US Installation Group

This was without question the worst contractor I have ever used. They were so awful at coordination and logistics I ultimately fired them before they ever installed the new floors. This occurred based on the following set of experiences: 12/1: New floors ordered at Home Depot. I was specific that I needed installation completed on 12/27 due to holiday plans and guests. 12/2. US Installation Group calls me to introduce themselves. I attempt to confirm the install date. I am advised that they do not confirm installation until the wood has been received by Home Depot. After several calls I get this resolved and confirm the install date. 12/5: My condo association requires architectural modification documents and samples of sound mitigating materials. I contact USIG and advise them that this is a very tight turn and we need to get this information to my building ASAP. I email UGIG the application packet with all of my sections completed. I am assured they will have it into my building within "the next couple of days." 12/17: Floors arrive at Home Depot. I call my building to assure the install has been approved so I can have the floors delivered. I am advised that USIG has sent no information. I call USIG to check in. They say the paperwork will be there "tomorrow." 12/18: I call my building. No paperwork. I now have the floors scheduled to be delivered on 12/20 and cannot have them delivered without building approval. 12/19: No paperwork. I am assured by USIG that the paper work will be in before the delivery arrives the next day. 12/20: No paperwork. I have now called USIG twice daily for the last few days and they have done nothing to act. My floors are scheduled to be installed on 12/27. On 12/26 I call my building to verify that everything has been completed.....still no paperwork from USIG and installation is not approved. I call USIG multiple times. I am told that the paperwork is sitting in their compliance department and that they are "out of the office due to the holidays and will not be back until tomorrow." The PROMISE me the paperwork will be in before the installation team arrives. 12/27: Installer arrives, no paperwork. I call USIG they promise it by 10am...nothing. I call back...the promise it by 11am...nothing. I call back. They promise it in 30 minutes...nothing. FINALLY, at 12:05pm the paperwork is emailed to my building...incomplete. I finally send the the install team away. The general manager of USIG then calls me and attempts to blame everything on the Home Depot. When I asked why is took 3 1/2 weeks and countless calls to have them complete routine paperwork they had no answer. I advised him that install would not occur until I worked things out with the Home Depot but they sent and installer anyway on Monday. I sent him away as I now had guests in my home and was not willing to have my floors torn apart with guests in the house. I will NEVER allow these people in my home again.
