Computer Doctors

I called Computer Doctors and was given an appointment for the same day. Their technician, Russ arrived on time and was knowledgeable, congenial, and efficient. At Russ’s suggestion he removed Norton Security and replaced it with Microsoft Security Essentials. He suggested that I switch browsers and transferred my favorites from Windows Explorer to Google Chrome. He explained how making these changes would speed up my computer and make it run more safely and efficiently. Russ then checked the sectors on my hard drive and found everything to be operating normally. He also looked through many files and background programs shutting down and removing ones, which were unnecessary and slowing down my computer. He reconfigured my Windows Update program and ran what was called a Windows Tweaker to fix other operations. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my computer now runs like new. I would recommend Russ and the Computer Doctors to anyone who has similar problems. Unfortunately I continue to have problems with Windows Update (sometimes it successfully updates, sometimes it fails to complete updates).

Except for needing a new computer it went great. Russ made it look easy and made some great suggestions for the hardware and software. Cost listed below is the total for 2 trips, total working time was a little over 2 hours.

No real details, since I only know that part of Mircrosoft Vista failed to work after 6 years.  But, it took 1.5 hours to fix an OS problem. That's why he got the B rating.  I have no idea how he fixed it, but it has been working without any problem since April.

We were very pleased with him.  He really did a good job.  The gentleman was very knowledgeable and he explained everything.  He made sure we understood everything and he asked if we had other questions.  He was very patient with us and he was very trustworthy.  We could not compare his pricing because he spent a long time with our computer.  We will surely use him again in the future.

This is a great company and I would use them again and again.

This is the 3rd time I've called in the past year (as I said, totally NOT tech savy ;o) and Russ always comes thru. He's always on time, always more than helpful and (unlike other services we've encountered) he never treated us like the tech idiots we are. I'd never call anyone else!

They are reasonable in price. They came out and did the work for me at my home. The guy that came out was excellent. I just wish they could've been a little more clear about the operating systems capabilities with my office program or anything real estate related.

We purchased a new printer from a local 'big box' store and were assured the installation would 'be easy' and if we had any trouble call them & they'd 'walk us thru it'.  It wasn't 'easy' and when we called the tech was so obtuse I had no idea what he was talking about in his techie jargon. I threw in the towel and called Computer Dr because Russ had been so helpful when we'd had him just a few weeks prior.  If you are totally computer illiterate like we are, Russ is a god-send!  We never have trouble finding enough to keep him busy answering questions for an hour.

Russ was wonderful - he was early (my appointment was 5pm on the day I called) - he was helpful - he did everything we asked and more (I am so NOT tech savy that I couldn't tell you what he did if my life depended on it - I just know it's fixed!) - we were more than satisfied with this service.  I'd call them back or recommend them to someone else in a heartbeat!  The cost was very reasonable and the service could not have been better!

I was very impressed with the professionlism and quality of the work.  I felt the price was quite reasonable.

Brad was prompt, knowledgeable and professional. He was familiar with the laptop problems I encountered and ran diagnostics to identify the cause. The cause of the problem was the video inverter. Since the age of the laptop was 7 years and far exceeded the expected life, I made the decision not to have the laptop repaired. Brad copied off my files from my hard drive onto a flash drive which I was able to load onto the new laptop I bought a few days later which is 4X as powerful and 25% of the original price of my failed laptop. Brad charged me a diagnostics price ($50) rather the $100 that I expected. I knew I was operating the original laptop on borrowed time so I was pleased to have gotten 7 years out of it.

My computer had been having problems for some time connecting the computer to the monitor on start up, but lately it wouldn't even start up correctly, or it wouldn't recognize the keyboard or the mouse.  Based on Angie's list reviews, I called Computer Doctors and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day.  The technician arrived right on time, listened to the description of the problem and got right to work.  He cleaned the dust out of the computer, repositioned the components inside, and thus was able to fix the first part of the problem.  He then got to work on the second part, where he found that there were too many unnecessary programs competing with each other, which was causing the computer to lock up at start up.  We worked together to identify necessary and unnecessary programs, and got rid of the unnecessary ones.  The computer has been running great ever since!

The experience could not have been better. My intitial call was handled promptly by Jeanette in a most friendly and accomodating manner. After describing my computer's problems, Jeanette arranged for an immediate service call with Brad. She was terrific to deal with and made me feel like a valued customer.
Brad arrived at my home exactly on-time as promised. He explained in great detail the problems discovered and the required repairs necessary to correct them and their cost. He took the computer with him to affect repairs, returned as promised with the computer completely operational. He made certain I was completely satisfied with the computer before leaving and urged that I call him should any questions or concerns arise.

Brad arrived on time and proceded to transfer data from my old computer to the new one. Set up the printer for use on my wireless network. When he tried to use a new adapter on my old computer it turned out to be defective. Returned at no charge the next work day and installed the new adapter. Very knowledgeable and professional.
