Datum General Contractor

My home had damage that was discovered by a home inspection.  The problem was the entire wall in the master bedroom had damage that was covered up by the previous homeowner.  The wall was detached at the plate and header and covered up by exterior vinyl siding and wallboard on the interior.  This was creating a serious structural problem.  With enough pressure a person could probably push the wall right through the house.  Obviously this condition was festering and worsening for nearly a decade.

Datum's owner Brian Wood responded to my call for help. Since the extent of the problem could not be assessed by viewing the wall, Brian was unable to present an estimate.  However he has a wonderful positive manner and reassured me to a comfort level rarely found by General Contractors. I hired Brian and his crew who showed up exactly on time on the day scheduled.  Brian scheduled three days to complete the repair and part of a fourth day to finish and restore the room to its original condition.  Upon arrival they opened the wall and Brian assessed the extensive damage caused by birds, insects and moisture and hidden by an unscrupulous home seller.  This was a scary site; a homeowners nightmare.  It was apparent that the entire wall had to be removed. Brian and his crew's calm behavior put me at ease and they went right to work.  They worked with determination, order, teamwork and with dispatch.  Matter of fact I never saw one person not moving.  They removed the entire wall and window and closed it up never leaving the house without a wall for more than 4 hours. They had to remove the siding, plywood sheathing, T-111 siding, insulation, studs, header, plates and a 4X6 window.

The entire job was completed noon today and the Master Bedroom is totally restored to perfection...painted and cleaned. If there was a 6th star to award to Datum I was gladly insist it be given.  The work was superb, the attitude and industry was the best I've ever experienced and the price was more than fair.  If this how Datum works I can imagine how good Brian and his staff will handle a remodel project.  Hats off to you Brian!!

Brian responded quickly to give us an estimate of the work.  He started when he said and finished in a very timely manner as well. 
Bathroom vanity removed and replaced by one provided by us,  tile installed, new vent fan installed, old lighting fixture drywall in. 
Pocket door installed.
Toilet installed after tile work.
Living room walls ruined by liquid nail damage repaired ready for paint. 
At all times dust kept minimal, protective paper on floor, materials cleaned up each evening, and left no debris after leaving. 
Very meticulous in work and very satisfied with job done and will use Brian in future work.
