During the course of the job:
1. A sprinkler head was sodded over which meant I could not water the newly laid sod for 3 days till that error was corrected.
2.. The pavers had to have sand replaced as the ends were not sealed and sand leached out from rain. Also, the pavers are not level which I was told was for drainage. At this point, let me say I understand the concept of 'Pitch for drainage' but this is not pitched - it's a roller coaster pattern.
3. During the course of the sodding, I was told by the project manager that the square footage of sod that was ordered was short, and I was asked for an extra $400.00, over and above the signed contract price to order more sod. That afternoon, I found that a pallet of sod was dumped and abandoned in the woods on my neighbors property. I wasn't happy.
4.When I asked the project manager to repair some damage (Truck tire impressions when one of their trucks parked on my lawn
and small areas void of sod) He repaired them but not before admonishing me saying both incidents were my fault. They weren't.
At that point, I visited the Paff office and told them the Project Manager was no longer allowed at my house. To their credit, The owner held to the contract price. I decided to have someone else fix the pavers. This was not a pleasant experience.
Pam was awesome to work with in development of the master plan. She is a long term resident of the area and provided great advice on plantings that are guaranteed to survive in Central Florida. The design she developed was exactly what we discussed, provided us with the necessary details for HOA approval and now acts as our project phasing guide.
Phase 1 is underway with 6 deciduous trees planted (1 maple and 5 Crape Myrtles). Pam took us to visit a large commercial tree grower where we had the opportunity to tag our trees (12'+ tall in 45 gal containers). The quality of the trees is excellent. The Paff staff delivered, planted, mulched and staked the trees in a timely fashion. This part of the project alone has transformed the yard with instant shade and added character! Pam stopped by post installation to ensure we were happy and provided us with additional information for care of the trees until they get established.
We are currently working with her on estimates for phase 2, the paver patio installation, and I will write a review if we choose Paff for the installation.
