This review of a moving company broker, New Leaf Moving Group, DOT# 3423043, out of Boynton Beach FL, is written to share my disastrous moving experience with this organization. First of all, the so called “binding estimate” given me by them was, in my opinion, deliberately low-balled, and the actual price I had to pay the movers when they arrived the night, (not the day) before my house closing was almost double in price, in spite of my very precise inventory list given to, and discussed with, Steven Williams at New Leaf. When the movers finally arrived at night and I called New Leaf to complain about their unbelievable increase in the moving cost, Gina at New Leaf was no help at all. I felt like a hostage held for ransom, because my house closing was the next day as they all knew. In the second place, it seems to me that New Leaf hired one of the worst and most unscrupulous moving companies out there as I had damage, broken items, and a missing table. Once again, after the delivery of my furniture, and seeing the results of this move, I called New Leaf and talked with a Stevenson Clark whose weak response was, they “were looking into” the situation, and then he never got back to me. I moved from SC to RI, but had to put my furniture in storage for 1 month so insurance was not available. My home sold fast and I had to be out very quickly, so I relied on a broker to handle the move. Because of this whole moving debacle, the sale of my home couldn’t take place the next day. But, based on my experience with New Leaf Moving Group, I would never, ever, hire, or recommend them, as they were both totally untrustworthy, and unconcerned regarding damages. Complaint after complaint on the BBB website cites the same issues-being gouged with overpricing at the last moment, unnecessary/unreal charges, damaged items, missing items, etc. Based on reviews, they continue, knowingly, to hire the worst, most disreputable moving companies for their moves. New Leaf Moving Group has a D+ BBB rating. Please read their reviews. I would rate them F-
