+ -1 moreThe installation went smoothly. The company was to do more work on other projects but for various reasons was unable to complete any of them. I sent a check to them for materials and the check was never cashed so I was able to recover those expenses. I just think that Mr Stewart has too much on his plate right now to recomend him. The work that was completed was done well though.

+ 0 moreIt went very well. There were various carpentry jobs, some complicated, and doing some oil base painting. He has also done numerous carpentry jobs at my home including hanging a door.
Description of Work: Steve has helped me with many projects over the years. The last job involved the remodeling of some space in my store. I don't recall what I paid as there were several days and several tasks but he was very fair.

+ 1 moreSteve examined the problem with the toilet and diagnosed it immediately. He fixed the problem and also adjusted the handle and chain so that it is now not leaking and it flushes easily. After looking at how the pair of doors lined up with the deadbolt, he made the appropriate adjustments so they would lock. He also adjusted the doors so they would open and close smoothly. With both of these problems, he fixed the problem and in addition went beyond the immediate issues to ensure that the toilet and doors were working as well overall as they were meant to perform.
Description of Work: Toilet tank had a leak and water was gradually draining out. The deadbolt locks on two sets of metal French doors did not work properly and doors closed with difficulty.

+ 1 moreOverall, this was a very smooth and stress free experience. Mr. Stewart came out in a very timely fashion to measure the job and speak to me about what I needed. The materials were brought to the job. He arrived at the scheduled time and performed the work. He did a great job and I was very pleased with his professionalism and quality of work. He took his time and made adjustments until it was perfect. Once the job was complete, I noticed the lines around the door were perfectly straight, unlike my old door. I am very happy with the work and I will certainly use him for all of future home repair/ remodeling needs.
Description of Work: Removed existing door and jamb and replaced with a new pre-hung unit. Also, assembled and installed high grade storm door and resealed an existing window.

+ -1 moreHe walked into a mess and took charge to do a quality transformation. He is attentive to detail--a perfectionist. Tiles are even/straight and paint follows the edges with no uneven lines. He uses quality materials and is adaptable by including my preferences or giving me suggestions about improvements that he has learned from his extensive years of experience. I'm proud of my "new" bathroom.
Description of Work: Due to mold/mildew from a water leak under the slab in the bathroom, he tore up the floor tile and tore out the walls. After the clean-up, he put up wallboard, wainscoting and plaster. He waterproofed the wainscoting and painted the walls. He installed a corner rounded shower (this was new because I got rid of the tub/shower and replaced it with the walk-in shower). He leveled the floor after the plumbers changed the drain--because I moved the sink and changed the direction of the toilet to accommodate the new shower. He laid new tile on the floor, connected new electrical wiring and reinstalled the sink and toilet. The bottom of the door needed to be trimmed to fit the new tile. He also fixed two other problems while he was here: 1) my kitchen fluorescent light didn't always light. He changed the ballast so it lights everytime now. 2) I purchased a new faucet for my kitchen sink and he installed it.
