As the condo board president, I have an obligation to acquire multiple bids an all contractors were informed to compare "apples to apples" so the board could determine the best value for our owner's money. Matt Mondelli and Nature Coast got the project which was in the thousands of dollars. But from the beginning, things weren't as he presented. First, I noticed that the workers actually doing the work were not Nature Coast employees but in fact, were employed by a different company. This concerned us greatly because while we confirmed Nature Coast having liability insurance, we had no idea whether those actually doing the work had insurance. This was subterfuge on Matts part. Next, was the incredibly poor quality of the work itself. When pruning the oaks, the workers in many cases simply broke the deadwood off with ther hands leaving jagged stumps. When I showed this to Matt, he said he would make sure it was taken care of. However, it never was and when I called him on it, he said it wasn't in his contract. I do not consider him to be honorable, will never use him again and would never recommend him. Matt, if you're listening: at the end of the day all we have is our word and our reputation.
