When my dog ran through and shattered my sliding glass door on the coldest day of the year and 5 days before Christmas - I panicked! Sun, Window and Doors had replaced my windows a couple years ago so I called them. The minute Kyla answered the phone she calmed me down and although she couldn't promise anything due to staff shortage (the holday) she had a crew out by the end of the day - they were wonderful, cleaned the mess and boarded me up! Kyla ordered the replacement glass said it would be 6-8 weeks - Nope my door was fixed in 4 weeks. The replacement crew was wonderful - Stephen went above beyond, fixing my rollers and my lock as well. The door was better than ever before. All employees that I encountered were professional, easy to talk to and willing to do anything. A continued satified customer and would recommend over and over. Won't trust anyone else with my windows and doors. Thank you once again.

So I started the decision process, not only looking at the various manufacturers, but having interviews, getting estimates from the ?big 3? advertisers in all the Sunday papers, as well as smaller ?window specialty companies, and of course checking out online and Angie?s list reviews. Products such as the PGT Wingard III didn?t exist a few years ago so our decision to wait was a great one. Impact resistant, argon filled, triple glazed, low-E, easy vinyl maintenance and a stainless steel internal package since we are next to Palma Sola Bay. The product was chosen, but now to choose the installer. Of the five companies examining my home, four sent of ?teams of two? salesmen. Retrofitting new impact windows into an older brick home with complex wall construction had many structural and wind load issues that needed to be addressed in order to really get the value/performance from the ?hurricane? windows. NONE of the salesmen could address details of installation leaving that for their ?engineers? who would measure upon accepting their bids?some of which were quite (questionably) low. And then we found Sun Window, as PGT had them listed as an approved vendor on the PGT website. John Anderson (experienced multi-generational window installer) came to view our home. He had recommendations and invited us to see a similar window type being installed on Anna Maria. John earned our trust and right on schedule (about a 12 week ordering process) the crew showed up in early August. The guys were professional and careful of both the interior/exterior. Because I have a construction background, they kept me ?in the loop? regarding anchoring and any wood replacement or structural issues. I feel this area is where John?s team excelled. From unsquare openings, to damaged wood in jams or sills, each was addressed and repaired/replaced?and at the original quoted dollar amount. Never the ?nickel-dime? add ons for this or that which had been prevalent in Angie?s List reviews for the other companies. Hurricane protection was not our main choice in the windows, after all, a 1926 next to the Bay Florida home has seen many hurricanes and survived them all, but the additional features such as impact resistance for security, the non-fading and heat reduction of the Low E, the energy efficiency of argon filled thermopane, the ease of operation, the cleanliness of the vinyl, the maintenance free exteriors, and the amazing reduction in exterior noise transfer made the package far exceed our original expectations while maintaining the architectural look of divided lite windows in keeping with the history of the home.

From first contact to the day they were completely finished, service was outstanding. They listened to what I wanted. Made very helpful suggestions without being pushy about anything. Listened and answered all my questions. They helped us choose higher quality products and saved us money compared on 2 other quotes we had received. We had not told themabout the other quotes. All Sun Window personal were very professional and helpful. Even my wife felt comfortable having their employees in our house. the owner stopped by during installation to make sure everything was going well. What we really appreciated was the outstanding way they cleaned up while working and after they finished. We would highly recommend Sun Windows.

Sun Window made us a new patio door about 18 months ago. But they have absolutely no record of it. Nor could they find any evidence that they made new screens for my whole house. $800 worth. The rollers on the door have since fallen apart and the door is always out of alignment. They took the door back to the shop and replaced the rollers and realigned it. They charged me over $200.00. They claim their work is guaranteed for 90 days. What????? Will never use them again.

I called in the morning and was not promised it could be done that day.  They called later and said the repairman would arrive at 12:30.  He was right on time.  He did an excellent job and the window looks great, including the glazing job.  I did not rate the price since I have never had this done and I am in a hurry.

Mea culpa in part as I didn't ask for an estimate, nor was it offered. Took several days for their van to arrive, and the custom replacement (I had erroneously assumed that the glass, one piece, was standard. The worker did spend over an hour putting the new sheet of glass in. If $220 is standard for this sort of job, my apologies to Sun Window, seems high to me and left me regretful. Next time I will get estimates in advance, even for what seems like a small job.
