KERN CONSTRUCTION

I met with Mike Kern in October 2014 to get an estimate for replacing my front deck and installing a roof over it. He came to my home to take measurements and discuss the job. After not hearing back for several weeks I called Kern Construction and left a message. I also sent several emails. None of which were answered. After calling several more times I talked to someone in their office. After laughing about the fact that no one was returning my calls or emails she assured me she would have an answer the next day. Well that didn't happen either. After leaving another message on their answering machine on December 24th I received this response by email; "Sorry, we have taken such a long time responding to you. We have been extremely busy trying to wrap up several jobs before the end of the year, which is why Mike has not been able to get with you on beginning a new project. I would suggest contacting him again after the first of the new year, but I completely understand if you need to go elsewhere because of our time constraints right now." I understand that a contractor may be busy but it is completely unprofessional not to communicate with your customers. Then they ask me to re-contact them. Why wouldn't they contact me instead? I asked them several times to just let me know if they weren't interested in doing the work. Well thanks but no thanks. If that's how you handle your customers I don't want anything to do with this company.

The job was done on time, promptly, and diligently. He is a better class guy than the others in the area.
