About us

Philip spent over 25 years in a 3rd generation 76 year old family business supplying and servicing the Food Service Industry in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland. That client list included large chains like McDonalds and Burger King; and, many others, including ‘Mom & Pop’ operations. The family business continued to expand into remodeling and building commercial and residential properties. After moving his family to Florida in 2003, Philip went to work for a prestigious Naples Marble & Granite Company. He continued his servicing and selling experiences now to home owners, builders and contractors in South West Florida. His hands on servicing expanded into designer flooring, and custom granite and marble fabrication to meet every need of his clients. [email protected]

After dealing with contactors for over 40 years from simple carpet replacement to building 3 homes & a 6,000 sq ft office building, I have found that contractors can succeed or fail in 3 areas: staying within budget, completing the job in a timely manner and doing/supervising work quality. Unfortunately, we hired Phil Young and Custom Floors & Counter Tops to remodel our bathrooms, and, in my opinion, they failed in all 3 areas. 1- They grossly blew off our budget. As an example, the plumbing was well over double than what they allowed. And not only was this not disclosed to us at the time, it let them gouge us for more ill be gotten gain based on the higher cost. 2- They allowed what should have been a 3 ½ month summer job to drag on to an 8 month nightmare. We came home to an incomplete job and the place was a pigsty. 3- Instead of focusing on job quality, our project manager was out scrounging up new jobs. We had poor communications, needless mistakes and a schlocky job. Finally, they forced me to pay them in-full before the job was finished with coercion & threats, which was a breach of the contract. Based upon my experience, I think Young & Classic Floors are the worst ever and believe one should run away from them to find a reputable contactor. I would give them zero stars if I could.

The renovation was a major over haul of the entire house, and we negotiated with two contractors who could not meet our schedule before we were assured by Phillip, the Owner of Classic Floors and Countertops that they could meet our schedule.  We wanted to have the house ready prior to the holidays in 2015 and we signed a contract in early September, and we were assured that the work would be completed by the end of the year.  They met the schedule that no one else would commit too.  Schedule is always important, but we can say that quality was not sacrificed and we are very pleased with the result of all the work.  We found Phillip to have great ideas that we implemented and his team was responsive and quick to address any issues that arose.  On a major remodeling project like this, things will arise and its the way they are resolved that counts.  Classic Floors and Countertops always put quality and their commitment to us first.   We are very pleased with the work and recommend them.

Once the tile was in stock, everything went extremely well.  The office was was very helpful in acquiring tile, and the installers did a beautiful job.

Design was excellent. Workmanship very good. Happy with finished product. Sub contractors not always prompt and not always provided perfect work. Mistakes were always promptly fixed

When I first met with Phil the meeting went well. His showroom has more tiles than you can imagine and he is very professional and well informed. He helped with pick out the tile and installation to follow. The entire process was seamless. I can't say enough good things about Classic Floors and Phil Young!
