I could not say better things about this company. I was buying a car sight-unseen in Florida (I am in California) and the dealer referred me. They could not have been more honest and saved me from a costly mistake. Cannot more highly recommend.

When I moved to this area, Johnny's Family Automotive was recommended to me by my cousins. They were devoted customers for many, many years. I have become another devoted customer. Whenever I have an auto worry or question, I can always rely on an honest, reliable, and very fair priced response from F.A.. And to top it off, Johnny and his crew are sooo nice !!!

Family run business but ran very well, carefully.

Service was good now iI use them for car maintenance, oil change etc.

Emailed them on 2/11/16 to find out fees for a project and have not heard back from anyone.

Excellent!! We had no idea what was wrong with our 1997 RAV4 (beach-mobile) but it wouldn't start after a few hours at the beach. Once we got it started the doors kept locking and unlocking themselves.  We weren't sure if we needed an exorcist or a mechanic so we brought it to family automotive where we have been going to for several years.  We needed new bushings which they ordered and it was found that our after market security system had indeed become 'possessed' so we asked them to just remove it ... I guess we can go back to the old lock and key method!

The work was completed within 2 hours and the price was reasonable.  Thought for sure this was going to be the end of our beach mobile!!  SO glad it wasn't!

Will definitely continue to use family automotive!!

They are great. Get there early though, no appointments. The line starts by 7:00 am they open at 7:30 and it is first come first serve. They keep their customers cars running well. A nice find in Southern Florida, honest car repair.

I have had other work done beside just buying tires at Family Automotive and its always been positive experience. (Radiator replacement being the most major.)
Recently, I bought tires at Tire Kingdom for my other car before this, and as usual, they tried to sell me something else along with what I wanted. This time they told me my tie rods were broken and needed replacement.
So before falling for that, I checked myself, tie rods seemed fine to me. Just to be sure, I went to Family Automotive and told John what they said. He smiled and said let me take a look. He checked my car out FOR FREE and said no, they weren't broken and that the rubber gasket was just worn, and that it was OK to drive. No charge, no BS. He said next time you need tires call me and I'll give you a price.
I did just that and he gave me a good price. Brought my car in the next morning and he put them on and it was done by 10:00 am.
They always call you before performing service and give you accurate quotes and call you right when the work is finished. What they quote is always what they charge. He has checked things for free for me on both my cars. The front office is very and quot;no frillsand quot; but they give you personal attention and I trust them.

I took my car in because I was concerned at a few things that were happening to my engine / car. I dropped the car off because I didnt wanna wait. they called me within a few hours and told me they found nothing wrong. I was confused because I was sure something was wrong. They told me that the things happening were normal for my mileage. I told them to change the oil and I will pick it up the next day. Well the day after I brought it home it started leaking oil. I wasnt sure if it was oil but a day later I confirmed that it was indeed leaking. Now since ive had this car it gas given me quite a few problems but one thing its never done its leaked. I took the car back..I was then told it wasnt oil leaking it was anti freeze. I was then informed I would need to have the thermostat replaced. I was quite puzzled because again, my car never leaked much of anything before I took it in. I didnt wanna argrue with them so I just told them to go ahead and fix it. I picked up my car the next day. Needless to say I wont return.

Just looking over the entire car I was very pleased. The car had not been maintained, and it is about 11 years old, so there were a lot of things it needed. I have had good feedback from a number of people telling me to use Family Automotive, so I did. They were extremely honest. They didn't tell me that I needed something I didn't. When you call, he takes all the time you need. You don't feel rushed or brushed off, and that was appreciated. This is a small family place. They don't take appointments. It is first come, first served. They are always busy. The pricing is excellent. It is a homey-folksy place. I would use this provider again.

Do expect quality work at a great price.

Don't expect a fancy waiting room with tv's, etc.

Tom Checked it out and told me the clunking came form the struts and teh aircontioning noice was the compressor He advised me to do nothing because the overall cost of $600 for new struts and $800 for the air conditioner was more than my 1998 Camry ( with 136,000 miles on it) was worth. He did say the car was fine to drive. I thought that he was being honest and that knowing full well that he could have tried to scare me into getting the car fixed. I will definitely go back to Family Automotive.

They do a great job, and also take good care of my family.

We find them very honest. They'll send you elsewhere if they can't do it. I find them very good.

When we walk into the place, it looks like the last place in the world that could do any quality work. They are located in a second-rate-looking strip mall. It almost looks like a storefront operation. There is a little waiting room that is 10-12 sq. ft. in size with a desk in it where the receptionist sits. It is literally a family operation. I had to wait quite a bit of time. I saw a lot of old people and women there, and everybody raved about these people. I asked them to check out if I needed new tires because I could see that the tires were at the end-of-life phase. He told me very specifically that I had 3000 to 5000 more miles of use out of the tires and told me to hold on to them for a while. I gave them an open-ended opportunity to make $400-$500 on a new set of tires, and they told me to wait; that to me is a commendable action. The prices were very reasonable. The only complaint is that they have so much business that I have to wait to get anything done. There is no such thing as a reservation; it is a totally first-come-first-served operation. I went in for lubrication at about 9:00 in the morning and did not get out till close to 11:00. I could have gone elsewhere and got it done in quarter of the time. I have gone to a lot of mechanics here and none of them is fast, so I do not see their lack of punctuality as a severe detriment. The price of the lubrication was $27 and the flat tire repair was about $14. I have not had a serious mechanical job done, so I don’t really know how good their quality is; nevertheless, I feel very confident going over to guys like that. I would continue to use them without hesitation.
