I did rent an apartment. The manager , Wanda, is a friendly yet professional person. She corresponded with me quite a bit before and after moving in and answering my questions.
These apartments are a bit older but well kept and include a well maintained swimming pool. The complex is a good size (about 100 units) but not too big. The grounds are very nice overlooking the marshes and with old moss covered trees. Parking is adequate and pets are loved and welcomed. There are even doggie poop bags around the site for your convenience.
The individual units are GREAT! There is a washer and dryer in each unit and ceiling fans in living and bed rooms. There are a lot of nice little extras such as a water spray on the sink, numerous electrical outlets (almost on every wall and even the patio), walk in closet, and storage closet on the patio. The kitchen is big and a bit asymmetrical, which lends a charming touch. I rented an updated unit with a screened in patio which is perfect.
I hesitated to write this review when originally asked because I had some difficulty with the move in. The maintenance department was having a difficult time as the primary caretaker had a death in the family and some other critical issues. Because of this, the walk in was not completed and a lot of issues were needing attention.. (problems with the updated cabinets , the updated mirror in the bath, paint problems in a couple of places, nothing major. It was difficult to deal with at the time because of short staffing and with regular emergency needs for maintenance issues I was met with responses that indicated frustration with my minor issues when there were far more pressing problems needed to be attended to with a shortage of staff.
It has all been taken care of now, and I do believe this was just a case of situational problems and timing. Problems are quickly attended to now and there is adequate staffing in the maintenance. The office staff and the maintenance staff actually go the extra mile and even will accept package delivery if the resident is not at home at the time of delivery.
I am still here and loving it. It's an older (80's ish) apartment complex but so well-kept and with such exceptional thoughtful items, it feels like my little beach cottage and I couldn't be happier.
