Cortez Lock & Key is a family owned and operated locksmith business. We do all the work ourselves. We do not contract out any services. The owner does all the service calls. We answer our own phone and respond quickly to all calls. We are dedicated to giving our customers fast, reliable and professional service at the best value. Our repeat customers are our best testimony. We know that a large part of our thirty-two year success is founded on word of mouth. We work hard to ensure everyone has only good things to say about us. We have found that over the years our customers have become our friends. We have been serving Manatee County since 1978. Made call and he came right out. Worked fast and very nice.
He was great! Quick to respond, same day service. He was efficient and reasonably priced. This is the second time he has done work for us. The first time he came out on a holiday when I was locked out of the house and he got me in and made extra keys for me on the spot. He is very courteous, professional, and easy to work with.

I cannot say enough about the SUPERIOR SERVICE I received from Cortez Lock and Key. I have lived in 7 states and owned 10 different homes all of which I had the locks changed at least once at purchase and rentals more than once. Mr. Yazir's prices and service were the best I have encountered.
At my initial contact I informed Mr. Yazir of the services required. He was able to make an appointment in the requested timeframe. Mr. Yazir phoned about an hour prior to the scheduled service time to confirm the appointment. He arrived right on time. His appearance was immaculate, he was friendly, kind, efficient and very informative. He explained everything as worked. Had me test each lock as he completed it. He worked very quickly and cleaned up after himself immediately. Prices were great!
Mr. Yazir is a very personable gentleman and the moment he pulled out of my driveway I called my Mother (who lives in a condo) and told her that if she or any of the members of the condo association need a locksmith I just found the best!
And finally to my astonishment......3 days after the service call I received a note in the mail from Cortez Lock and Key thanking me for my business!!!!!!

I just want to say I love this Mom and Pop business! He knew what he was doing and offered good advice on things not working properly and he fixed them. We are new to Florida and do not know contractors in the area to call. I would highly recommend Mr. Cortez; he is honest and pleasant to have in your home. He also stuck to his quote and come to us to get permission first to do
any extra work.
Originally I was scheduled with another contractor I found on the internet. I looked for referrals on the internet and could only fine 1. I called to talk to him about this and he referred me to another site and also Angie’s list; I still only found 1 referral on Angie’s List. He said he was licensed and bonded and led me to believe he was coming himself. I was looking on the internet and found no recommendations on him except 1 referral. I called him back and he referred me to Angie's List and another web site to see the many referrals. I joined Angie’s’ List to see this guy’s many referrals he said he had… there was only 1. He didn’t come himself and when the service person call I reminded him that I wanted to see proof of Insurance and Bonding; he had no idea what I was talking about. This made me very uncomfortable. I canceled this appointment that I made with them during the week and called Mr. Cortez!
On the day I canceled the other contractor’s appointment, l call Mr. Cortez who got the job done! He even sent us a Thank you card following our appointment.
Thank you Mr. Cortez for making out family a bit safer.
