"estimate was given to the customer while at his house.Once again i have given his the estimate via text msg .In a case like this i cannot explain how many times the prices has to be explained to someone when discussed twice already . When we are doing a self leveling cement we always charge per each bag since its hard to determine the exact amount that would be used especially in this case 400 sqf the difference in levelis almost 3 inches in this matter it means it could be anywhere from 6 to 15 bags or more. This is why we charge per bag since we do not want to drag a customer into more expenses. Mr. [member name removed] did not call during hours of operation instead he called and text at 9:27 pm !! and 11:00 pm !! This is totally disrespectful towards my family and myself. I am attaching a screen shot picture from my personal phone to show the conversation between us which indicated that estimate was in fact provided and it also shows the time the customer contacted us.I hope this will be acknowledged by Angies List and will be posted for everyone to see."
"Thank you for the opportunity to work with you guys !"
Update in response to the company's response:
I will attach the texts (which clearly indicates the issue and includes pictures).
1. Price. $750 was good, hence the "B" rating. I'm not sure why that price would justify an excellent rating. I tie the price into the job performed and cannot in good conscience give it an "A."
2. Punctuality. KF came on time, hence the "B" rating. If KF came early I would have given an "A" but I'll agree with you in the fact KF came at the appointed time. I have changed that review to an "A."
3. Professionalism. This is part of the issue. Our understanding was this was a water based stain and finisher or "all-in-one." We chose this option over the oil based due to the lack of smell when applied. Our lack of understanding of what was put down is an issue. Our understanding in general is that a stain is applied, then a poly finishing coat on top to seal it. We understood that KF used an all-in-one containing both. Clearly we are not the professionals but if only a finisher was used why was a stain marker suggested to be applied over the trouble spot? An "B" for professionalism would be justified if KF came back and took care of the spot by the door (see text messages and pictures). This is my main complaint. The mark was glaring, obvious, and I had an issue with it. I'm not sure how KF left a job with that there.
4. Scratch on the floor. Per the text messages, we sent pictures of the scratch and an explanation. That is our fault which is fine. KF is not accountable for that. I asked KF to come back, re-do the job (hopefully it would take care of the mark by the door as well), and let me know how much. KF doesn't have to do that job. That is fine. Just tell me up front (see text messages). Under no instance (see text messages) were we told that the floor can be sanded only once. Yes, it is a thin layer and we understood that at the beginning of the job but not to the extent it can only be sanded once. Again, why was this not made clear in the messages?
5. Recommendation. I never said that another company recommended KF. I found some customer reviews on-line which were good. I had called another company before that and they could not do the job due to the size of the room only being 200 sqft not because it was an engineered floor at all. That is when I called KF due to their on-line reviews. I decided to get an Angie's list account after our experience with KF to find another floor specialist to fix the floor. When I saw KF was on Angie's list was well I felt I needed to share my experience. Maybe if I had hired KF through Angie's list in the beginning things would have been different.
6. Sincere mention of fixing furniture. We made a two inch scratch in our armoire moving furniture. We asked KF to take a look at it and KF was kind enough to use their stain marker to stain the mark. When you say "fix" in your response that is a bit excessive. Sanding and re-staining is fixing. A stain marker stains the mark, not fix it. Thank you for your effort to stain the mark. It was appreciated.
7. The overall "C" is not for not taking the job to fix the scratch that was our fault. The "C" is for leaving the job with the mark by the door. It looks terrible. Look at the pictures again. This is why we wanted a professional to fix the spot that was part of the original job and not for us to use a stain marker . KF should have came right back and looked at it again. Is there a need to replace the board? What else be done? Was it the finisher? The onus is on KF to make sure the customer is satisfied with the job. I was not. The text messages are attached and clear. So I should have called as well to repeat what was in the text messages? If KF had come right back out and taken care of the spot by the door or just tried to fix it, I would have given a "B." Leaving the job with that mark and not coming back to look at it is just a fair job to me. Sorry.
"We are very shocked about your review especially since you have NOT called us once about this issue or emailed. We only received three text messages in which you did not clearly indicate the problem. We want to straighten out the negative review : * (overall experience) Our price rating was a "B"- During our phone conversation you said that the price was very reasonable. In Punctuality we also received a "B" from you but in your Member Comments you mentioned " KF came in on time." In Professionalism you gave us a "C" but everything was done with our agreements. During the our work when you were unavailable we consulted with your wife and she was making overall decisions. In descriptions of Work you wrote "Kingdom Floors sanded and applied two coats of water base stain to approximately 200 sqft room." This is incorrect. We DID NOT stain your floor we only applied 2 coats of water based finish as agreed. In Member Comments you wrote " Kingdom Floors (KF) was very responsive to take the job" Of course when the client is calling us we make sure we give them all the proper information and advice. You also mention that " Several areas did not take the stain" Once again we DID NOT stain your floors we only applied water based polyurethane. It is perfectly normal for the Floors to have lighter and darker spots thats just the natural beauty of the wood. About the scratched that you made yourself when moving the furniture we received pictures which indicated that we are unable to fix it because is was straight across the room ,wood grain and was very deep. We clearly explained to you that on engineered wood floors we can only sand it once due to the very thin layer of the veneer and this is why we were unable to sand the floors once more. In Share On Band of Neighbors you said YES, yet you told us that another company has recommended us because other companies did not want to sand engineered wood floors. You were not sincere to mention that we have fixed a scratched furniture with no extra charge that your wife has asked us if we could fix. Because we professionally decided not to go through with job that cannot be corrected you gave us a "C" We are very sorry but we are not responsible for the scratches to the floor. Maybe if you have called us we could have given you other options to fix the floor."
