"Thanks [Member Name Removed], it was a pleasure cleaning your roof! Thanks for choosing us!"
"I don't understand this review. The date you said we did the work was over 2 years ago, and you are just now leaving a review, 2 years later ? I don't recall ever doing any work for you, and if we did, and you have problems, why was it not brought to our attention, 2 years ago ? I am not saying we are don't make mistakes, but when we do, we take care of them. That is, when they are brought to our attention."
"Sorry about our truck going down, but it all worked out in the end."
"Thank You for remembering us, after 8 years! I apologize for us being so busy, and we appreciate your patience. Besides being the owner of Apple Roof Cleaning, I am also the founder of the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America [Hyperlink Removed] Because I am a teacher of roof cleaning methods that do not rely on pressure washing, I have to stay up on the latest developments in roof cleaning chemicals. The chemicals we used to clean your tile roof this time, are even better then what we used 8 years ago, I can't promise that your tile roof will stay clean for another 8 years, because how long any roof will stay clean is determined by the amount of rainfall and cloudy days in the coming years. Thank you for choosing our roof cleaning company again ! Chris Tucker"
"Thanks (member name removed), we see this quite a lot. Sellers of a home get a roof cleaning letter from the homeowners association, then ignore it, and try to make the new owners pay for it. This is called nondisclosure, and is not only bad for your Karma, it is also illegal! I am happy I was able to assist you in getting your roof cleaned, at no cost to you. Many people call us to get their roof cleaned are also unaware they have a warranty from the shingle makers, that sometimes will also cover cleaning."
"Sorry for any misunderstanding. We clean roofs outside, and can not clean on cold, windy, or rainy days. This makes scheduling roof cleaning difficult, because we never know if the weather will cooperate, or how long each roof will take to clean, until we start. We prefer to take our time with each roof cleaning job we do, rather then rush through a job, because we have another job scheduled that day! We always call the day we are on the way, and never show up early in the morning, before 9 am. Most of our customers are never there, nor do we need them to be. We clean their roofs, and then they call us back with a credit card, or mail us a check. I spoke to my Son and his crew, who cleaned your roof. They told me the plants you moved did not need to be moved at all, because they were not in the drip line of the home. This is what you pay us for anyway, to clean your roof, and to protect your plants in the cleaning process. I do remember your phone call of complaint, but when I asked my guys if there was any problems, they told me you guys paid us, so I thought that was the end of it. Please understand I often get 30 to 50 phone calls a day, and sometimes, people can fall through the cracks. I am sorry the roof cleaning chemicals got on your shirt. This WAS our fault, because our groundperson should have stopped the person on your roof from spraying, when you were out moving plants. I yelled at him for this, and his excuse was he was busy watering your plants from the dripping chemicals on the other side of your home. He said he feared if he stopped watering your plants to tell you the plants you were moving did not need moved, your plants may have been compromised. Technically, he was correct, but you still have a ruined shirt. Because you guys paid us, I do not have your invoice anymore. But if you will call me at 813 655 8777, I will mail you a check for the shirt that was effected by our roof cleaning process Chris"
"Thank You for your faith in us. We clean quite a few shingle and tile roofs for out of state owners, like yourself, in the Tampa area. The roof was quite dirty, and took longer to clean then we anticipated, but as you can see by the pictures, it came out beautiful. Thank you for your fast payment by credit card too."
"Thanks for the kind words! Getting a roof cleaned need not become a hassle for a homeowner. I would say that nearly 90 percent of our customers are not home, when we clean their roof. We clean the roof, then leave a bill, it is as simple as that! We always suggest that our customers make a copy of the invoice, before they send the original off to their homeowners association. Homeowners associations are well known for saying they never got proof the roof was cleaned. The last thing any homeowner wants is for their homeowners association to come snooping around their property. LOL, God only knows what other violations they will find ?"
"We clean roofs for several painting contractors in the Tampa area. Certa Pro Painters, A Able Painting, and Todd at Bloomingdale Painting, are just a few of our customers. We are quite familiar with cleaning roofs before and after a house is painted. The work we agreed to do for the member would have been completed as scheduled, in the time period he requested, and we both agreed to. However, the member attempted to try and put himself and his job before our already scheduled other jobs. He said he had an elderly parent coming home early from the hospital, and wanted to spare them the noise of Men working around the home. Though I reminded him that there were painters he scheduled coming right after us with noisy air compressors and paint guns that hiss, etc etc etc, he became adamant that we do a job a day early! I told him all our customers are important to us, and we were already on a large job. He actually asked us to postpone an already started job, to do what he wanted. Though I told him we do not leave uncompleted jobs to start others, he kept insisting we do what he wanted, and kept asking repeatedly why we would not meet his demands. Finally, I suggested he find someone else to clean his roof. No work was actually performed here. A member was unsuccessful at getting my company to compromise our other customers, by leaving their already started jobs to do his job, a day before it was scheduled. I ask Angies List to remove this, because we did nothing wrong. His work would have been done within the time frame it was agreed to. He tried to alter the agreement by moving the work up a day. If you have reservations for a hotel room on a weekend, and show up on a Wednesday, you can't ask the hotel to make the people in "your room" leave early."
"I don't recall doing any work personally for this customer. We guarantee our work, and I was never made aware of "insufficient rinsing" or we would have gladly came back and made it right.. I was sick with the flu recently, and maybe his job was done by my Son and my temporary replacement, but I do not recall his job at all. He states that the company that performed his roof cleaning in the past "rinsed properly". Why did he not stick with that company, since he said he was pleased with their work ? When I find a company that does a great job, I stick with that company. Regardless, we guarantee job satisfaction, and when we make mistakes, we take care of them, if we are made aware of the mistakes. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and we are accredited members, pledged to arbitration. An A+ Rating in our business is almost unheard of. We deal with customers forced to get their roofs cleaned by their homeowners associations. Many of these customers are quite angry they are being forced to get their roofs cleaned, and some even think we "turned them in" to their property managers. Unable to take their anger out on their Homeowner Associations, some take it out on us. Yet, despite all this, we have maintained an A+ BBB Rating for many years. This is not because we don't make mistakes, we do. But when and if we make mistakes, we take care of them. Chemical Roof Cleaning can be a real challenge to perform correctly, especially when the customers have no gutters, and delicate landscaping. Unlike some of our competitors who water their cleaning chemicals down to protect landscaping, at the expense of a roof cleaning does not last, we choose to give our customers their moneys worth. Though it costs us more money to not water our cleaning chemicals down, the result is a longer lasting clean roof. Plus, the actual cleaning itself looks better, then if it is performed with watered down cleaning chemicals. Sometimes, on a windy day, the cleaning chemicals can blow onto the windows, and if not rinsed off promptly, can leave an unsightly residue. Unless vinegar is used to remove it, it can be frustrating for a homeowner to get off. A simple telephone call would have solved his situation. We would have came right back and easily corrected his problem. Problems like he had simply don't happen very often, when I am on the job with my Son. My Son and I have cleaned well in excess of 25,000 roofs, in the many years we have been in the roof cleaning business. We are seasoned professionals, with years of experience. I am the founder of the Roof Cleaning Institute, and a nationally known teacher of Chemical Roof Cleaning. We train potential roof cleaners who come here to Tampa to learn our Trade. We are proud of our good reputation, and that we won the Brandon Chamber of Commerce Business Of The Year Award in 2002. I think Angie's List is a wonderful thing for Homeowners to protect themselves from incompetent work. However, I think a company deserves the chance to correct any mistakes, and to be made aware of any problems before these reviews are published. All Companies can make mistakes, we are only human. But I think a company must be afforded the opportunity to correct their mistakes, before bad reviews are left. Now, if a company refuses to acknowledge and or correct mistakes they made, then they certainly deserve a bad review."
"I am sorry member that my employee asked you for Cash. You are correct, he did not have enough Gas in the truck to make it home, and was too embarrassed to admit to me he forgot to take the company Gas Card and fill up before he left with his crew to clean your roof. I apologize. Sorry about the smell too. Unlike some roof cleaning companies who water their chemicals down to have a cheaper price, and/or make more profit, we try to give our customers what they pay us for. It must always be remembered that is a plant growing on your roof. It must be killed, or it will grow back quickly. The smell will go away completely in a week w/o any rain, and will go away as soon a a good rain falls. Our process results in a roof that stays clean for many years. Thank You for choosing us! Chris"
"THE MEMBER CALLED US AND TOLD US WE DID A GREAT JOB. HE SAID THERE WERE JUST A COUPLE OF DARK SPOTS REMAINING ON THE EDGES OF THE TILES. HE WAS ADVISED THESE WERE NORMAL, AND WOULD GO AWAY AFTER A RAIN. WE ASKED HIM TO WAIT FOR A RAIN, SINCE IT WAS SUMMERTIME, AND RAINING NEARLY EVERYDAY. WE ALSO TOLD HIM WE WOULD COME BACK IF NECESSARY, SINCE OUR WORK IS GUARANTEED. I TOLD HIM IT WAS MUCH BETTER TO SIMPLY WAIT ON A RAIN, AND ALLOW US TO COME BACK, IF NEEDED. I DID TELL HIM THAT IF HE WERE IN A HURRY, AND WAS UNWILLING TO WAIT ON A GOOD RAIN, THAT HE MIGHT TRY SIMPLY RE-RINSING THE EDGES OF THE TILE WITH A GARDEN HOSE. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT UNLIKE PRESSURE WASHING, OUR CLEANING PROCESS ACTUALLY KILLS AND REMOVES THE PLANT GROWING ON HIS ROOF. AT NO TIME WAS ANY PLANT EFFECT BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION, UNTIL NOW. WE HAVE SPECIFIC FOLLOW UP WATERING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL TREATED ROOFS. THIS MEMBER MAKES NO MENTION OF ANY FOLLOW UP WATERING HE DID. THIS IS LIKE BUYING A NEW CAR, NEVER CHANGING THE OIL, THEN COMPLAINING WHEN THE MOTOR BLOWS UP. IT IS CLEARLY PRINTED ON OUR INVOICE THAT ALL PLANTS MUST BE WATERED BY THE OWNER AFTER THE TREATMENT. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN THE BURNED EFFECT ON THE PLANTS THIS MEMBER DESCRIBES."
"WE DID HAVE SOME PROBLEMS WITH OUR VOICE MAIL, AND CALLED VERIZON TO CORRECT IT. WE SPEND A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR ADVERTISING. IT WOULD BE FOOLISH ON OUR PART TO REFUSE OUR CUSTOMER CALLS? BACK IN 2005 WHEN THIS COMPLAINT WAS WRITTEN, WE HAD 3 FULL TIME ROOF CLEANING TRUCKS. WE WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN "TOO BUSY" TO SERVICE THIS, OR ANY CUSTOMER. I PERSONALLY HATE IT WHEN SOMEONE DOES NOT RETURN MY CALLS. UNFORTUNATELY, SOMETIMES THINGS "FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS". I APOLOGIZE TO THIS CUSTOMER."
"THANK YOU! WITH TWO SKILLED MEN MAKING 20 AND 15 DOLLARS AND HOUR, THE COST OF THE CLEANING CHEMICALS, ADVERTISING, AND GAS, ETC, ETC, IT DOES NOT LEAVE MUCH PROFIT LEFT OVER FROM THE REASONABLE $250 DOLLAR PRICE YOU PAID FOR OUR SERVICES. I WAS TRYING TO KEEP THE COST OF YOUR ROOF CLEANING AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE EXPLAINED THAT WE CAN BLOW AND OR DISPOSE OF THE LEAVES THAT WERE ON THE ROOF, BUT THAT WE DO CHARGE A LITTLE EXTRA FOR THIS SERVICE. YOUR ROOF CAME OUT BEAUTIFULLY, AND AT A REASONABLE COST. THANK YOU FOR GIVING US A GREAT OVERALL REPORT. CHRIS"
