Animal Hospital at Lakewood Ranch was established at our original location in March 2003. We moved to our newly renovated building at 9115th Drive East, Bradenton, Florida in 2013. The new 8000 sq. ft. modern facility is located directly on state road 70 one mile east of Interstate 75. The new facility has state of the art medical, surgical and dental suites, in addition to our private boarding rooms. We are able to accomadate more pets for medical, surgical, dental, grooming and boarding in the comfortable clean spacious facility. Dr Siems, Dr. Fellman and Dr. Cohen are available for medical and surgical consultations 6 days a week. Please call for an appointment. Appointments preferred, walkins accepted. Patients: Dogs, Cats, Rodents, Rabbits, Ferrets, Birds & Reptiles.

On the surface it appeared our cat had two abscessed teeth. The Doctor said he could easily remedy the issue but was concerned about how much liquid she lost. He suggested we run a blood test on her before we started the work. We had the blood work done and as it turned out she was in final state of kidney failure. She was 18 but looked and acted healthy (she did drink lots of water - now in hind sight it was a sign we did not pick up on). The abscess teeth were too much for her. We had to put her down as it would have been too much on her to fix the teeth and than work on her kidney issue which was terminal. We could not put her through that. The staff was courteous, professional, caring, honest, and very sympathetic.
We told the staff we would never own another pet. Even though the staff knew our cat was our only pet they sent us a sympathy card. The card was signed by the entire staff. The messages were clearly written by people who truly cared about the life we saw sink away in such a short week end. 18 years gone. The card was from the heart - not an advertising gimmick. As it turns out our granddaughter had to find a new home for her cat. If it not for the caring staff at Animal Hospital at Lakewood Ranch we would have passed on it.
