My new kitchen remodel is absolutely beautiful and turned out even better than I expected! I had Rui replace all the cabinets, install a new backsplash, new floor tiles and countertop. He was prompt, courteous, skillful and knowledgeable. The work was completed in a timely manner and I would gladly use him again as well as recommend him to friends!

It went wonderfully! He showed up ready to work, brought the materials needed for the job and made my closet 100 times more functional that it previously was!

I found Hubby for Hire on Angie's list. After a few estimates and looking at past work that was done, I was so excited to hire him to do my remodeling. He was punctual every day, hard worker, and finished the job in just 3 days. I am very happy with my new look. Thanks for such a great job! I would recommend you again and again.

I purchased a weeks worth of Handyman through Angie’s deals. He came by looked at work and gave me an estimate. I accepted the estimate but he could not do it had no time. It is a rental so I had to have someone else do it. Then I tried two more times to give him another job not to lose deal but he didn’t have time. The third time he said Angie’s List told him not to honor it as the deal had expired. Shame on Angie’s List and don’t trust this guy.

Over budget

Rui and every member of his team was professional, very punctual, and knowledgeable. For both jobs, the team arrived when they said they would and the work was completed in the estimated timeframe. In the first job in May 2016, after the team pulled out the old soaking tub, they found some old water damage under the tub area. They quickly and correctly fixed the damage and kept the job on schedule. For both jobs, the work area was left very neatly each day of the job and the final clean up was very good. We were extremely happy with the final results after both jobs. The tile was placed very evenly and the grout was done with exceptional precision. Rui kept a great balance of offering ideas and advice and following what we ultimately decided with both jobs. I have hired many general contractors to do home improvements over the years and Rui rates as one of the very best.

He arrived everyday after 8am and left a little after 4pm. Very easy to talk to, very informative. helped us out on the way. Was very professional. The shower guy was even impressed with his work. He had to re-frame the wall in the shower and install a vanity and the window. He was really the best price we could find and the best work.

Because true to form, Rui will try to blame me, my house, my walls, whatever...Just be warned......This was a nightmare!!!  He seemed nice until he got his part of the money. After that it was like my house was his part-time job.  He was splitting his day between my job, the store & some other job.  He is very sloppy & seems to enjoy cutting corners.  When I brought something to his attention, he got an attitude, maybe because I'm a small. old man & he found it easy to do.  I TRULY  DO NOT RECOMMEND Hubby For Hire & Rui to do anything except to stay away from.  AND like I said......He will find all kinds of excuses & play the blame game......DON'T BUY IT, THIS GUY IS NO GOOD.   The only reason I didn't give him an F is because even after three weeks of working part-time at my house, he finally finished the job. I'm happy to be rid of him.

Rui arrived on time, setup his mitter saw, cut and installed the baseboard molding. After the baseboard was installed he caulked on the top and bottom to fill in any gaps caused by imperfections in the wall and floor. He did a very good job and was very professional. I will hire him for future work.

Roi is wonderful. I have used him before and he does what he say and more. Explains what he has to do and why. The estimate he gives is what he stands by. I trust him enough that I would give him a key to my house if I couldn't be home for the repairs. In the past he repaired the leak in the master bath shower. He can do just about anything. He also repaired my leaking faucet, installed the new filters in my reverse osmosis system (it is in a cramped area under the kitchen sink) and fixed the hole in the drywall. He is neat, clean, never leaves a mess. So very trust worthy.

It was great. He promptly got us a quote in the price range we were looking for and was able to schedule the work quickly. He was on time and kept things clean as the work went on and the finished product looked great. I only give a B because the floor wasnt sloped properly. He did offer to fix it but I decided not too, I just use a squeegee to scrape the water from the corners.

We hired Hubby for Hire to paint the outside of our home in Cape Coral. We've worked with Rui in the past and knew what to expect: excellent service and top quality work. We were not disappointed! Rui and his crew were on-time every day, and got to work. We already had the paint from Lowe's. The job included pressure washing and painting the entire exterior. The crew is neat and clean up daily, and they work diligently throughout the day. So far, the job is coming out fantastic! My husband and I could not be happier!

Rui quickly responded to my call with a visit and promised estimate within 2 days. I received the estimate within the promised time frame and was pleased with the price. Two other contractor estimate calls were unsatisfactory with one being too busy and the other outlandish in price(both Angie's listers). I quickly called Rui and agreed to have him perform the work. Demolition of the bathroom began 3 days later. The entire renovation took 10 days. Results were great!!! My wife is extremely happy with the work. All the work was done in a professional manner. Rui and crew were pleasant, timely,and easy to deal with.

Upon contacting Hubby for Hire, specifically Rui Ribeiro - he was extremely prompt in getting back to us.  He came out I believe the next day, took down all the notes based on what we were looking for, then said he would get us a quote back quickly.  He did deliver on that - got the quote back within 2-3 days.  He was the lowest priced out of all the quotes we received, and coming from a small company myself, agreed to give him the opportunity.  I liked that he was personable and very easy to talk with and communicate to.  Once the job was contracted it took a little to get started, from both of us.  We were doing quite a bit of work to our house and weren't in any hurry to get started.  

The job was started and finished in approximately 2 Months,  there were a few setbacks - none were at the fault of Mr. Ribeiro.  The electrician he hired had a medical issue and had to be re-hired (thanks by the way to Bob with Sun Electric for jumping in for us).  
 All in all the job was done to complete satisfaction, I thoroughly enjoyed working with Hubby for Hire and would use them again for projects I may come across in the future.

Rui's work was fantastic!!  He was very punctual, did professional work and we love our new shower!  We plan to hire him again in the future for other projects.  The work was completed in 4 days (as promised) and went very smoothly.  Highly recommend him. He offered suggestions to make the shower stall look better than what we had thought of doing.  Which we went with and are very happy with the whole job.

Of the services provided, the cabinets were moved and filler installed.  It was fine other than the filler is in an awkward spot.  The door handles were installed ok, though there are a few spots where you could clearly tell the finish had been cracked off at the site of the hole). The exterior door was hung, but there were no screws place in the threshold, so everything you walked on it made a cracking sound.  Also, there was a slight difference in the size of the threshold on the new door, so about a half inch gap was left without being caulked, grouted, or brought to my attention.  The crown molding was not cut correctly nor installed correctly.  The details in the molding did not match up in the corners (one side higher than other) and the corners in other areas were uneven (one went to the exact end of the cabinet while other corners stopped short of the end of the cabinet).  Nail holes were not filled, a defective colored piece was used in the longest run (I had purchased many extras that could have been used), he placed the seam in the most obvious position and under a light, and he used an excessive amount of trim due to bad cuts (at 35.00 a strip, you need to be accurate).  Contractor was to "touch up"paint along the cabinets.  He clearly did not use any kind of tape or guide and not only was the line jagged and uneven, he got a significant amount of paint on the cabinets.  The slab doors were hung prior to painting.  They were not sanded or touched up at all (slab doors have a few rough edges that just need a touch up).  He attempted to paint with roller, which left lots of uneven spots and plenty of drip marks.  He also got paint on the new hinges I purchased (specifically noted I was buying new hinges because there was so much paint on the previous and I wanted nice new clean ones with the new doors), got globs of paint and run marks all over the trim that was already done previously, cracked and left giant gouges in the frames where he installed the hinges, and took chunks out on the door around the holes which he drilled for the hardware.  After the condition of the trim and first coat of paint on the doors was completed day 2, I asked for him not to return.  He was paid more than he should have been.  I had to pay new contractors to take down and redo all of the crown molding, add additional trim to the cabinets to cover where he painted on the cabinets, screw in properly and grout/caulk the gap in the exterior door threshold, remove the interior doors and replace the hinges, fix the damage, sand and repaint.  Not only did he do a horrible job, his response when I question him on all the paint on the cabinets was "I guess my hand is not as steady as it used to be".  His prices are good and comes off as though he knows how to do the work, but the work is not quality at all.  The majority of work had to be redone properly by another company - costing me both labor and materials.  DO NOT HIRE.

He was great. On time, easy to work with, neat, efficient. They were everything we could have asked for! Greatly recommended.

From the initial contact, Rui was responsive, attentive and efficient. He is pleasant to work with; arrives on time; and works consistently throughout the day. His work demonstrates a great attention to detail, and it shows. He fixed minor errors immediately; cleaned up the work space daily; and finished the job in a timely manner.
The estimate for the work was extremely reasonable, and Rui stayed within budget. My husband was impressed with how quickly and efficiently Rui worked throughout the day. He had the old bathroom tile removed and new tile installed within 1-2 days. He completed the masonry and construction on the new doorway within 1-3 days, too. Other than installing grout; drying the cement; and finishing up, the entire job took approximately 9-10 days.
The bathroom came out great, and the new doorway looks fabulous! My husband and I could not be happier!!
We recently moved to the area, and I found him on Angie's List. I didn't know anything about him, except the reviews which showed that other people had worked with him, and liked his work. So, I took a chance, and it really REALLY paid off!
My relatives from Miami were SO impressed, and could not believe how nicely everything turned out.
We have other small projects we'd like to do in our new home, and will definitely be hiring Rui Ribeiro again.

We got the estimate from Rui for our bathroom renovation on Mon., and he was able to start Wednesday. He sent us the list of materials, and we met up at HD. He was thorough, efficient, and gave us great recommendations. He started the job immediately and we were impressed at how quickly and neatly he did the work. Had the old tile removed the first day and was already tiling the bathroom the following day! He's organized and keeps the work area clean (as best he can), which I appreciate. Works tirelessly throughout the day, and timely arrives the next day. My husband and I are very pleased. And the bathroom is coming out great!

Rui is on time, cleans up and provides a quality result. My new shower is beautiful. I'm very happy with the results and look forward to hiring Rui for future projects in my condo.

Rui showed up on time, as scheduled. He completely tore out the old shower down to the walls, and proceeded to install new board, new tile, new liner, etc. He was very professional and we would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs home remodeling. Thank you, Rui!
