RICK SHARKEYS HOME IMPROVEMENTS LLC

In February I hired him to do an estimate to replace all of the windows in my unit. He wrote the estimate and said that it would cost $5500.00. He said that he would begin the work in two weeks but would need half of the money up front in order to buy the materials needed to do the job. We gave him the money and he has never returned. His number is no longer in service and we are unable to contact him. He has never shown up and we can't get ahold of him at all.

Rick Sharkey had emailed us stating he would start job in November 2013 and the job would be complete in 2-3 weeks.  After several attempts to contact Sharkey, he contacted us on Dec.4 stating he had our engineering for the lanai and needed to put together more information for he submits it to the city.  Sharkey came to our home on December 5, 2013 stating he needed to take more measurements.  At that time he also asked if we still had our copy of the contract which we did.  He stated he could not find his contract for us so he re-wrote a new contract by copying the information off our original contract, dating the contract Dec.5,2013.  At this time he stated he needed $4250.00 to start the job which we paid.  Building permit was approved on Dec. 18.  Numerous attempt to contact Sharkey about when the project would start went unanswered.  Finally on January 4, 2014 Sharkey's employees remove our existing wood lanai.  On January 13 Sharkey and Jamie start work on soffet and fascia.  On the next day, Sharkey's employee, Jamie returned to finish soffet but leaves about 3 foot unfinished.
Again we tried to contact Sharkey by phone and email and he did not reply.  On January 25 Sharkey stated he would start framing out the walls and putting up the roof panels.  He did drop off a small amount of aluminum framing and some ladders the following week but to date he has done absolutely nothing.  At one point he claimed we changed the job by wanting the roofing to continue over the adjacent shed which was not true.  He did state that he needed to revise the engineering which took more time.  The revised permit was approved on February 21, 2014.  On several occasions Sharkey stated he would be starting our job in a week, or two weeks.  To date March 20, 2014 Sharkey has not shown up to do the job.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a professional that seemed to be on the up and up.  I checked with the County and the BBB before signing a contract but that did not reveal the true nature of this guy's sloopy performance.

They had a it all done and about a year went by and we tried to do more work but this guy did not get a work order for the work and it didn't pass an inspection. We never heard from this man again, we tried calling him many times. We had to hire someone else to and pay for another screen door. It was extremely bad service.
