Straight Edge Painting & Design

We were extremely happy with Straight Edge, Lance and his entire team.  They did a meticulous job, they were very professional and the work was superb.  We even asked Straight Edge for a quote to paint the outside of our entire house, and we fully intend to use Lance and his team.  We are not going to bother with other quotes because Straight Edge did such a great job, we are not going to even try anyone else.  Thanks again to Straight Edge, Lance and the entire team.

Lance was very professional. He was very neat and no drips on the floor or smears on the ceiling. I have recommended him to a friend. I would not hesitate to call him again for any painting I need done.

I really learned the difference between someone who paints and a real painter.
While getting quotes to paint the building, I got a number of 'real good deals' and it was clear that everyone would do two coats of paint and use the two tones that I requested. But when talking to Straight Edge, it became clear that the sealer they used, and using special paint for the stairs and the railings were important. Before the repainting, the stairs that were previously painted were very dirty looking and the paint didn't seem to be very durable. And the paint on the metal railings was all chipped. In general, it all looked bad.
I waited a couple of months before writing a review so I could see how it was all holding up, and it looks great! In addition to using special paints for the metal and the stairs, they recommended a slightly darker paint for the stairs. It's a good matching color and now, 2-1/2 months later, it looks almost untouched. Everything looks just like it did when they did the work.
In the past I've seen painters who apply thin paint and sometimes only put a second coat on where it looked like one was obviously needed. These guys put on thick, heavy coats.
And as a bonus, they were all very friendly, and clearly had worked together a lot. They weren't just some people who just met. They all seemed to know what the others were doing and nobody looked like they were covering for someone else's work. The job took a few hours longer than they expected but the entire crew showed up the next morning to finish. Nobody looked rushed, and they worked at the same pace until it was done. I'd rather someone take the time to do something right than to rush, and they did do it right.
I will definitely use them again, and not just because I hope to get the same quality of work but because I feel I'll get the same quality of people, and for me, that's what repeat business is all about.

Lance came out on schedule. The paint and pressure washing came out great. I would highly recommend this company for all your painting needs for your home. I know this is one company I will call when I need painting.

Lance and his team are extremely professional, reliable, and honest.  We felt very comfortable having them work in and around our home.  They were always on time and finished the projects within the estimated timeframe, if not earlier.  His attention to detail and honesty made the slightly higher price well worth the investment.  We plan to hire Straight Edge Painting & Design in the near future.

I met with Lance Shackleford a few times before we started this project.  Once for the estimate and the other times to drop off paint swatches and to paint possible colors on my walls for review.  Each time he was prompt and very polite, and our house can be a little hectic with 3 kids and a dog.  He was unflappable.

The people that he employs are courteous, respectful, very polite, clean and neat.  I felt very comfortable with them in my home.  They were extremely quiet as well.  I've never had so many people in my house and have it so quiet. 

I met with several company's before I settled with Straightedge Painters, and I was very happy with my choice.  I know that I got a fair price with an amazing job.  I will be using them in the future to paint our remaining rooms.

When I called, Lance answered and I asked if he would paint parts of the house or did he only paint the entire house, as most of the other companies I  called said they would only take the job if it was the entire exterior.  Lance came out and arrived on time and we reviewed what was going to be replaced and that I needed everything caulked and sealed prior to his painting.  He emailed me the quote that night clearly explaining the cost to paint partial as well as the entire exterior as I asked. Once the soffits & facsias were replaced, I emailed Lance that I was ready for him to paint.  He replied that he would get back with me as due to the rain it was not clear as to when the painting could be scheduled.  Once scheduled he arrived on time to prep the areas and over three days he and his crew meticulously completed the job, working with the weather of course, as it all had to be dry as they worked.  Lance completed most of the work and just kept going until it was done.  The process was professionally handled and completed and I felt comfortable that the job was done well.
Soon I expect to have him come back to paint the whole house.  Thank you Lance.

Contacted company and owner Lance came out same day for estimate, and is an affable guy and offered a very reasonable bid. Seems to look at things through the eyes of the customer which is great. When the time came, he and his crew are very professional, great communication by phone and text with any questions, and the experience was very painless throughout. Highly recommended.

We couldn't have been happier with the results. Lance had such a professional attitude and is a perfectionist, which we loved. Every detail was attended to even to the point of painting things we hadn't even considered. The job was done in a timely manner as he promised. Lance pressure cleaned entire exterior of home, applied bonding sealer to all surfaces that would be painted, patched, caulked etc. wherever needed. We chose to have two coats of paint. He also quoted us for one coat but we decided to do it right hoping it will last longer. All labor and materials were included in the price. Top quality paint was used. At first we thought the price was a little high but as we observed the care taken and the wonderful results, we concluded that the job was worth every penny. We would never call anyone else to do a painting job for us. We then hired Lance to pressure clean and seal our driveway with two coats of sealer. Looks great. In conclusion, you won't be disappointed in hiring Lance and his company Straight Edge Painting and Design.

Very professional and did a fantastic job.

The process went great from start to finish. Lance, owner of Straight Edge Painting came out the same day we called for an estimate. We received a written estimate the same day! The other companies we called took days to even come out and then even longer for something in writing.

We had only planned to paint the exterior of our home, but Lance said he would pressure clean the roof and driveway for us for a very reasonable price. He explained he was there anyway with the pressure cleaner and our roof really needed it.

Lance and his crew were onsite and on time everyday. Lance also kept us in the loop on what to expect each day (letting us know when to move our cars, schedule pool cleaning after pressure cleaning, etc.). He really treated the process like it were his own home. He didn't 'assume' we would just know what to expect, which was refreshing when dealing with some contractors.

We had such an amazing experience with the exterior we decided to bring him inside to paint our kitchen and bathrooms.

We again received the estimate in writing the same day we requested him to take a look. The crew was neat and very respectful of our home. I noticed that they even mopped the floors prior to leaving my home to make sure all dust that was disturbed was taken care of. They all finished sooner than expected and everything looks amazing! WE CALLED FOR AN ESTIMATE,   MR. SHACKELFORD CAME OUT THAT SAME DAY AND GAVE US A PRICE WHICH WAS VERY REASONABLE.  THE JOB WAS STARTED ON THE DATE HE TOLD US AND HE SHOWED UP EVERYDAY UNTILL THE OUR HOUSE WAS COMPLETED.  THE WORK WAS DONE VERY PROFESSIONALLY AND WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THE BEAUTIFUL JOB HE DID. HE IS ALSO A VERY NICE GENTLEMAN TO DEAL WITH AND WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE.
