We had a decision to make. Our 14-year-old pool deck and lanai tile started to show unattractive and unsafe wear. There were cracks and loose tiles. However, the worst part was our home builder used house tile for both the pool deck and lanai surfaces. The house tile was extremely slippery when wet and no longer met the latest city swimming pool building code. Our options were: (1) replace, or repair damaged surface and pool coping tile, or (2) cover everything with pavers, or (3) cover everything with something more innovative and attractive. We chose to go with a TPV rubberized material to cover everything in our pool and lanai areas, including the pool coping in one color. It was our least expensive option and we were able to custom color our surface. Other advantages include rainwater disappearing after a storm, and the surface is very comfortable for walking and running. Despite several lightning and rain delays, the two Troweling specialists met their 8-hour installation promise. We moved our furniture back in 24 hours.
