was a two-year warranty on his work.

I had an excellent experience with Kurt from The Time Shop.  A part on my 26 year old imported grandfather clock had broken so I called to make an appointment to have it repaired.  Kurt, the owner, explained that he would come to my house on the agreed date and time, would call me in the morning to re-confirm, and would also clean and check the clock over.  He stated what that service call would cost.  The morning of the appointment, he called as stated and then showed up right on time.  Kurt was efficient and pleasant and explained what he was doing.  He didn't have the part and needed to see if the part was even available, so we agreed that he would take the mechanism back to his shop and would call me when he found if the part could be obtained.  He called me the next day and said that he couldn't get the part, but had repaired it to where he thought it would work.  Alternatively, he could make a new part, but that would be costly.  We agreed to try the repaired part and set a date for him to come back to my home.  Again, he was right on time and put the clock back together. 

I deal with a lot of contractors in SW Florida, and it's difficult to find someone who follows through on their commitments as thoroughly as Kurt.  I thought his price for two trips and the repair was reasonable, and it was a pleasure doing business with him.  I would definitely recommend him for any clock or watch repair.

Our grandfather clock is 25 years old and has never been cleaned. After we moved the clock ran for about a month and then stopped. We checked with Angie's list and loved the reviews so we called. Kurt was prompt and friendly. The way he worked you could tell that he knew exactly what he was doing and along the way he explained what he was doing. 
He even cleaned the glass and reinstalled a couple of numbers that had fallen off of the face of the clock. He explained how to speed up and slow down the clock; which I got all wrong. He came back out after I couldn't get the clock to keep correct time, on a Sunday no less. He showed me how to properly adjust the pendulum and he was so nice about it too.  
Yes, absolutely I would recommend him and yes, I will have him come back in a couple of years to maintain our clock.

Although my grandfather clock was running fine, it had been 25 years since it had been cleaned and oiled. I logged into Angies List to find a clock repair technician. The Time Shop in Cape Coral Fl. had some good reviews so I called them. I spoke with Kurt and he said he could come out the next day at 2:30 P.M. He arrived a few minutes after 2:30 and proceeded to work on the clock. It took him about 45 minutes and he was done. He showed me the movement and where parts were beginning to wear but said nothing needed to be replaced at this time. Not bad considering I have had the clock for 46 years. Kurt was professional and easy to communicate with. I would recommend him for any clock repair that you may need.

Perfect. Kurt diagnosed the problem, fixed it and I picked up the clock the next day. He was very responsive, honest and priced very appropriately. I'd definitely use his service again.

Kurt asked me to take a picture of the clock's manufacturer and text it to him (because I did not have the information with me). He immediately got back with me with specific details about my clock and estimated the selling price of the clock in working condition. He was upfront in saying he was not interested in the clock but told me how to make my sale worthwhile. I asked him what it would cost to have him come out and service my clock to make it presentable to prospective buyers, he said $160 and listed the work he would do as part of the service call. The price was very fair. I chose not to have the clock serviced because it would only have to be serviced again ones the clock was moved. I highly recommend Kurt and The Time Shop.

Kurt arrived on time and corrected the problem with our 20-year-old Ridgeway grandfather clock. After repairing the movement, he then cleaned, lubricated and leveled the clock. He also instructed us in the proper use of the clock. He was articulate, professional, and customer focused.

Kurt is extremely polite and courteous. Highly recommend him if you need any clock work done!

My clock was not chiming correctly. It is supposed to reset itself on the hour but this was not happening. I was sitting at a traffic light one day and saw a van next to me that had a sign on it about clock repairs. I immediately wrote the number down and called. Kurt answered and I told him the problem I was having with my clock. He told me that it wasn't necessary for a house call that the problem could be corrected over the phone. Since I wasn't home I told him I would call him later that afternoon. I was not able to call back that evening since I got home too late. In the meantime I lost his telephone number and couldn't remember the name of his business. I finally tracked the number down through my cell phone bill and called Kurt again. He remembered speaking with me and walked me through the steps to correct the problem with my grandfather clock. Now it works like a dream. I offered to pay for his help and he said it wasn't necessary. As soon as my remodeling is done I will be calling Kurt back to have my clock serviced since it is 10 years old and has never been serviced. I want to make sure it stays in top running condition for a very long time.

Overall price was quite reasonable. In the past, I dealt with another clock repair shop. Had to have The Time Shop repair the damage caused by them.
