Shadestar

The original company that installed his awning was unresponsive to his calls. I went on Angie's list and found Walker Awnings nearby. He did not carry what we needed but graciously recommended ShadeStar, Florida. My friend called Mr. Albert Chung at ShadeStar and he made an appointment to give an estimate on replacing the old awning. He came out on time, made many helpful suggestions on style, color, and tips on what was and was not needed in this situation. He gave a quote of $3,700, which was within my friend's expectations. A deposit was given and Mr. Chung gave us a time schedule of what work would be done and when. He called later and told us the motor that was needed had to be shipped from Germany and would take longer than expected so he had it shipped air at his expense. He always called ahead to confirm our appointments, and he always showed up on time. My friend requested a flashing to cover the gap the old awning had between the house and frame that allowed rain to drip in. Mr. Chung picked up the flashing on one of his trips but upon going on the roof he discovered the tiles extended past the house line and there was no need for the flashing. He returned it at no cost. The awning was completed on time and exceeded our expectations in quality, looks, and efficiency. He relocated the motor and speed from where the previous company had placed it, to a more logical position which facilitated ease of operations. He later called to make sure we were satisfied and to let my friend know that he was available anytime he needed him. We cannot recommend this company enough. The personal care they gave is worth the highest rating I can give.
