I was at my friend’s house and saw that he had just had it painted. It looked great, and like most people looking for an honest, professional painter, I asked him who he used. He said it was a business started by a local resident who saw that many people were paying too much to have their house painted, and so decided to start his own painting business. I went to the web site for Prosser Painting, [*** Link removed ***] and I like what I read and saw. I also checked with the BBB and there were absolutely no complaints. They were in business for 5 years with many positive comments on Nextdoor too. What really sold me was the job they did on my friend’s home. I like doing business with small business owners because they have more diligence in doing the job right. I setup an appointment from the link on the web site for a day and time to meet, and David Prosser, the owner, came to go over what I wanted done. What impressed me most was his understanding of how to paint a house. His quote included power washing, filling in exterior cracks and caulking around windows and other surfaces as needed, and then the painting. All the paint would be rolled on, giving a thicker and complete coverage over the concrete stucco, whereas spraying the paint on the surface leaves a much thinner layer. Of course some trim areas would be brushed, and where needed like down spouts and doors would be sprayed. I asked about the carriage light fixtures on the garage doors which he said they don’t do, since Florida Building Codes state that only the home owner or a licensed electrician can take them down or put them up. That was not a deal breaker and I agreed with him. I decided to take the fixtures down, cleaned and sanded them, and bought the spray paint Prosser recommended and had him paint them. He also has a relationship with what I consider to be the best paint company, and I gave him a list of the colors needed and how the colors would be applied to the house. The quote came which was very reasonable, and specified the number of gallons needed for each paint color. I was to visit the paint store and place the order for the paint which the store delivered for free a few days before the scheduled day to paint the house. I received Prosser’s discount for the paint which was a huge savings. The house was power washed on Monday and scheduled to be painted that Friday. On Friday their team of 5 arrived at 8am and went right to work. By 4pm the house was completely painted. They walked around the house with me to review the work, cleaned up everything and took all the trash, and I am now enjoying my home for what should be at least another 10 years, probably 15 years. The job they did was fantastic! My house didn’t look this good when I bought it new. Whatever house you have, whatever quotes you have received, don’t proceed without having Prosser Painting come to advise you. I have lived in many houses and dealt with many painters, and Prosser’s work and quote is heads above all of them. He has all the characteristics you want in a painter: integrity, knowledgeable, professional, courteous and honest - qualities that are hard to find today.
