I invite anyone interested in products or services from this provider (Arrow Fence) to read their response below where Arrow admits the problems to my gate. The down payment was made in May so that the gate could be ordered, the gate was paid for in full on July 31 as I have the credit card receipt. I never said I did not want to move the solar panel, but that is not the point as the batteries have worked fine since I opened the control box to program the remote receiver and noticed that the polarities to one of the batteries was reversed and the alarm wire was disconnected so that a low power warning was never received. I called Arrow Fence so that they could return to re-attach the wire and was told to attach the one battery correctly to see if that would resolve the battery problems. It did.
It is notable that rather than return a phone call to a client, Arrow Fence has opted to blame the client.
Be forewarned that you will be dealing with a company that seems to have an interesting approach to customer service.
Addendum to response from Arrow Fence: The authorized dealer for the solar gate that was installed on my property, D&D Garage Doors, came and repaired the defective system installed by Arrow Fence. Arrow Fence was contacted prior to the repair and given the opportunity, but they chose not to. I spoke directly with my sales person, Jim Collins, that told me he would "pass it along to the higher up, I never heard from Arrow Fence. The fence is working as it should, and my advice is to stay away from them at all costs, due to their lousy customer service.
"We appreciate your feedback and are just as frustrated as you. We installed your gates in May of 2013 at a price of less than $7000. We did come out several times to work on your gate, even after you tried to work on it yourself (which usually voids warranties). You have a solar powered gate, which means that if we have cloudy or rainy days, the gate runs on a backup battery which eventually will run out of its power. Both our technician and the manufacturer recommended we move the solar panel to a location where it will under the most sun. You did not want us to move the solar panel. We replaced batteries (after you changed the batteries around) which caused your gate to be down for less than two weeks while we waited for them to come in. At no time was your gate down for a total of three months. After a few more service calls were placed, we offered to switch your gate into a powered gate at absolutely no cost, you also refused that service. It has now been over a year and with the refusal of having us change your gate to power, we no longer can service your gate without having to charge you a service fee."
hired arrow fence to install fence in Florida home. I left specific instructions for no gaps along fence or two gates, We just recently arrived at our home and found numerous gaps along fence, though this could be due to rolling ground. I am most upset with gap at bottom of gates - two of our dogs have already gotten out. The worst issue is that they installed locks to gates on outside? It took three weeks to get their attention so they would rectify problem - only with company COO and head of installation.
Workmen reversed locks however did not put correct locks on and left hole. I then received a phone call from salesman who had the nerve to say my wife refused the proper locks - when in fact replacements were put on without discussion. In addition workers had indicated yjat posts and gate should have been lowered. Salesman indicated that correcting problem would be billed to us?
that ain't gonna happen
This company is quick to get your money - not so willing to correct problems Stay away
"Thank you for your response [member name removed]. I would like to state a few things also. You contacted our company almost a year after your fence was installed, stating that your locks were installed on the wrong side of the gates, you never mentioned anything about gaps. You wanted someone to come out immediately to fix this. First we needed to check with the owner of the company to see if this was something we would do without charging you (since it was almost a year later). The owner agreed we would send someone out without charge. We were not able to get out there right away because we had other installs scheduled. You placed several threatening calls, and we took care of you as soon as we could (two weeks after your first initial call). While on the job, your wife came out while our installer was changing the locks, stating she wanted her gates to swing the opposite way now. According to the original contract, you wanted the gates to swing to the outside. The changes to the swing of the gate was never discussed. When our installer told your wife that was something he could not do (because it was not stated on his work order), she then attacked him verbally and told him to leave her property. I'm sorry you feel that you did not have a good experience with us, but I'm not sure that there is anything more we can do at this point to satisfy you. Again, we are truly sorry."
The old fence was torn down and the new one installed in 2 days.
We realized one gate had no inside lock and they returned to install one.
Great people, great product.
9/18/14 I called Arrow fencing and told them I wanted them to come see the fence. They came out and agreed that the fencing was not right and they would make it right. The next day they sent two men out who corrected all the problems and it now looks wonderful. I would recommend them seeing how they fixed it so fast.
"We appreciate your feedback on your fence and apologize for the delay in getting your fence completed. Unfortunately, our shipment on the material was a few days late arriving to our warehouse. Regarding the gaps on the fence, it is my understanding that our installer discussed this with you. We assumed that all was good with the install because you signed off on the job as completed. If you would like, we will be more than glad to come out to see what we can do."
