We just had our first experience with Mike Holmes warranty claim. Our AC stopped working and we their provider came out the same day. The claim was approved the next day and the faulty capacitor was replaced. Thank goodness we are out of the heat. Thank you!

Absolutely avoid this company! They engage in deceptive business practices and use delay tactics to frustrate and exhaust customers. My claim involved a refrigerator with parts that were no longer available due to age of the appliance. The company authorized a reimbursement of $341.59 for the estimated cost of those parts. I submitted the claim and followed up via email to ask how long the process might take. I was told it could take 4–6 weeks. For such a straightforward reimbursement, this seemed excessive. After a little over six weeks, I still had not received the reimbursement check. The company then offered to either apply the reimbursement toward a new policy or cancel the original check and issue a new one (check #2). I declined the policy offer and requested a new check. A few days later, I followed up to ask if the new check had been issued. I was told it had and that I should receive it “any day.” Seven days passed, and still no check. I asked them to investigate again. Now, for the third time, they are claiming to cancel the check and reissue another one. This is highly suspicious. In over 14 years at my current address, I do not recall ever having an expected check fail to arrive. The repeated delays and excuses suggest a deliberate stalling tactic. After multiple emails and phone calls, a check finally arrived (and supposedly took 3 attempts) . Prior to its arrival, I sent an email asking for confirmation of the amount. That email was ignored. When the check arrived, it was for $141.69 — nowhere near the $341.59 I was originally told. An explanation has yet to be provided. From the time I satisfied the required claim documentation, this process has taken over two months. The company has employed delay tactics and erected painful hurdles throughout. It’s clear their strategy is to wear down customers until they give up. They hoped I would go away. They thought wrong. Consumer Advice: If you find yourself in a similar situation with this company, I strongly recommend the following actions: * Document all communications and dates meticulously. * File complaints with the BBB Serving Southeast Florida & the Caribbean, FDACS, and the Florida Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. * If fraudulent behavior is suspected, report them to the FTC. * Share your experience on public platforms like Facebook, Google, Trustpilot, etc. * Contact Mike Holmes and let him know how his name is being used. Just web search for "contact Mike Holmes" (since URL's are not allowed on here). * Review your contract for jurisdiction clauses—most allow you to pursue legal action in your home state. * If you go to court, consider the possibility of suing for damages beyond the disputed claim due to deceptive business practices.

Last year, I paid one thousand dollars to get my heater repaired and it took 4 days to get someone out here. It was fall and it was already cold. I was very worried. I took out a plan 3 months ago and called in for my stove 2 days ago. They came out and replaced the burner the next day. My stove works great and I didn’t need to wait. I know I can count on this company.

I am very cautious about who I let into my house. I was comforted that they only send technicians that have background checks into my home. I called for my washer and the person who came was friendly, explained what was wrong with the washer, even showed me the part they were going to replace. He had it in his truck and did it the SAME day! This is a great service y’all are providing. I recommended you to my neighbors too!
