Closets By Design - Fort Myers

Horrible experience. Designer spent over 2 hours drawing detailed designs. Spent another 45 min pricing. Once we agreed on price and install date we signed contracts and paid 50% upfront. Only to get a phone call next day to state they would not install unless I agreed to a much higher price ($2500 extra) with no reason other than a mistake. We have a legal binding contract and they refuse to install even tho they took a large deposit. Be very careful what you sign as they ask you to sign each page and still try to scam you in price increase.

The representative who came out to measure, advise and draw up our plans seemed quite meticulous. Seemed being the key word in that sentence.
The products themselves seem okay; not sure they're worth the price we paid, but I expect they will serve their intended purpose. 
HOWEVER.
We should have known there would be a problem when we got to the pricing at the appointment. My wife and I had specifically asked for two bike racks to be included in the design; the representative advised us that it was usually best not to draw them into the plans, so as to allow the installers the freedom to place them where they best fit. Having said that, he forgot to include their price in the quote; rather than having me write a new check, he told me that they would just charge us for them on the install date.
The installers arrived after the time window we had been quoted. My wife, who had taken the day off from work in order to meet this appointment, called their office to inquire about an estimated arrival time; rather than taking her number and calling her back, the office AND the driver both called my phone number (which had been used only to schedule the initial appointment). I was in a meeting, so I could not take the call; obviously, my wife was unhappy with the apparent disregard for her time.
Then, when they arrived, there were no bike racks in the order. Therefore, my wife didn't pay for them. When I called to complain about this oversight, the owner called me back; as it turns out, he had asked the representative about the bike racks (the day we placed our order) and the representative told him we had decided not to get them. LIE. 
To the owner's full credit, he did try to resolve the problem his employee created, going so far as to offer us the bike racks for free. I did not accept the offer, as I don't feel it was right for him to absorb that cost in addition to receiving this less-than-stellar review of his company. 
In short, be extremely careful when the representative writes up your order and make sure EVERYTHING is in writing. Also, make sure to give them every single phone number that might be used to call them, as they didn't seem to understand that my wife might have a different phone number than me.

They were prompt and made good suggestions on design.  Very responsive.

Excellent work from start to finish, estimate clear, professional expert installation.  GREAT JOB!!!!!  Would not hesitate to use them again.  Daniel, the installer, did a perfect installation, was wonderful, careful with wood floors and closing doors when going in and out.

The whole process went very well from the initial contact and all the way through to the installation. The sales associate was very knowledgable, gave suggestions, and was very easy to talk to. She not only drew a schematic with measurements, she also had samples of all materials that would be used. Our sales associate listened to my needs and preferences and made suggestions on materials for quality and use. I was convinced that quality and care would be excellent. The cabinets were installed as planned and the installation crew was professional and very polite. They cleaned the area that they had worked in. The cabinets are perfect and look very nice. I recommend Cabinets By Design to anyone wanting to install cabinets/shelving in their garage or closets. They have many quality options to choose from and the price is extremely competitive.
