The crew arrived on time.  They were able to repair the broken sprinkler head and line in an acceptable amount of time.  However, when it came time to turn the sprinkler system on, to make sure water actually flowed through it by the timer control, they were baffled as to how to program the timer.  They tried, assured me it worked, and left.  When I went to manually test the timer control, no water flowed.  I called the company around noon, and was told they would call me back.  By 3pm, no one had called me so I called again.  The person who answered was one of the crew members, who again said he couldn't figure out the digital timer, and that I should operate the system manually by the wires outside the home.  There was no way I was going to attempt to touch wires together on an electrical system so close to water.  I advised him I would contact the BBB and was put in touch with the owner.  The owner said I should have specified that I wanted water to come out of the system (??) and specifically asked for the tech who had responded previously (??).  How would I know who can/cannot do a full job for the company?  Wouldn't every lawn sprinkler customer want water to flow through the system automatically without waking up at 5am to touch wires together?  I was told 3:30pm was "too late" to send a competent employee out to finish the job, but I couldn't see taking another day off work because of their inability to program a Rain Bird (very popular brand) timer.  The BBB was unable to resolve the matter amicably.  The original crew had left a shovel behind and my attempt to return it to the company was met with the juvenile response "the customer can keep the shovel."  I had to contact another resource to actually complete the job.  
TL;DR The company can fix broken heads and lines, but can't program digital timers.  You have to specify you want water to come out of the sprinklers, and ask for competent employees by name.  The owner is rude.

They were very good. They wasted no time and were extremely efficient. They have been in business since 1946. It took them two days to complete the work. It works wonderfully now and they saved us from having to replace our sprinkler system entirely.  Their estimate was one of  most reasonable compared to other companies I had spoken with.

He seems like a great guy. He deals with do it yourselfers or he will do repairs and installation. He is very helpful and did a good job. He has been in business for a long time and I have never heard any complaints about him. I will use him again in the future.

My experience was very good. They came out when they said they would and they were willing to work around what time I would be home. They gave me an estimate before they did any work. I am going to hire them again.
