I was very excited to sign up and had one application of perimeter pest control and lawn spraying. So I can't say the products don't work, however, be very careful when signing the contract as there is a clause that states if they feel it is necessary more treatments could be used and therefore cost you more money. It was a $110 error on my part for not being more attentive to the verbiage in the contract. I would expect any company would speak with the homeowner and tell them what is needed and why before they just apply and charge. Glad I canceled the contract and won't be recommending it for this reason.

Absolutely HORRIBLE service, both over the phone and in person. Company is big on false advertising/lying to get the customer on board only to then charge the customer a different amount then what was agreed upon. "Just kindly request a refund and cease all business with them", you say?.. Tried that. Still waiting to get a refund for $155 that was billed on just one visit/day. Buyer beware! If you're looking for good lawn care service, there are plenty of competitors that would love your business and have no problem being honest and professional with you from the start. If you absolutely have to do business with TruGreen, DO NOT enroll in their easypay/auto pay option. Try them out first then go from there. Then again, I guess you could do that with a much better company.

Next day we called the toll-free number. They told us WE canceled their service. They went so far as To tell husband the wife called them and canceled. Asked for supervisor, promised callback, which they did not honor. The story changed fom wife calling to cancel, to wife talking to the technician. We did not cancel! Appears this "cancelation" was fabricated by technician. The toll free line also would not tell us exactly which office was our service office, so sadly this review could apply to a different location, such as Oldsmar. Our zip is 34668. Clearly the technician was unscrupulous and overall the company did not care.

They come every month letting me know when they're coming and leave notification that they have been here. They're great! I will definitely recommend them and absolutely use them, again.

They did pretty good. I don't have complaints and the price are pretty fair. They are a good company. I don't have to worry about them coming here. I would use them again as we got him scheduled all now for year at least.

Started out good, the technician didn't just show up and spray his chemicals, but took the time to survey the property for issues before he started and tailored the treatment for what he saw.
However, I was told by the slick salesman that showed up on my doorstep that lawn treatments were $45 each and they would be done every six weeks.  Also tree/shrub treatment would be every two months at $49 each.
Noticed they were coming out a lot more frequent for the tree/shrub treatment, called to complain and was told they do those treatments every six weeks as well.
Then today I went online after they came to treat my lawn and noticed two charged for $45, thinking it was a mistake, I called.  Only to find out it was the normal treatment and an annual chinch bug treatment that I was never told about up front and was never told about prior to them doing it.

For the first couple of years the lawn looked great. Then began seeing decline. Called back out multiple times which they reluctantly did. Finally gave up and changed provider and lawn looks fantastic again.

Contracted for 8 sessions per year.  First year was great & responsive.  The past year the lawn didn't improve & we slowly started noticing them coming more often. Slowly became once a month, then every 10-14 days. Statement would state potash, but tech would tell us differently.  Made several calls & before return call came, another service was provided & statement arrived. Continued to get high-powered sales pitches every other week even after telling them to stop.  Took 2 full months & several phone calls to quit/fire them.  Hang up & next day service would be provided & statement arrived.  Caught tech twice on lawn & told him not to service, he was fired.  Two days later, service would happen & statement arrived.  Have finally gotten a fired confirmation number - have also turned them over to our attorney.  Manager called & just couldn't understand what the fuss was about.   Too many phone calls to a central database & no manager response.  Asked for records of past year & office help told me it would take several weeks.  Manager called & said he would get it to me in a couple of days - it never came.   After two months, the tech managed to get it sent out in 3 days.  Only to prove, they had been coming out every 10-14 days.  Between social media, TruGreen seems to be playing this tactic in many areas.  Shame on them!

The reason I like them was they were above the most efficient treatment of lawn or yard works. They gave me a call before they come out and they were always on time.

Absolutely horrible experience.  I had replaced my entire lawn (18 pallets of sod) just a few months prior and wanted to protect my investment, so went to a familiar name  - Scott's. I started off with a beautiful new lawn and within 6 months began to see a decline in the grass and  a variety of many new weeds and a large number of large brown areas.  I mentioned it to the technician who tried to help and assured me that it would get better soon.  Because I had prepaid for the entire year, I just kept my fingers crossed.  At one point, I was sent an email survey from the national company and I responded that I would definitely not be renewing my contract since my grass was getting worse by the month. THIS got the attention of the local manager who contacted me and set up an appointment.  I was relieved that finally something was going to be done.  As we walked my large property and I addressed each of my concerns, and pointed out all variety of weeks, his response was that they couldn't kill THAT one, I'd have to pull it up. I was already pulling up a garbage bag or two of weeds and dead grass every single week.  When I asked just exactly what don't I have to pull up, his response was "The weeds you don't see - because we've killed them" When I asked him why my lawn was the worst looking one in the neighborhood despite being the newest lawn, he blamed everything from birds dropping weeds to the yard maintenance man (who takes care of many other lovely lawns in my neighborhood) to inadequate watering - (we all were watering as much as the ordinances allowed - yet my yard was the worst).  He did finally give me a few trays of grass plugs for the areas where the grass was totally dead, but that was too little. too late.  I couldn't wait for the year to be done so I could hire a different company who uses pre-emergent products and also spot treats problem areas.   Eventually, after many discussions  about my disappointment with their results, my contract finally expired and I hired a new company.  Scott's had the audacity to continue service the following month and send me a bill since I hadn't "officially" cancelled with the office.  My contract did not state that they would do that, but the receptionist assured me that I was told about that policy since "they tell everyone".  I refused to pay until they could produce proof that I had agreed to automatically renew, which they could not.  It still took several telephone calls but they finally agreed to remove the charges for that additional month.

The service itself was fine.  What made doing business with them unacceptable was the persistent aggressive selling to add all sorts of other services besides basic lawncare.  I have terminated my dealings with them.

I have been using Scotts Lawnservice for about four months now.  Each month I have seen more and more weeds in my yard.  The color in my lawn has really faded the last few months.  My neighbor used to have Scotts as well and had the same problem.  He was told the color issue is due to them over fertilizing.  My bill each month states "your lawn is showing signs of improvement with this service".  I do not see it that way as the amount of weeds in my yard keeps growing.  I requested they cancel my service, which they did without any pressure.  They said a manager may follow up with me.  I offered them to treat my lawn for free this next month and come show me how it is helping, so we'll see if they want to try that, but at this point I feel it is better to find another service provider.

(CONTINUED FROM ABOVE): It was explained to me by Tru Green that the lawn needed specific amounts of watering that had to be measured. I have a computerized and easily adjustable irrigation system. I put a water gauge in the now bare spots, measured the amount of water being delivered with each watering, and didn?t even have to adjust the frequency or the duration of each watering session - the pre-set amount of water being delivered was the same as Tru Green had prescribed. Interestingly, the other lawns around my home were neither too dry nor too wet, and were receiving the same amount of water as where the problem was. While the brown spots grew and coalesced to involve virtually the entire lawn, I was sent a letter by the deed restricted community in which I live, notifying me that the lawn had to be fixed. Tru Green was shown the letter and offered only to plug the lawn. I called them (the community), informed them of Tru Green?s offer, they took the matter up, and informed me that their rules were specific and required that the lawn had to be resodded, not plugged. They reviewed the applicable specific regulations with me. (Violations of their rules are often referred to their attorney for enforcement.) Tru green refused, now saying that the problem was my fault ? too little water, too much water, wrong ?water density?. My gardener told and showed me that the problem was also weeds overgrowing the Floratam grass, and that portions of previously sprayed specimen trees were now dying or dead and had to be removed. I fired Tru Green last month (October of 2009). Tru green?s man said he was going to go to his boss at Tru Green and fight for permission to re-sod the lawn, even though the problems were supposedly my fault, and that he would get back to me promptly. I never heard from him again. The phone call I subsequently received was from the Tru Green's office, telling me that they wanted to go ahead and aerate my entire property, for another $200.00. I?ve taken the liberty of enclosing pictures of the above-referenced lawn problems, the ones that Tru Green now says that I reportedly caused. What they represent are only some of the results of their service. What?s that saying ? something about a picture being worth a thousand words? They show (A) the final result of only some of the poor and unacceptableI services I received from Tru Green, (B) why I?m now in the process of retaining another service to replace Tru Green, and (C) having to price a resodded lawn. Tru Green's remains unwilling to comply with this deed-restricted community's regulations and refuses to appropriately correct their negligent and poor performance, thereby placing me at risk of legal liability.

They spend 12-14 minutes (by their receipt-time in and time out) a month, on a big lawn, they do not go over the back yard (we watched several times), the chinch bugs grew instead of died, the weeds took over the lawn, etc. One guy told me "Don't worry about the bald spots, the dollar weed will be turning green soon". No joke!

I started with a newly sodded St Augustine lawn which progressively deteriorated over 3 months in the summer. Calls to the company went unanswered by the techs as well as the supervisors. The receptionist said there was nothing she could do but pass on the messages. When I did get a return call days later they would offer to come by in a week to check on the dying lawn. They would blame the lawn condition on lack of aeration or shade although there was no such problem in the locations in the past prior to re-sodding. The lawn service told me the problem was fungus and Trugreen would then charge for more potash relating that there were no other fungicides available. I finally gave up after 3 mos of a worsening lawn and switched to another company with dramatic recovery of the lawn within 2 months.

TruGreen has been a very reliable service for us. They are prompt with their service, and if we need them to come out prior to the regularly scheduled maintenance, they come right out.
