From the moment of contact, it was great. We were buying our first home and were dealing with a lot of bank issues. we had a renovation loan & were jumping through hoops for months. Amir & Mark were a dream come true!! They were great dealing with all the hoops. Helped me w/ decision making. Assured me at the end of it all it would be worth it. Boy were they right! Our house is now a home thanks to all of their hard work. It exceeded all of our expectations!!

Amir took over this job after the previous contractor left it in a disastrous state. Much of the work done by the original contractor was not up to code and  all the permits were expired or about to expire. I interviewed five contractors and all but BC-5 declined to bid on the job because it was such a disaster. One guy wouldn't even look at it after he learned it had been started by another contractor. Amir was a life-saver. He came in and took immediate control, replacing the substandard work and straightening out all the problems with the various permits. Nothing faxed him. The whole first floor had been completely gutted; the kitchen, living room, master bedroom, master bathroom, and guest bathroom all had to be built from scratch. Now the place looks like a million bucks and we just rented it for a very substantial rent.
Amir is a professional and a problem-solver with a competent crew and quality subcontractors. He is a person of great integrity who is completely dedicated to doing the best job for his customer. I would recommend him unreservedly.

The workers were very professional and knowledgeable, they worked fast and clean, there was almost no drywall dust after the work, they knew what they were doing and in the end the only reason you know work was done is because we didn't have them paint it. The drywall work was good, but the overall design was excellent, they saved existing pieces to ensure that all the railings matched, and cut everything to size properly.
The two doors they installed were perfect, they knew just what we wanted and got it for us.
The owner came by to see how things were going and suggested a different transition between our family room and living room, his suggestion was perfect and looks way better than what we had come up with.
They cleaned up everything and vacuumed constantly as they worked keeping the place as clean as possible, in the end, I just had to run the vacuum in the house once and clean the bit of dust that remained which I was amazed wasn't considerably more for the amount of drywall cutting and removal that was done.
In the end, they were great. We were worried about hiring someone after all the nightmare stories we had heard about renovations going bad, but these guys were great. We will be calling them for other projects in the house in the near future.

Completely remodeled entire condo with the exception of master bath shower and guest bathtub.  This included a new kitchen, new flooring, walls, closets, doors, etc.  Amir provided professional service, was on time with project and within budget.  He was willing to work with the problems encountered and found solutions.  He also returned phone calls and was very involved with his men on the job.  I highly recommend his work.

The reason that we chose Bc5 (after interviewing 6 others) is that Amir (the owner) was able to clearly explain the work, estimate the costs (incl. a detailed budget), and estimate the timeframes including the timing to get permits approved with the county. Amir is very professional and organized, and that is why we chose his company.
One of the things that we really liked about Bc5 is that all of the costs are discussed upfront, and it is known what you are paying for. Amir could purchases materials for you, or you purchase the materials yourself.  In either case, they were not going to make any markup on the materials.  This was a very good arrangement.
After now having all of the work completed, we can honestly say that we are extremely pleased with the workmanship that was done in our house. Our house is 20 years old, but it looks like an entirely brand new house. The quality of the work is due to the attention to detail and strive for customer satisfaction that Amir has. He has a good team that supports him on all aspects of the project, but he is ultimately the one that signs off on all of the work.  In addition, Amir is always looking out for his customers whether it?s help with another small project around the house or anything else that might be needed.
We would definitely use Bc5 again in the future, and most likely will for our next house or investment property.

I had my master bathroom remodeled due to mold so it became a total gut. I wanted to reconfigure the layout so I needed help with ideas. I added a jetted tub since the bathroom only had 3 pieces before and plenty of room for a tub.  As soon as Amir walked in my bathroom, he had a ton of ideas. He put together a few computer images of some possible layouts and emailed it to me the next day. I had 2 other quotes before contacting BC5 and they had the best ideas and the most responsibly priced. Amir came by regularly to check on the progress of the work and if anything was not done to my or his liking it was to be fixed immediately. I'm picky too so when the shower head looked too high, even by an inch, they moved it where I wanted it without trying to get out of the extra work. Amir even helped give suggestions for the tile detail design. It was such a relief to have help making some of those decisions. They mixed the travertine tile so beautifully. I have had contractors not mix batches well and you can see the color difference (I said I was picky). I love the way the bathroom came out. I will use BC5 again. They make sure you are happy and do whatever it takes to make sure of that.

I contacted BC5 through Angie's List and the next mourning I received a call from them. I couldn't believe how prompt they were. Amir and I talked for a couple of moments and made plans to meet the next day. He arrived the next day on time and was open to all my suggestions about the work that needed to be done. The next day he arrived on time with his associate and the work began. I have to compliment Amir on his flexibility. I live in a condo with very strict parking rules. The parking lot that visitors have to use is quite far from the entrance but the BC5 team were up for the challenge and took it in stride. The job was completed on time and my backsplash looks beautiful. I even received a call later in the evening to ensure I loved the job. I just moved to Florida four months ago and most of my experiences have been bad concerning the updating of my condo. I mean either the work is half done or not at all. I even had to chase down one contractor to finish a job. I can now sleep better because I finally found someone with a great personality who does an amazing job. I should have looked at Angie's List a long time ago. If I had maybe I would have found Amir sooner.

First off, overall I'd hire Amir and his team again, however I think I'd make sure I'm there in person to oversee the work at each step.
We had just closed on a new home and asked Better Contractors to come in and do two projects:
1) Add a wall in the garage separating 4.5 feet from the rest of the garage, include a sealed door with deadbolt. (Eventually moved existing deadbolt to this door).
2) Knock out wall in Pantry to expose the 'under stairs' area, which we wanted to utlize as a larger pantry.  Asked that the new area be finished just like the rest of the pantry with drywall, painting, trim, and tile. (Tile was to be supplied by me).
They arrived on time the first day but unfortunately I was unable to be at the job site. I had to relay information through my brother who was on site to let them in.
The first area had some initial confusion about electrical that was to be wired by a 2ndary contractor, but in the end it worked out and Amir's team went above and beyond by pre-wiring some of the new wall for my electricians.  They also installed a spring hinge on the door to let it close automatically.
They completed the wall by the first day and had to come back a 2nd day to sand/paint the wall.   They used a 'primer' only initially and after it dried, it was clearly in need of actual paint.  Since it was something I asked for in the contract they went ahead and painted it, but it took a few more visits and a lot longer than it should have. When they arrived they did not have any white wall paint as agreed upon.  They asked if I had any spare paint from the painters who had just completed the house, but I did not have any white.   They asked if it'd be ok to paint the wall the same as the interior of the house and I told them it needs to match the rest of the room.  Either purchase and paint it white as the contract states, or they could use the interior paint I had extra from our painters. The only issue was if they wanted to use the new color and my paint, they needed to paint all four walls.  They understood this, but when I went back to check, they only did the one wall in the new color, and said they had no more time to do the other 3 walls.
The under stair area went much better at first.  The area was cleared and walled by the first day, and I brought the tile on the 2nd morning.  I had explained to Amir during our initial conversation that the area needed to match the other part of the pantry, but I wasn't there when they started to put tile down.   The rest of the house has the tile on a Diagonal , but they decided to tile the new area in a typical square pattern.  The result is we have a pantry with half the floor on a diagonal, a small threshold separator and the rest is square.  I suppose it's my fault for not being their when they started, but if I were laying tile next to existing tile, at least I'd ask if it should match the rest or not.  They also ran the wire in this area for a new light fixture that we neglected to think about so that was very convenient for our electrician.  When they left for the day on the 2nd day I asked when they'd return to do the grouting and finish the pantry area, and was told they'd be there by 9am on Saturday.   I later learned from another contractor that was there, that the workers mentioned "We aren't coming on Saturday", despite what Amir told them.  Sure enough, 9am came and no one was there to complete the pantry.  I ended up texting Amir and after a few more hours the guys showed up around 12:30 to finish the grout, but were clearly not happy about it.  Finally when they came after the grout set to install the baseboards, I noticed they only had 3" baseboards when the rest of the house and pantry clearly has 5".  They said "This is what the boss gave me".  I didn't press things at this point as I wanted to get this completed as we were already 2 days longer than expected.
The end result of the pantry is that it was done well, but some of the items done should have been different and would have been had I thought to watch them more closely. (tile orientation and baseboards).
The end result of the new wall is that it is functionable, but still has a few flaws. I noticed last night that the paint job on the outside of the wall is still too thin, and you can see every seam and drywall tape.  The interior part of the wall actually has a few buckles where the drywall meets, and the paint could use a 2nd coat.
All in all I'd still recommend Amir and his team for the following reasons:
1) Amir is very friendly and appears to genuinely care for the quality of work
2) Pricing is very reasonable
3) Most of the work completed was done so properly, if just not to my personal preference.
If you hire Amir, and I do recommend him, just be sure that you're onsite to keep an eye on the process.

Amir the owner is a great guy, I never thought I would say it but I consider him my friend now! I had several quotes for the work done given to me and Amir was the lowest, I was a little afraid at first, but after they began I saw progress going along fine. Like any construction you get unexpected problems, issues that no one can know until you find them and If something I learned is problems means money but Amir was always nice enough to help me with finding an affordable solution. My demo took a little more time than I wanted it to, but sometimes it was out of his control. His team was great, Eyal the project manager is the nicest guy around and always helped me with everything. After the buildout was finished, you will get to see tons of things, little touch ups, and what not but I never got one complain when I asked them to, In fact I have a couple of things still pending because I need my furniture to get in first and Amir is going to work on it to do the final touch ups when things arrive.
So my recommendation is have an exact list of what you need to do, don't assume that if you want one door that means 2 doors, everything you need to do is work and they will charge you so don't get upset like me if you get charged for something you didn't talk about before it. Also Amir does charge you 20% for all materials as a fee to get them, pay them and install it, so don't be surprised of this as well. You can go and buy everything but believe me its a headache, I purchased somethings and then just didn't care I hate Home Depot and I hope to God I don't ever need to go back so believe me its worth the surcharge.
Other than that, work was done great, and to my high expectations, his team is great and they work to make you happy. I would happily recommend Amir for any work big or small, he is a great person, and a great contractor who gets the job done, it was a learning experience to deal with my first project but let me tell you it was a good experience and Amir was a great teacher. I know for next time what to do, what not to do, but thats a different story, the important thing is that I was afraid of getting a bad contractor or having a bad experience, and to be honest this was truly a great person that I met and I look fwd to working with him in any other project I can hire him, I recommend you all get quotes from other contractors so you can see the pricing difference you will get, and then with this recommendation I hope it helps to convince you that Better Contractors are the people for you! I really hope this helps!

He was great. I like everything about him. He was personable, helpful. My husband was very ill at the time and he was very patient with my husband discussing what needed to be done. He was just an overall nice guy.  I probably didn’t get my money’s worth but that was my fault. I didn’t have enough or 3 hours’ worth of work for him to do. He just did the one repair I needed and left.

The owner of Better Contractors LLC (Amir) came in on time and quoted on the job I needed to be performed. I asked to re-quote on a portion of the job. They did and came out ahead of other competing bids. I asked them to perform the job which involved fixing and re-flashing of a second story sliding door window.

First day (Sept 30, 2013) ? He sent one of his guys to perform the job. The contractor couldn't perform the job because he didn't have a metal break appropriate to mold the flashing. He took measurements and left saying he would try to get it that day and if not call me. He never called. I had to call late that day and said he couldn't get it and that it would be a couple of days.

Second Day (Oct 7, 2013) ? He comes but had to reschedule due to rain. He said he would call me to set the date. Never did. I had to call him over and over again without response until I reached out the owner of the company and then he called me back. Terrible communication.

Third day (October 11, 2013) ? Contractor comes in late. It almost a week and a half and to get the pan done. Really? Came back and was only going to remove the bottom track to install the new flashing not the sides (the purpose of flashing is to prevent water from getting into the walls and then the house and to redirect it outside. No sides = water going into the house through there?
Pan was built too small and wouldn?t fit. Contractor decides to start cutting the back of it to install it that way? Humm? Now no sides and no back? What?s the purpose of a new one then? Unacceptable solution. He leaves says he has the right dimensions now and will have another one made and call me to reschedule. Once again, no call back. I called/texted multiple times with no response. Eventually I get a hold of the owner (Amir) and he has his employee contact me. The lack of clear communication is already extremely frustrating at this point. Anybody would appreciate clear concise contact back that would prevent having to reach out and contact them to schedule the job to be done.

Fourth and final day (October 25, 2013) ? Finally after innumerable calls/texts, the contractor says he has the right flashing for the job and is available to come out and install it. So 2 weeks later I am waiting home for him to show up. Bear in mind this is my fourth day of work (and pay) I have had to miss due ?attempting? to get this work done. I receive a late call from the contractor saying he can?t make it until past 11:00 am when he was supposed to be there at 8-8:30 am. Another day lost due to the contractor doing whatever he wanted and not paying attention to the customer?s needs? I don?t think so. I called the owner and was offered to cancel the service (he had been offered that option before), and canceled.

The owner may come back and respond to this review that I wasn?t charged and he was out the flashing cost and workman?s hours, but if your contractor can?t perform the job adequately, then why hire him and pay him?

If I was very upset that I missed all that time/money from work and achieved nothing in the end, and I know my boss was not happy that I had to miss those 3 and ½ days of work (once I canceled I went to work), then why is Better Contractors LLC ok with that?

We could not have be HAPPIER with the service that we received from Amir and his crew.  First, I could not disagree more with the negative reviewers.  Amir has been timely, always called back immediately, came exactly when he said and went above and beyond with everything he did.  We remodeled our daughter's closet then went on to do doorhandles, some plumbing, sink handles, etc.  Amir is creative and efficient, he knows how to get things done no matter what it is.  Not only would I HIGHLY recommend him, I would have him in my home again and again!!!

"First and foremost, we are very sorry that you were at all disappointed in our company. Better Contractors is dedicated to building positive and amicable relationships with its customers, and we never want to leave anyone unhappy in any way. When we spoke with you over the phone prior to our visit to your home, we asked you for the details of what projects you wanted us to complete. At that time, customer told us that the project was “replacing a door trim around one door.” Realizing that removing and replacing trim around a door, under normal circumstances, would fall within a 3 hour window (or less), we came to the home prepared to spend the 3 hours that was purchased by you for whatever services fell within that timetable. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was clear that the entire FRAME (not just the outside trim) of the door was destroyed and would have to be removed and replaced. Any contractor will tell you that this job requires more than 3 hours to finish properly, i.e. removal of existing frame, picking up and replacing new frame, painting & completing project. I informed the customer that there would be an extra hourly charge over the 3 hours purchased for completing this project, and she declined. We offered from that point to do whatever projects requested that would keep the cost to $99, but the individual jobs she had would have taken longer than 3 hours, and in each case she declined due to the fact that these projects would take her beyond the 3 hour window of time. I fully understand that the average consumer does not know how long a project will take prior to hiring a contractor, so these issues will arise on occasion. I do care about my clients, and I do everything possible to make all matters clear with them ahead of time, as I did here."
