I would 100% hire Baylife Pools again. Debra always answered my million questions within minutes of the email. Garry came out and installed everything quickly when we were ready. When everything was finished Debra came back out and explained everything and gave us the directions. Honest and great family owned business. My husband and I would definitely recommend for any pool work!

Baylife Pool Services has been servicing my pool for almost three years. What I like most about their service is that everyone who sees my pool tells me how beautiful it looks. I feel as the owner, Debbie, treats my pool as if it were her own. In fact, I have recommended Debbie to other people who have asked me who maintains my pool and they have told me that they appreciate her just as much as I do once they hire her. Debbie tells me what day she is going to clean the pool and if she has to change that day, she lets me know. In addition, she tries to use the least harmful chemicals. She seems to know a lot about taking care of pools and serves on boards regarding pools in the Tampa Bay area. I would refer Debbie to anyone who is looking to having their pool look great on a consistent basis because Baylife Pool Service is good at what they do!

When I saw Debra's credentials, I was impressed and trusted that based on her recognition on Angie's List, she would be of utmost reliability and focused on service performance. My initial impression was one of concern. She didn't answer calls and I had reached out to her several times during that day to initiate service. I was less than impressed. When I finally reached her, she was unapproachable to say the least, and actually ended up apologizing to me for starting off on a bad foot because herself and her family were sick, and she was feeling overwhelmed with all the work. I decided to move past that and give her a chance and hire her based on credentials only. There were a few times the pool wasn't cleaned to our liking, even though there was sand at the bottom. I believe my husband and I may have called or emailed her a few times due to service issues, but mostly regarding spoke to her regarding needing help with setting up our new pool vacuum or most recently requesting more salt to be added. We certainly were not out of line with assuming we could have direct contact with a service provider we were paying for. We have previously had issues with our pool equipment and contacted Hawkins Company to come troubleshoot the issues since they installed the recent parts and salt cell. They shared with us that the reason our remote continually states "check salt level" is because it's an auto message when the salt hits 2700 or below. They stated our salt levels should be 3200-3500 to optimally run based on the equipment we have. Assuming we could have a dialogue, we shared that information with Debra and requested she keep our levels between 3200-3500, unlike the 2700 the levels were at. It was a simple request - to please keep the salt at a particular range. No one ever said anything condescending, rude, or out of line to Debra. As customers, we should feel able to communicate our wants/needs, while also being optimistic that she would in turn share her professional opinion so we can take that into consideration. We are not pool experts, and we have every right as pool owners to be involved, research and share opinions. I'm completely offended that Debra was so blatant and unprofessional to send us a response to our email (requesting she add more salt to our pool) essentially firing US one day before our next scheduled service. It's clear that she was willing to work hard, it's evidenced by her negative attitude and the glaring chip on her shoulder. A business owner should have thicker skin, and better relationship building skills to RETAIN customers, not abruptly fire them! All of this was certainly a misunderstanding and could've easily been rectified with communication. And to think we only had our pool serviced bi-weekly beginning July 28 - Aug 25, so we only had service THREE TIMES!!!!! I'm grateful that there are avenues such as Angies Listb and the BBB to report this kind of behavior from a Florida business owner. ******* I sent the above communication to Debra, and she again responded unprofessionally by apologizing, citing personal matters as the cause for being "a little emotional". This hardly seems like a professional email to send to a customer, and it definitely doesn't validate her reasoning for firing a customer just for requesting salt be added to their pool. Debra also sent us an email saying she felt she was being spoken down to and not respected. We have had very little contact with her, and the times I've seen her at my home I have gone outside to talk with her. We absolutely are not guilty of anything more than speaking up about our wants and needs. She just couldn't deliver in a professional manner and certainly didn't live up to my expectations from the accolades she touts of herself being a certified pool master. Regarding ratings; she is expensive, way more than other like companies and she wasn't consistent. In other words, one time arriving at our home at 6:00 pm for cleaning!!!
Response from BayLife Pool Service

"You were rude to me...treating me like "the help"...disrespected me and would not listen regarding your pool. You had problems with your previous service and now I see why...something told me to walk away from you from the moment I met you."

After my last pool service dropped me without even a phone call, I was frantic to find a pool service to clean and stabilize my pool.. My pool was quickly becoming the consistence to green pea soup. My paver pool deck was in need of extensive repair and my pool screen was falling apart and green. So, I immediately came to Anglie's list and found the best company that I thought might provide the extensive repairs I needed. Debra, the owner of the company, Baylife Pools, was very responsive to my request, came out within 1 day to give me a free estimate and even recommended a screening service to do some screen panel repair. I was not in a hurry to get everything done immediately and understood that this would be a many step process. Now 2 weeks later, I have a sparkling, clean pool and a pool deck that looks brand new. This is a small family run business that gives the best in customer service, keeps you up to date on project progression and is reasonably priced. Oh, and Baylife did not request any money until the project was complete. Because I was so satisfied with this service, Baylife is now taking over my weekly pool service. I would highly recommend this company.

"Thank you so much for this awesome review...I love to make people happy and be able to use their pools again...I like transforming a green pool into a sparkling gem...hopefully hurricane Hermine didn't mess my work up and you can use the pool this labor day! See you this week! Again, I really appreciate you taking the time to review me on Angie's List!"

Debbie is very professional and detail oriented. She did a complete maintenance on our pool equipment which included repairs and replacing salt water cell. The price was very extremly reasonable. After doing a test of our water she realized all of our water counts were extremely off. She drained the pool and introduced cemicals that would bring our pool back to the beautiful pool it was.
Very Very Happy. I have used many pool companies.. after the owner comes and gives you a quote along with a plan for maintaining I never saw the owner again. Employees were sent that missed our pool weeks and spent seconds at our pool. Debbie is the owner and she manages the pool herself. Use her you won't be disappointed.

We began using Debbie from BayLife Pool Service in the summer of 2014 and have been very pleased with her pool service. She is knowledgeable and thorough about her work. We had a new surface put into our pool and Debbie went above and beyond to make sure that the chemicals were in balance. BayLife Pool Service provides an e-mail with the pool readings every time they perform a service. Debbie is also concerned about the types of chemicals she uses and tries to use natural products when feasible. We are so impressed with her customer service, her caring for our pool like it was her own, and the willingness to go the extra mile if necessary. She is extremely good at what she does and she is a wonderful person as well! In addition, she reduced our monthly fee when we had a screen installed. Some times she may charge extra for the chemicals which is fine with me because I request certain products, but it is well worth the price. We have had many compliments on how beautiful our pool looks now!

We had to move prior to my house being sold.  I hired Baylife Pool Service and its owner Debbie Swearingen to maintain my pool while I were in transition.  I could not have been happier with her service, professionalism and her attentiveness.  Even though I was not in the same city, she would email me with updates of my pool test results and the services she performed.  At times she even sent me pictures.  During the transition, we also developed a crack in the lid of my filter.  She worked with me to minimize the cost of the repair.  I ended up finding the part on Ebay and having shipped directly to her, and then she took care of the repair and charged a reasonable amount for her labor.  The repair was accomplished at a fraction of what it might otherwise have cost.  All with me being in another city.  As she states on her website, her weekly service may not be the cheapest, but in my humble opinion, she is well worth the few extra bucks for the professionalism, trustworthiness and attentiveness she provides.  A++++ Vendor!

After having someone else out to work on our pool, I can honestly say that people should run to their phones and call Baylife first. Some other companies may bill heavily with slow (or no) results. That happened to me.  Why did I even start with them?  But Debbie came over, got the job done, and honored her estimate.  A rare thing!  The Angie's List reviews are why I gave Baylife a call and it was such a smart move after being burned by a non-Angie's List company.  I've learned my lesson. Debbie is terrific and I'm glad I now have Baylife to come out weekly to keep my pool blue.  Thank you, Debbie!

The pool was a mess, and a very tough job to do in such a short period of time. Debbie was fantastic. Great communications, prompt, delivered what was promised when promised. I would definitely use her company's services again.

"Thank you so much for contacting me through Angie's List...I really meet the nicest people here. I appreciate you trusting me with your pool. It was definitely one that I felt a need to take extra precautions due to the high water table. I did not feel confident in draining your pool and leaving it without water for any time. I never know exactly how long a pool will take to clear up..some I can get done in a couple of days and others take longer. I am glad I was able to get your pool clerared up and you swimming again. You can call me any time you need help. Thank you again for giving my service a awesome review!"

Debbie at BayLife Pool Sevice is amazing!  My initial contact with Debbie was to bring my green pool back to life and to establish a monthly maintenance routine.  It tool one visit to realize that Debbie is much more than a pool service.  She is a dedicated professional that is knowledgeable and cares about her clients.  It took about three days to see the sparkle in our pool again and just in time for the holiday weekend.  Being a fairly neglected pool over the past several months, I asked to Debbie to come out on a very short notice, to address a few reoccurring issues.  Debbie was prompt, attentive and provided all service with a smile.  I am so glad we have established a relationship and will definitely recommend her to all my friends.

They came out on time and got our green pool back to clear/blue with a few visits the first week. We supplemented with our own chemicals as part of the process. We had service with them for a couple of months and they showed up on time and were very professional, gave a nice e-mail with the results of each chemical level. I got a return call/text/e-mail very promptly with each contact. Yet each 2 weeks the pool would be dancing around green/teal tint. We hired a company so we wouldn't have to keep track of chemicals and do our own service on our pool.

Initially I was told she would leave some chlorine tablets for our floater, but that did not happen. We were told to add chlorine this last 2 week period, which I did (I added 2 bags of shock). The pool is bright green today, which was to be our service day. I know it rained for 2 days, but it should not turn green that fast. We're going to look for a different company.

*7/28/14* We don't "let" the dogs swim. We actually would, but they are terrified of the pool. There is also no feces on the "pool deck area" in our screened lanai, thanks for implying that we're just dirty bums that you can't manage to clean a pool around. The dogs only have access to 1/4 of the yard that is fenced separately from the rest of the yard. I have managed to keep my pool up myself since then. I bought an auto vacuum (Baracuda G3), a new filter, and tablets. Not even a hint of green after initial brushing/shock by me. The vacuum will pay for itself after next month (month 3).
Response from BayLife Pool Service

"I wish you would have called me or talked to me directly and given me the opportunity to make you happy. I know this is your first swimming pool and you are not aware of the cost and process involved in swimming pools. You have a few problems with your swimming pool which need to be taken care of in order to have a problem free pool. I take into consideration these problems when I quote a price on pool service, because I know it is going to cost money for the upkeep. Bi weekly service is not the best option this time of year with rain and the heat...especially if you do not do anything on the week it is not serviced. I gave you two options...one for weekly and one for bi-weekly in order to make it affordable for you. I can not work for free and I never said I was the cheapest service in town. I have to purchase supplies, gas, insurance, and receive a fair rate for my time. Each time we serviced your pool we were having to clean your filter and vacuum to waste, because your filter was putting the debris back into the pool. This is a problem and it is time consuming. The dog feces around the pool deck area and in the yard is a problem. If you are allowing the dog(s) to swim that is like having 50 people in the pool. I love dogs...but they are a real problem to swimming pools. I think this worked out for both of us. Thank you for giving us a try."

We needed our pool to be adjusted/cleaned with spring/summer starting. A new job meant not enough time to take care of the pool, so I wanted to hire a regular service before it got really bad. It looks like I found our new pool company! Debra is super nice and even squeezed in my cleaning/service on an off-day to accommodate my son's birthday party. The pool looks beautiful and clear and the detailed analysis sent via e-mail after each service is great. We can see where/what chemicals are used- we really like that.
