Very few people look forward to the experience of remodeling their homes. There are so many stories of terrible experiences with Contractors about overcharging, quality, delays, etc. Our extremely positive experience contradicts this impression. Scott Obler met our needs, our budget, time frame & exceeded our expectations. Based on seeing a friend's remodeled home in Boca Raton, we wanted to hire their General Contractor but were afraid that he would be too expensive based on the quality of his work that we saw. We were encouraged to meet with Scott Obler & told that he understands his customer's needs and can provide services appropriate to the job and budget. Scott Obler is 3rd generation contractor & builder. His crew has been with him for many years. They are craftsmen, not laborers. After our initial meeting, Scott provided a detailed estimate of the the project, the estimated timing and price. The first sign indicating that G.S. Obler would be the perfect GC for us was when he called (before we hired him) to say that he thought that the measurements taken by the cabinet firm that I commissioned to design a kitchen plan, may not be accurate. Scott proposed that we ask the cabinet measurer to come back & remeasure while Scott was there. Practical adjustments were made in the plan which prevented us from ordering wrong cabinets and materials. Scott's insights led to the "perfect" kitchen design, saved us money & time. All this BEFORE formally hiring him. The work flowed smoothly. Problems were solved quickly & efficiently. (You never know what you will find behind the walls of an old building!) We asked 4-GCs to quote on the project. Scott was not the cheapest; however, we felt that he would provide the best return on investment of those considered. In fact, he came in on budget, 1-week earlier that expected & added some finishing touches that I know that other GCs would have added to the bill. In fact, he reminded me that i purchased & paid for 2-doors that he quoted in his estimate. He reminded me to deduct that from his final payment. Frankly, i would not have noticed this if not for his high integrity. We love our new home, thanks to the experience of working with Scott Obler. I would recommend G.S. Obler to all with the highest praise.
