Terry from Pool Doctor has been servicing my place for more then two years. A pool service is only as good as the skills the technition brings to the job and he is the best. Terry has trained many new employees so you can expect quality service from everyone I am sure.

My pool pump had a very tiny pin-hole leak which could have become a bigger problem, but my tech, Woody, recognized and reported the problem and I was able to get it serviced quickly. Also, we had some emergency repairs at the house which left our pool quite messy, but Woody had a very positive attitude about cleaning the pool. My pool has been maintained and cleaned by Pool Doctor for about 15 years and they have been great to work with.
Description of Work: Pool Doctor cleans and maintains our pool. They have for many years now. They are very quick to respond to any of my pool's needs and they are very pleasant to work with. Especially my current tech, Woody, who has a terrific "can do" attitude and is always pleasant and friendly to deal with. He is a great asset to the company.

Have a somewhat unique separate spa and pool system heated by the same heater. Took a while to get complete, but the Pool Doctor folks were diligent and completed the job as estimated. Quite happy!

Had taken my broken pool vacuum for repairs. They replaced several parts to the tune of about $120 and the vacuum still did not work correctly. I tried adjusting vacuum pressure thinking maybe it was something other than the vacuum itself as the problem. I eventually returned to the store with the vacuum where they disassembled. Rick, the manager, told me that several parts we broken and needed replaced to the tune of about $160. I explained that it hadn't worked correctly since he previously repaired it and asked if it was possible that he hadn't previously put everything back together correctly the last time. Rick simply stated that it was not possible that he made a mistake and the only way for those parts to break was if the vacuum was dropped or stepped on. I assured him that it had neither been dropped or stepped on. Rick all but called me liar at that point in front of his staff and other customers by insisting that I had either dropped or stepped on the vacuum.
Description of Work: Wouldn't stand behind their work.

We do not have a way of testing the cleaners when they come in for repairs. We only replace the parts that are worn out or broken. We repair them with new parts. I am sorry if you were treated in that way. I will discuss it with the store manager.

Frankly, we got tired of the service call charges. While the pool technician was always very nice and friendly, we've since experienced what a REAL pool cleaning is with our new company. Pool Doctor did a quick swish around the tiles and checked the chems. Our new company scrubbed the sides of the pool tiles and then skimmed everything that came loose.
Description of Work: We used Pool Doctor for over five years for cleaning, maintenance and repairs. Our pool is about 10 years old. Things started breaking and each service call was $90 regardless of whether it was a two minute boards swap or something more complicated. It became very frustrating to pay $90 over and over again.

We can not control when equipment will break down. The older the equipment the more likely there will be break downs. The service plan they had didn't include a full cleaning. We would have been happy to change their service level.

Our pool heater stated it needed refrigerant. Al came out and took it apart. It was cold so he said he couldn't tell if it was working or not. He said he'd be back the next day. He never came back. The heater did not work. I told the weekly maintenance guy. Maintenance guy states he turned in report. I received an invoice and paid more than half in good faith until resolved. Office called for balance. I informed her it did not work and I was not willing to pay the balance until resolved. I paid for the weekly service, which was over quoted so some ended up going against the heater anyway. I was told I was lying when I said it never worked because I didn't call. I did tell the maintenance man, but I should have called. Now, I'm out of 30 day warranty and am expected to pay the entire balance. I am now frustrated because I've been called a liar. I try to explain that she is really not handling this well by calling a customer a liar. No I did not yell or scream, but was adamant that I was not lying and did not appreciate it. She hung up on me. I called back, she admitted hanging up was deliberate. Stormy stated that by not calling within 30 days, I voided my warranty. My thought is that I did report it, to her employee, personally. She would not budge. The heater doesn't work, still says needs refrigerant, maintenance guy reported to office, paid 100 of 180.00 which they applied to monthly service instead of heater job, I started to tell her that I'd pay the service bill, but wanted to discuss with the general manager any other meeting of the minds. I just want the work done that I was told was completed. If it received refrigerant, why does it say it needs refrigerant? Why would I pay before it's resolved. She interrupted me and told me NOT TO THREATEN HER. She thought I was threatening to go to another company, which I told her I did not want to do. I just wanted to get this resolved. I've had service from them before and have paid. I've been a customer for years, and I've paid. The first time I tell them I don't want to pay the whole balance until it's repaired, I'm hung up on, called a liar, told that I need to understand that a lot of customers try to get out of paying bills, told I have to pay anyway and have to accept responsibility for the fact that when their employee told the front office that the heater still didn't work, they dropped the ball and never looked into it. By the way.....Al never did come back. She told me that he said he did, but that she would check his GPS. I never got the answer to that one, because I was hung up on again when I asked to speak to the General Manager. I was told she was a manager and had made her decision. She also told me never to call there again. AND, no, I didn't yell, I didn't scream, I didn't use foul language, I just asked that we get the opportunity to speak to the General Manager. I'm thinking he doesn't even know about any of this. In closing, I would say this. As long as all you need are chemicals weekly, they are fine. If you need more than that, any kind of repair or customer service from the front office, Don't use them. You cannot get past Stormy, who they saw fit to give a manager position to. Don't look for anything more than the basic service here. If you do use them for that, and you have repair issues, go to Angie's list to find another provider better suited to the specialty of repairs. RESPONSE TO PROVIDER-The problem is represented by their response. Put simply. We did not want to pay for work that was never completed. It's that simple. Al never came back to check or finish the service. Therefore, with the service not completed, we did not feel we should pay until it was. 3/20/14, the balance due on the maintenance service, due on 3/15 was paid on 3/20/14. The only other balance was for the heater, that was never repaired. That balance was only a partial balance because we had paid a portion of it in good faith to have it finished. What they did refund us for was the amount of the good faith deposit we had made. Please note in their response.....we owed them money, but they were crediting us our payment. Please keep that in mind. Do not use them as they are jaded and think everyone that has a concern is just trying to get out of paying a bill.
Description of Work: They provided services for us in the past that were satisfactory. Their weekly service is fine. The only issue I had with that was that the days would change without notice. They still came each week and there was always someone here, so we did not mind so much. It's repairs that got them started on a downslide. The customer service was horrible.

Our office did call the customer about the past due balance on 3/20/14 which included the heater repair from 1/9/14, February and March pool service. At that time the customer stated the heater wasn't working. We offered to come back out and check it at no charge but that they were responsible for the previous repair. [member name removed] stated that she wanted us to come out and fix the heater and not pay for the previous repair. When speaking to the customer, they were unreasonable to work with because of their demands. We were willing to credit back the previous repair and find another service provider.

We waited all day on the Friday of the scheduled appointment. After sitting around waiting all day, they called a 3pm and told us the the technician couldn't make it! They wanted to reschedule, but given we had to leave town and their obvious lack of reliability, we chose not to go with them. So much for all their stars on Angie's List. They proved to be difficult to schedule and completely unreliable and really did not care that they hung us up. Now we have to leave town with a broken pump and our pool is getting greener every day. Since we are selling our home, this is a big problem. They This is without doubt the poorest service we have had on our pool in 16 years. Don't trust them! They knew we were tightly scheduled and refused to send anyone else of Friday.
Description of Work: We chose this provider based on his Angie's List rating. However, when we called, they could only give us THE DAY they were coming, not a time. No matter how much we told them we need an approximate time, such before noon. Instead we were hung up for the whole day. We told them we were going out of town, so it was especially important that they come.

We are very sorry for their dissatisfaction with us. We provide quality service to our customers. Sometimes we run into issues out of our control on job sites that back up the scheduling. We try to let the customer know as soon as possible when that is going to happen. Also, between Christmas and New Years is a very busy time for pool companies. Everybody has guests down and wants the pools serviced at that time. As you can see from our other reviews that most customer's are very satisfied with our company.

I hired Pool Doctor, as there are few others who service above ground spas. I found one other, Colonial, which had a rate of about $20 less for the service call (both add hourly rates if the call takes more than 1 hour). Pool Doctor could arrive faster. The service was professional and quick -- so quick I felt a little ripped off at paying $105 for the simple fix (an airlock, which was cleared by running my garden hose through the pipes for 5 minutes). The technician was in an out in 15 minutes and happily collected his $105. This was the acknowledged price of a service call, but considering the simplicity and amount of time, it would have been nice if the rate had been reduced.

I like their professionalism. They are on top of everything they do with this pool. They show up exactly when they were supposed to every week. They check all the components of the pool from the filtration system to the chemicals. They keep it clean. They just do a miraculous job. They were the higher priced ones that we checked but I have some friends that use them and they told me how great they were and I think it's worth the extra money.

The technician quickly saw that I needed a cover plate for the light (which I actually had but didn't know what it was for). He used the one I located and I was only charged for the labor which was basically the cost of the house call. Since that went so quickly I asked him if he could take a quick look at our solar pool heater which was not working either. He noticed that we didn't have the switch turned to the proper location (it was stuck). He fixed the switch and also went up on our roof to replace a small piece of PVC elbow that had sprung a leak when the system was turned on. He thoroughly tested the system before leaving. I was so happy that the pool would now be heated. The technician was very knowledgeable and very professional. I was extremely pleased with the work and the low cost.

Overall it has been a load off of my shoulders. I can enjoy my pool everytime I decide to swim.
Description of Work: I hired the Pool Doctor for a weekly pool service. I am comfortable with the vehicle in our neighborhood and actual person cleaning my pool. I do not have a screen enclosure over my pool therefore the office recommended I buy a device to continually vacuum the botton of the pool. The person cleaning the pool really doesn't need to vacuum but he certainly does a great job with recommending what I need for pool equipment and maintaining my pool chemicals and tiles bordering my pool.

I called Pool Doctor to re-do a pool pump installation that was totally botched by Gordon's Pool and Spa Service of Cape Coral. The response was quick. The technician, Rob, was well-groomed and well-mannered. Seemed competent. We went over the job together. He quoted me a price and told me when he'd do it. The job does done while I was away. I came home and found it completed, on time, and on budget. I will now use Pool Doctor for all my pool repairs.

I was very pleased with them. They're friendly, courteous, and they are very dependable. When you have a problem they are right out there as fast as they can. I didn't realize about them fixing leaks, I thought they were just for putting in pool heaters and stuff like that. Overall experience has been excellent
Description of Work: We are only here during the winter. Pool Doctor looks after our pool both when we are here, and when we go back north. We have found their service to be excellent. They do care. Foe example, we always shut the water off when we leave. When our son was here in the summer he left the water on. Pool Doctor sent us an email asking if it was supposed to be on, or if we wanted it turned off. Just an example of how much they care, and the type of people they have working for them
