"We are sorry that you feel our company did not complete the work properly. The following is the true account of events that occurred, and we have several ways to track the progression. Before we began the job you stated how competitive our bid was and you appreciated all of our follow up. We collected the first payment from you and began the work less than a week later (the day after we received the permit). When it came time to collecting the second payment (at this point the job was complete), you began to ignore our calls. We called you and emailed you for a week before we were finally able to reach you. When we did reach you, one of our employees met with you that same afternoon to collect the second payment. When the employee met with you, you expressed to her how pleased you were with the work and how for the first time in sometime you were able to sleep through the night with heavy rains. You even went on the say how this was the heaviest rain we have seen in South Florida in sometime. You also expressed how your in-laws had recently had their roof done too and you were much more satisfied with our work. We made an arrange with you to collect the final payment 30 days post completion of the work because of financial reasons you had expressed at the time. We made an exception to our rules to accommodate your circumstance which is something we try to do for our customers. When the 30 day timeframe approached, we tried to again reach you several times and you would not answer our calls. We then decided to email you on several occasions and you chose not to respond. At this point, we sent you an email stating you would need to contact us or we would be forced to place a lien on your property which we surely did not want to do. After that email, you did send us a response and said that you were concerned that the roofing system was not put on correctly. At no point in your communication did you state that you had leaks on your roof. Surely if you had a leak, we would be out to correct the problem because we stand by our work. After you expressed concern about the system not being installed correctly, we had the manufacturer email you immediately. You did respond to him once and you have chosen not to respond since. We passed all inspections and we also are certified by the manufacturer to install the system we used on your property. As far as the additional costs, they were unforeseen costs that most would understand. You had an additional layer of shingle on the roof that we wouldn’t have known about until it was torn off. We charged you at cost (no profit, simply labor) for that. You stated the contract said we would cover this cost but nowhere on the contract would it state this because it is a cost that typically does not occur. Truth is, it’s now over 60 days passed the due date of your final payment and you have chosen to ignore our calls and emails as well as the manufacturers. We have several satisfied customers and we are sorry that you have chosen not to correct the situation. We would gladly correct the problem, if there is one and if we were given the opportunity to. You are making it very difficult to do so by ignoring all communication.
