We hired Glenn and his team for our backyard which badly needed design and landscaping. Glenn did an amazing job. My husband and I were so happy with his work, we decided to call him back to overhaul the front yard (which we had not planned to tackle just yet). Glenn is very honest and candid which we appreciated- while he will listen to what you want, he’s going to tell you if its not going to work. He’s extremely knowledgeable and is eager to share his knowledge with his customers. Glenn and is entire team were trustworthy and professional- I’d recommend him highly.

PERFECT! His team treats every plant and tree they touch with the utmost care so as not to damage them. Everything they do is by hand, no equipment was used to dig or lift anything! They take great pride in their work and it shows. In addition to their special soil, they fertilized and put down a herbicide also.

Glenn Tancreto is the owner and designer. Glenn was professional and extremely passionate about doing appropriate design for my upscale landscaping for both the front and back of my property. You would be hard pressed to find a more qualified and talented landscaper. He was not cheap, but worth every penny for the absolutely stunning design, the Sylvester trees, Sago Palms, Bottle brush & plants were all high quality. My property has rec'd multiple letters from the management company in my sub division thanking us for beautifying the neighborhood!!!

Excellent! The plan is clearly professional and the shrubs are beautiful. The owner visualized what was needed to enhance details like windows and hard scape. The plants chosen also compliment each other and they will be easier to maintain than the plants that the house developer had used previously. We are very pleased with the process and the results.

The project ran very smoothly. All we had to do is tell him what we liked, discuss some design options and then give him the check when all was done. I have very high standards for professionalism, and he exceeded my expectations.

They did a great job. The palm removal in the pool area planters was very difficult and tedious and his staff were very careful not to damage the planter area or the spa piping.

Glenn took thoughtful time to design landscape that was tied to the home. He made several visits to the home before presenting his ideas...thats just how a perfectionist he is. He always kept me informed of the progress and if any of his plans needed to be altered he was always in contact to ensure I was in agreement with his revised plans. He has a team of very hardworking and professional individuals who also have great talent for design. And even more exciting is the teamwork between Glenn and his team.

Glenn's work was outstanding. He was very thoughtful in working with us to preserve what we had that was good and to carefully replace what was bad. He is very creative and aims to find a coherent design theme that makes sense for the situation. This is even harder to do when there is a substantial existing investment to preserve, but he rose to the occasion and we are delighted with the results. We have worked with two other landscapers on Angies List that had good reviews and experienced mediocre results - I wish we had found Glenn when we first started our landscaping project, we would have saved time and money. Note that Glenn has his own nursery and his plants are of very high quality. This is an important criterion when choosing a landscaper, as it will keep costs down and plant replacements can be made quite easily should a new plant not transplant successfully. Glenn's crew is also adept at installing/modifying irrigation and lighting systems, should that be part of your project. We would recommend him and his team without reservation. BTW, he has a couple of negative reviews. I was surprised to see those and when I read them I realized that he did not perform work for any of those people. If they had given him a chance, I am sure they would have been delighted. Also, how cranky do you have to be to leave a negative review for someone you never even worked with?

“A year ago we lost a giant live oak tree in our front yard.  It had a hedge of azaleas around its base and it was the focal point …beautiful!  It took 5 months of looking at the gaping hole in our front yard, the lopsided landscape, overgrown shrubbery, and many “discussions” with my husband, before I reached out to Creative Designs Landscaping for help.

 

Glenn Tancreto, the owner, came to take a look at our yard.  We discussed what we thought we wanted to do, several options for types of plants that could be used, and our budget.  He walked off some measurements, made notes, and said he would get back to us with a plan.

 

Creative Designs provides landscape & hardscapes services, such as removal of old shrubbery & trees, and installation of the new ones. In addition, they provide installation of pavers for patios, walkways and driveways. They also plan & install low voltage lighting, and integrate irrigation systems into any new lawn layouts.

 

During our second meeting, Glenn put out flags to show where planting beds would be, where to lay new sod, and went over his suggestions for flowers, plants and trees.  He gave us an estimate to accomplish his plan.  He also gave us the option to do some of the work ourselves, thereby saving on labor. 

 

Once the contract was signed, a deposit given, we then set an approximate installation date.  When the time came, the flowering plants, shrubbery and trees were delivered.  Glenn positioned the main pieces, and his installation crew spent the next couple of days preparing the soil, and planting everything.  By the end of the week, we had a beautifully balanced landscape, a nice variety of plantings and a happy couple! 

 

Creative Designs Landscaping did a great job. They made a plan and executed it professionally.  We would highly recommend their services!

Glenn is extremely knowledgable and did a fantastic job. His vision is spot on and he executes flawlessly. Constantly communicated and could ask for anything better.

I have been following Creative Designs and Landscaping on Angie's List for almost three years. I was intrigued with the kudos to his creativity, but was a little apprehensive about contacting Glenn because  we live in a retirement community with very small lots and he seemed to deal mostly with large jobs. But he answered my email immediately and made an appointment for the next day (Saturday). He arrived on time and listened to our concerns and wishes. We did not like anything about the developer's choice of plants, wanted something softer and more casual looking, and ease of maintenance was important.. He was very enthusiastic and explained that it would be better to combine the looser plantings with more structured ones in order to set them off. He asked us to send him a list of the types of plants we liked.

The following Monday he showed up with an estimate and a complete listing of all the plants he suggested.
He suggested a specimen tree that we were unfamiliar with (weeping yaupon) but I told my husband the reviews all said to trust in Glenn. He won't let you pay him until you're 100% satisfied. After we approved the estimate, Glenn asked if we had to get HOA approval. We said "yes" and he said he'd be glad to sketch it out for us (previous reviews said he wouldn't do this because he wants to leave his options open as the design develops). He said the submitted plan would probably conform about 80% to the final result. 

I called to find out the deadline for submission for the next Friday architectural committee meeting. Glenn delivered the plan on Tuesday, a day early. We got the approval on Friday, with the caveat that no plantings could be closer than 3 ft. from the property lines or within the original planting beds, whichever was closer.
Glenn and his crew arrived early Monday morning. I heard him tell hes foreman, Jaime, not to enlarge the beds and that one of the new plants that he had placed should not be put into the ground until he could see it with the new plants already in place..

Jaime and his helper worked steadily all day Monday and Tuesday. In addition to planting, they also buried some of the sprinkler heads and made sure the irrigation was aimed properly for the new plantings. On Wednesday they programmed the irrigation to water daily while the plants were establishing, told me what I might need to do depending on the rain, and power washed the porch, walkway, and driveway. At Jaime's suggestion, the walk and driveway were resanded at no additional charge.

Glen came first thing every morning to check progress and make any adjustments he wanted. He and Jaime were very collaborative and I commented to him unnecessarily how fortunate he was to have such a crew.
All in all, we are thrilled with our new landscaping. It is distinctive, yet  natural looking and should be very easy to maintain. We've received many compliments from our neighbors. Our weeping yaupon is so archtectural we might have shopped for years to find it! When we get ready to have the rest of the property done, I wouldn't think of calling anyone else. Our 20 year old landscaping was not thriving under the shade of an oak tree.  We wanted a new design that was both attractive and shade tolerant.  I interviewed 3 landscaping contractors and Glenn had the best design at a competitive price.  He stood out front for quite a while looking at my home to come up with the perfect mix of plants to enhance the existing architecture, much like an artist gazing at his canvas.  Another reason I chose Glenn is that he has his own nursery and included plants in my design that had been growing in a shade house for several years.  His 2 man crew arrived early each day and exhibited a work ethic which surpassed anything I may have hoped for.  Every day they cleaned up leaves and pollen from the oak tree that had blanketed my driveway, which was above and beyond what was expected.  Glenn added 2 additional men one morning to plant a 100 gallon N.R. Stevens holly...the crown jewel.  My upgraded irrigation now covers my entire yard which should improve the dry patches in the sod out back.  We are happy with the new look and have received many compliments from neighbors.  I would recommend Glenn in a heartbeat!

I called Glenn and explained what I wanted and he came right out and looked over the situation and told me what I needed to do.  I have been in this house for 8 years. I had the house built ant the builder did the landscaping to match all other landscaping in the community.  It had been very attractive but after 8 years the shrubs were no longer very attractive.  Replacing was the only option.  I called another landscaper that was recommended to me and the person that came to give the estimate expected me to tell him what I wanted and really wasn't that helpful and I felt that their estimate was too high.  So I remembered to go to Angie's List and that is where I found Creative Designs.  Glenn has his own plant nursery and knows which plants were best for my situation and which ones would be easy maintenance.  I just had to trust his judgment since I know nothing about plants or design.  He has a fantastic crew that came in and did the job in about 5 hours. They even did more than they were asked to do by going all around my house and put fertilizer and fungicide on all other plants and put down pine straw.  They even closed up an Armadillo hole with rocks and pounded them in.  I don't think I will ever see that Armadillo again.   Everything looks great. 

They definitely were very thorough and very experienced.  They knew what they were doing.

I could not have asked for a better experience.  All the preplanning was taken care of (utility marking, drawings for the HOA board) and Glens crew arrived promptly as scheduled.  The gentlemen who work for Glen are professional in their demeanor, knowledgeable about the work, and take pride in a job well done.  I had several large specimens installed (two were in 100 gallon
containers).  Everything was moved by hand with no damage to the lawn or the plants being installed. All the plantings were large and healthy.  The crew amended the soil with fertilizers and fungicides for the planting beds and also fertilized the lawn since I hadn't gotten around do doing that yet myself. They also amended the existing irrigation system to provide for the new plantings and worked on providing better drainage in a few spots.  Glen has his own nursery so he knows that what he is bringing into the yard is healthy and well cared for. The crew cleaned up the yard when they were done and set my irrigation system up to water the new beds. I LOVE my new yard!!  Its only been in for a day and already I am being visited by hummingbirds and butterflies.  And last but not least, I felt the price was very fair for the service provided.

What a team! They came in and removed old, overgrown bushes and trees and replaced everything with new plants.  I put my confidence and trust in Glenn and he delivered.  The new landscaping really features and compliments the house, as it should.  They worked on two houses and both look fabulous! They were prompt, hardworking and talented on a  daily basis. I plan on hiring Glenn back when I am ready to do the back yard. 

This is an update to a review we posted in 2012. Glenn Tancreto continues to outdo himself in terms of responsiveness, service, creativity, and performance. We have been dealing with him for nearly 14 years and regard him as one of the best service providers we have EVER dealt with. We direct you to our September 11, 2012 review for additional information. We have the following to add:
Glenn continues to amaze us with the advice he provides, without our asking. For example, based on his research he recommended an annual we had never heard of before. He suggested this particular plant not only for the beauty of its flowers but also because deer, which roam our neighborhood at night, don?t like it. The stunning flowers he chose are flourishing. Glenn stops by frequently to check on our yard and recommends follow-up where appropriate, e.g., if the hedges suffer from over-watering or fungus. He hired a chemical consultant to advise him on pest control issues and has located treatments for problems that a pest control company told us were untreatable. And we know Glenn has spent hours doing research and chasing down hard-to-find ornamentals.
We also can?t say enough nice things about Glenn?s crew, which, along with Glenn, take a tremendous amount of pride in their work. They are incredibly knowledgeable, conscientious, and hard-working. Because they are so efficient, they frequently finish the jobs they do for us faster than what Glenn has estimated.
Finally, we feel compelled to mention Glenn?s wonderful sense of humor; we always look forward to talking with him when he stops by to check on things.

This was my second experience working with Glenn for a project for my home.  I was extremely satisfied with the work he and his team performed landscaping my front yard, so I didn't have any second thoughts about who it was I wanted to beautify my back yard as well.  I had just installed a concrete patio and as a result there was some damage to my lawn.  Additionally, the patio was somewhat plain, leaving the yard in desperate need of attention. 
After calling Glenn for a design and a quote, he promptly called me back the next day.  Although he was headed out of town he assured me that he would contact me immediately upon his return.  He did so, and made it out to to my home several days later.  Once there, Glenn started working his magic!  He asked me for some details of what I wanted and then proceeded to detail his vision for my backyard space.   He explained that his goal was to tie the work in the back yard to the landscaping that had been completed in the front yard to give the property a cohesive look.  He also wanted to wrap the patio in a "blanket of landscaping".  Initially, I had not planned on installing landscape lighting on this project until a later date, however, I was sold when Glenn described how it all fit into his vision.  
I agreed to have the work completed, and gave him a deadline that I wanted to meet in order to host a party at my home.  He agreed that he could meet the deadline and committed to start the project within two weeks.  Not only did the project start on time as Glenn committed, but the work was completed a day early and not for a penny more than what he quoted.  He even threw in an additional landscape light because he thought it suited his design better without charging me an additional cent.  The end result is absolutely beautiful!   My yard has been transformed into a complete escape after a hard day's work.  The crew that worked in my yard was courteous, professional and meticulous.  If you are looking for a landscaper to simply execute a design you have, perhaps they may suffice, but Glenn offers so much more.  He has a passion and energy for his work, as well as a keen eye for design.  My family couldn't be happier with the end result!

Within 2 weeks of giving me an estimate for the work, the job was completed and is absolutely beautiful. I was initially hesitant when Glenn Tancreto, owner of  Creative Designs & Landscaping, told me the yard would look great with no grass. He presented his plan for landscaping the areas with plants, shrubs and pine straw. Although I was still not 100% sold on the idea, I had used Creative Designs to work a miracle on a portion of my back yard several years ago. So, I trusted that the front and back yards would look great just as Glenn told me. He was right - I am thrilled with the outcome and all of my neighbors have complimented me on how great my yard looks. Glenn is truly creative in his designs and knows what he is doing. His crew is very efficient, thorough and clean up the work area after the work is completed.

We consulted with Glen for an estimate to relandscape our backyard pool area to make it more tropical. After coming and surveying the area, Glen proposed a plan that would combine formal and tropical for the price of $4000. Glen explained that he did not provide a written estimate or a written plan but that he would not accept payment unless we were completely satisfied with the completed work. He shared his detailed vision and even returned to discuss it with my husband a few days later. Glen has a passion for what he does and does see things that the average person would not notice. 
We decided to accept Glen's proposal and contract him for the work. Glen did a good job of keeping me informed of start dates and time expectations. Although he changed the original plan somewhat and added additional plants that he did not anticipate, he did not waiver from his original estimate. The backyard is really beautiful and we are pleased with the results. 
Glen spent time with us afterwards explaining care instructions and giving my husband pointers for doing some additional work in the rest of the backyard. Glen was a pleasure to work with. He did a great job. His crew was professional and respectful and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I would not hesitate to hire Glen again.
