Front desk staff were completely uncouth.  They talk and laugh about customers in front of other customers.  The work they performed on my car was decent but the unprofessionalism was completely uncalled for and not acceptable.  I would never go back to this place.  There's a reason why Lex's is always rated higher than this place.  Spare yourself an hour or two of painfully rolling your eyes while waiting for you car - go to Lex's for a pleasant atmosphere, cheaper prices and better work.  You can't go wrong.

Everyone I spoke with at McGee was extremely friendly and professional.  Unfortunately, I would never recommend this business to another person because they seemed a little too eager to do as much as work to my car as they possibly could.
I brought in my car to have a check engine light diagnosed.  I received a call a few hours after dropping the car off and was told  they found the problem (the EGR valve would need to be replaced) and that for parts and labor it would run about ~$600.  The woman on the phone then listed an additional $1600 of work that the car would "need."  I knew immediately they were trying to scam me because not a single item she listed was actually broken or faulty, and less than a year earlier I had brought the car in for a full tune-up from another mechanic I've trusted for almost 20 years, yet she was trying to portray this optional work as something that my car would need.
I specifically agreed to have two tires replaced and the oil changed but I declined the extra $1100 of work that they tried tacking on to my bill.
I picked my car up, and again, the man at the desk was extremely friendly, but when I got home and thoroughly went through my bill I noticed that the work I agreed to was less than originally quoted, but they hid stuff like replacing the air filters (I  just had them replaced and they never asked if I wanted them changed!)  to bring the bill up to the originally quoted amount.
If they had called me, quoted the immediate work that needed to be done, then said "we noticed your car is this many years old, we recommend this optional work as a means of long-term upkeep if you're interested", I would have really liked this place, but to try billing me double the work that was necessary while using scare tactics in the hopes I'll ignorantly agree to anything is kind of crooked.
If I had to pick between the two, I'll take a surly mechanic I can trust over a friendly one that's trying to maximize his profits at my expense.
