Compressor was not initiating. Tech came out. The capacitor was bad. Instead of using the correct capacitor, he wired two together and bent brackets, used electric tape to force it into the unit. Condenser still didn’t initiate. He removes the fan motor and says 1 wire burnt off which is the problem. Instead of replacing the wire he chooses to force all of the other wires connected to the compressor breaking the terminal post (with an expletive). After breaking my compressor, he informs me I need a new one and my cost is $975 for a used one six month warranty. (That’s their response to breaking my compressor). He disconnects his Mickey-Moused capacitor, sticks my bad one back in, retwisting and distorting the bracket, can’t get my cover back on so he leaves it without screws. Charges me $75 for service fee. Before I got to his price quote, he did what they all do, tell me how “the best thing”....is to replace the entire system. When I said no (before his price quote of $975 to repair his breaking my compressor), his attitude went from normal to evidently ****** and a bit scary like he was going to go postal. I didn’t pay the service fee. I called. Laura was very nice until it was handed over to Connie (think that’s her name). Before I said anything, the attitude upon her picking up, having heard from Laura was clearly “oh. a problem customer is on the line, let’s see what BS I have to deal with now”). “Hi, this is Connie, what can I help you with” (Laura didn’t tell you??). I explain what happened. She says, “the tech said the wire and the post was burnt off”. I said, no...he’s lying, he broke it off (metal doesn’t burn off). She says, “I’ll have Mr. Shiver call you”. Does he call me, no. They break my compressor, quote me $975 plus $75 to fix it, don’t take responsibility, lie, get confrontational that you call them to report it, passify you with “he’ll call you” and disappear (with no AC). I think they have me confused with an idiot. All of this video and audio is captured on my security system. Filing a small claims case against Shiver Air today.

They are excellent. They are the only company who thoroughly cleaned my air conditioner. They are honest, prompt and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them.

I had the honor of Bob (the owner) come out to inspect my heating problem. Not only did he fix the problem but he did it as a courtesy for the future when I'm ready to update my unit. Being a new home owner he understood I was cost conscious and was very conservative and reasonable. I would definitely recommend him and his company!

Installer was very professional and on time.

I ended up getting a new air conditioner. So I did not really pay for a service call, but I will tell you that they glued this unit together for about three years. It was only when it couldn’t be glued any more that they say I needed new air conditioning.

Robert came to our home and checked our ac since it wasn't cooling off our house. He was upmost professional and helpful. He answered all my husbands questions and knew exactly what the problem was. He was straight up and honest. We had another company come out last week and told us everything was bad with our ac and that we needed to buy a new unit. We used shiver air for a second opinion and are grateful that we did!!! Now our home is cooling off fast!!

My experience with them was excellent. They could have been given me a new unit many times or lied about it, but they have always fixed it.

Shiver Air came recommended by our realtor. They surveyed the house and provided a free estimate with a couple of options, one at less cost. Since we were in a hurry to get the new system, we didn't obtain a competing bid from other providers, which makes it difficult to say if our price was great. However, I will say that the system I received was an upgrade and the whole deal came in under their estimate by ~$800. Very happy with that, to be sure.
Crew was scheduled for two days and ended up needing two and a half due to performing additional electrical work since the electrician dissed us. They ensured we had at least one of the two systems available to heat/cool the house each day before they left. They minimized the mess around the garage and the indoor spaces, cleaning up each day. The two technicians were professional and friendly. All in all a great experience for us.

The pricing was really very good. I did some competitive rating and so forth. I used them quite frequently. They came out well ahead. Especially considering their warranty and everything they did. Their workmanship was great. The staff was very friendly. All around, I was extremely pleased with them. Every time I have use them, more often I have been pleased with them.

Mr. Shiver was very knowledgeable and informative with suggestions to improve the way that the new airhandler would be installed and how it fit into my home . The initial installation was accomplished as to my personal preferences that differed from the normal method . The work was done without complaint and to my satisfaction with great care and craftsmanship . His crew was very polite , caring and professional in every step of the total installation . Mr Shiver has returned on two ocassions to further tailor the operation of the unit to suit our particular desires for comfort . During the one year inspection , a factory defect was discovered . It was repaired with a part that was better than new and is performing flawlessly , at no charge . This repair was detected and performed by service personnel which were very professional and congenial every step of the way . Southern hospitality at its finest !

Everything has gone pretty well. They are a little pricey, but they show up when they say they will and I will continue to use them.
