UPDATE
He did called back a second time after reading this review and offered to drop program off to me that he forgot so i could activate Windows 7--
by then i called another service and paid another 75$ .
The new service company straighten everything out.
"When I first talked with [member name removed], he was having an issue with his laptop. It would turn on, but would not boot into windows. I told him that sounded like a bad hard drive and he should purchase another so I can reload windows onto it properly. He did not want to do that and instead had me come out just to diagnose it. I came out and diagnosed it like I had said. The hard drive was dead and he needed another one. He had another drive that was from a previous laptop. I cleaned a lot of stuff off of the drive. Then I tried to install windows on it. Windows would not install properly because there was something interfering with it. I could not fully wipe the drive because he still had important data on it. I had given him a windows reinstall disc and also put a driver reinstaller onto one of his usb flashdrives. I did forget to give him a small program that would allow him to use the driver installer because I was already there for an extra half hour and had tried to install windows twice onto the drive. I told him he could get the program he needed from a friend nearby or to go to the library and download it there. I thought I was helping him out since he had said he could reinstall it himself after buying and installing a new hard drive. Instead he told me he had gotten a virus from using a friend's machine and then had another technician from another company that has no association to Computer Doctors come and try to remove the virus unsuccessfully. Then he wanted me to come out for free to reinstall windows. I offered to help him over the phone to reinstall windows but he never followed up with me."
Just wish I could get stickers with the company name and number to put all over my computers. I'd like to add in the name of the tech that was sent here. His name is Daniel ... if you are able to request him DO SO. He's GREAT!

"We would like to respond that while cleaning out a system removing obsolete files, data, running utilities to rid of unused/unwanted software that are running in the background slowing system down including viruses, spyware etc,. It occurs at times where it may even render the system inoperable just simply due to the volatile nature of software. In this case it caused a glitch with customer’s magic jack which we were not aware of while we were on site but were told after we left. We did attempt to correct issue assisting over the phone and even remotely “ as customer acknowledged” Customer was not willing to contract additional service to resolve this issue as we had fulfilled time covered by coupon and we find regretful that even though problem did not reoccur and machine has worked better and fine since serviced “as customer acknowledged” we were graded “c” on quality of work and “d” on professionalism . I think we deserved to be graded better…"
