Initial visit was not good. Jose was condescending and not understanding the situation. Second visit included the branch manager. While they spent a lot of time, I was quoted $1700+ to “fix” the issue. Turns out Jose misdiagnosed the bathroom venting problem. Said venting never went anywhere and needed to cap it off in the attic. While I am not a plumber, I saw the situation- pipes had come apart from the junctions. No investigation- it was completely apparent. So either incompetent or fraudulent, do NOT use this company.

Our tankless water heater stopped working. We called to have It repaired. After examining the heater we learned that the control board and a few other things were in need of replacement. The original unit was twelve years old. The cost of repairs were such that it made sense to replace the heater. A new tank was ordered and installed the following day.

Ted was the nicest gentleman, very professional, and solved my stopper problem with no charge. I did not decide yet on garbage disposal since he advised I needed electrical work to put one in. Also, the company installs the Moen brand, which appears to be higher than some.

They were fabulous and I was very impressed. They did an excellent job providing an inexpensive alternative until I replace the commode. I will definitely recommend them and absolutely use them, again.

I have a plumbing services plan I pay monthly for and the hot water heater they installed is still under warranty. I called early on Christmas Eve and was told by their call center no one was answering (so much for 24/7 availability as advertised) so she put the appointment down for 6 days later as she said that was the earliest they had. I explained that is ridiculous as it means no hot showers, no clean dishes, etc. and she suggested calling another plumber. The thing is under warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called back on the 26th and was given the same bs. Never use these rip off artists. Terrible service.

They charged my mother over $300. They could have told her to go buy a new toilet and just have them install it, but they didn't, and they had to come back 3 times. The last time the guy came he actually turned her shoulder and told her to go sit down. Very unprofessional.

I would not recommend them to anyone.

They were good. I think they were a little high. There was nothing wrong with the quality of the work or the people. They were very nice young men and all like that, but I think their price was a bit high.

Plumber could not fix our water heater, yet charged us $129 for the "service call." In addition, he broke the latch on the unit. Supervisors have not returned our multiple calls for 3 months. We were told the $129 would be refunded, but it has not been, and it has been 3 months. Beware: the estimates are not free, and customer satisfaction is definitely not a priority.

BUYER BEWARE!!!
Having heard of Ben Franklin plumbing via advertising, decided to check the Angie's list reviews.  Due to the company receiving basically good reviews in the past, decided to call them for an estimate. The reason for the original inquiry was  due to a  severe leak in the main water feed line directly down stream of the water meter at the street level.
The technician  (Erick) arrived on time, and presented himself in a professional manner, informing the consumer of a $61 dollar service charge. After we agreed to pay that charge, Erick proceeded to "diagnose" the problem.
After about 20 minutes, during which he did gather a small sample of wet soil from within the meter box, Erick informed us that he would work up a cost for repair.
His price estimate was $1700 dollars. this included NO WARRANTY, due to using existing lines for the repair. To completely repair and replace the line the quote was $3600 dollars!
Prior to calling this company we were able to see water shooting out of the meter box into the air, indicating the leak was close to the meter itself,   When Erick arrived, the ground in the meter box was wet, but the box was not flooded, so that he could have easily seen the same thing. 
We subsequently called The Clean Plumber Phillip Maurici plumbing, who also came out to the residence.  Within10 minutes technician Kenny located the source of the leak (less than one foot from the meter, as well as a second leak right at the meter) and informed us that the price would be $269 dollars- WITH A ONE YEAR WARRANTY!!!  On top of that, they have a current coupon for $200 dollars of plumbing for $119 dollars! He completed the repair within about one and 1/2 hours, and was on his way.
I don't know what Ben Franklin thinks with this kind of pricing structure, but I can tell you that I will NEVER consider doing business with that company due to this attempt at OUTRIGHT PRICE GOUGING!
If the Ben Franklin tech had spent a little more time to remove a few small shovels full of dirt, the leak would have been obvious with the naked eye and therefore a more accurate diagnosis/estimate would have been done.
I have used several service providers from Angie's List, and very rarely need to post a negative review.

All they want to do is sell you something. After about 5 minutes of this guy working in the house, I could tell he just wanted to sell me something. They ended up selling me an air tap and I was disappointed. They extremely overcharge and I later found out the air tap they sold me was just an expensive add-on that used more energy than they promised.

• I reached out to this company after receiving positive feedback from a co-worker.
• The two guys that came out were very professional and I was vary confident that they where well trained and qualified to do this work. They did a good job at cleaning up the mess and tracks they made.
• I was very happy with how thorough they explained the issues and the options they gave me to choose from. At no point did I feel pressure to go with a more expensive option.

The only drawback, is that I felt they were a bit pricey. That said, the guys actually pulled out a booklet listing all sorts of parts and repair jobs - so at least I knew the prices were fixed even if a bit high.

They are very professional and do really good work, but they are a little high on their prices.
