Personal Touch Contracting

DO NOT use Personal Touch Contracting. My master bathroom remodel took 9 weeks to be completed after Jeff stated it was a 4-week project. There was no “personal touch” to their services. Communication was minimal, details were overlooked frequently and had to be brought to Jeff’s attention and overall, the quality of work was lacking. My husband and I decided to fix the final painting issues (horrible texture job on the wall and a small hole in the wall behind the toilet) ourselves rather than have anyone from this company return to do the work. Jeff had to be pressed to accept any responsibility for the many wrong turns in this job. He allowed hundreds of dollars of materials to be ordered that were not needed, although once really confronted with this case, he did admit he did not review the invoice from the tile company before I made the purchase and offered to pay for the overages. He also approved a tub filler to be ordered which did not work in the space and cost several days of the project time waiting for the correct filler to be ordered and arrive. I cannot stress enough, there are many contracting companies out there, please make a better choice then I did and do not use Personal Touch Contracting.

80 percent went splendidly, 20 percent ended up costing me a bundle and a littany of excuses from Jeff and his merry band. Look, im not new on the block, and I do know a bit about renovations, contractors, the COVID environment, and houses... but in the end, I learned not to trust anyone in this market. 1 Stop Cabinets was the cabinet vendor. In my opinion, run the other direction if you have to deal with them. First, despite 3 sets of measurements of kitchen, with Jeff and his cabinet specialist present, they got the order completely wrong. Cabinets that arrived were not what was specified as far a size and configuration. Specified double oven was being installed. Provided model and cutout dimensions. What arrived was for a single oven. Ordered 36 inch cabinets, got a bunch of 19 and 21 cabinets that I didnt order. Specs didnt meet deliverables. Explain that one... Then his workers were only working 1/2 days, 10 till 2. Jeff was triple tasking sending them off to other sites. Missed deadline on rehab by 30 plus days. Could have been done 15 days early... poor planning. Covid was excuses given, but they werent at home sick as he claimed. Fact was he had them working in other locations. Cabinets were overpriced and late, despite order from his supplier going in 3 months early. Parts for mixer lifts, pull outs were not even ordered till i inquired 5 times. Then found out they missed that too. More excuses as to why. Put in drains in floor for sink in wrong location. Had to be relocated. Charged 750 bucks for an electrical permit that according to Winter Gardens own site was about 200. Original excuse was city charged fee and it was expensive. His glass shower wall vendor (Emergency Glass Service) was basically a take it or leave it attitude when it came time for his work, which as called in late in the project. Shows up, looks at it and basically says, well you can always get someone else, aint budging on his price. He was a week behind on delivering his wares, and then the mount cleat was wrong for the glass door. He fixed it at my insistence... oh and asked for a recommendation after he delivered... are you kidding me? Yep, and the electrician used for the work couldnt even get wiring right. Called back on 3 occasions. Real professional team... Garbage disposal leaked. Never fixed problem. Claimed 4 bedroom ceilings were painted, 2 actually were. Quality was ok for final work except for cabinets, but hard to nail down on final price till after work was underway. Countertops were way overpriced for quality provided, again nebulous reasons why they couldnt calculate an indicative price. His guesstimate was 4k different from final pricing. Blemishes on cabinet tops. Vendor used sealant to disguise them, but appeared shortly after install. I should have just gone to IKEA and had them fabricate some instead of paying for this supposedly high end granite, which is so so. After arguing back and forth i accepted an adjustment for the bad cabinet order just to get him out of my hair. Word to others. Get everything in writing and in standard contract and dont let him do any work before you have that. Lesson learned. The actual flooring work was great. The cabinets and project management sucked. The quality for what I got was mediocre. I feel he has a long trail of this kind of thing going on with other customers in the past and future. Karma has a way of settling things for those who do these things to people. A read bad taste in my mouth on this project. Could have been much much better if he just kept on task instead of giving excuses along the way. For someone that constantly harps about his 29 years of experience, I have reason to doubt the experience at all after this. Who is the customer? Who is the contractor? Can you rely on his expertise? Would I trust him again? Nope. Thats my opinion.

Jeff’s men did a fantastic job. His men were reliable, conscientious and punctual. They were meticulous in their work. The floor looks wonderful. This is the second time I used Personal Touch. Last year they remodeled my kitchen, which entailed removing a wall, moving electric wiring, and plumbing, replacing cabinets, and laying porcelain tiles. The floor they did this year adjoins the remodeled kitchen area from last year. I would recommend Jeff’s company to anyone. He, himself, is on the job site at least every other day, and days when he is not, he checks in a couple of times a day to assure that all is going well.

Personal Touch was fantastic! We have a small bathroom in an older home with some quirky features. We had hoped to save the original tile, but there was a mold issue which resulted in the bathroom being gutted. Jeff and his crew knew this wasn’t our first choice and- not only did they do an amazing job transforming this bathroom- they were also very mindful and compassionate as we dealt with a larger scope and budget than we had originally planned. This little bathroom is now my favorite room in the house!

The renovations went great and we are very happy with the finished product. There was constant communication throughout the process so we knew if there were issues, delays and who was going to be at our house. Highly recommend.

Jeff and Team were great. Jeff walked me through each step and always responded to me in a timely manner. The house looks the best it ever has.

I hired this company to do a bathroom add on, and they did a great job. Very fast, punctual, and very clean.

Hired them to come and redo my master bath. It was extremely outdated and I wanted the tub out, floors redone, cabinets and countertops. They redid everything for me and I only had to tell them what I wanted once and they made it happen and very quickly. My bathroom looks great will use them again for my other bathroom and kitchen remodel next.

Work was done in a timely and professional manner. Jeff was very knowledgeable and professional. He really took the time to listen to my ideas and concerns. I would highly recommend him.

I love this company they are extremely friendly and very punctual on time. I love the way the employees handled them self's they did a great job on my tile and kitchen cabinets. I will definitely recommend them to a friend if I ever need anything done this company will be my first choice.

Everything went great and would highly recommend them!

Overall going well. This is our first major renovation so we’ve learned projects go beyond the initial timeline. We added some work and also ran into an issue with not being able to remove a wall due it being load bearing and due to piping so had to rework our design. The team is punctual and does quality work. The owner Jeff is honest and fair. This is the second time we’ve worked with Personal Touch. We love our new space. Will come back and add photos.

They listened to exactly what I wanted and helped me besides on a few features I didn’t even think about. I wanted my cabinets repainted they came out absolutely beautiful you couldn’t even tell that they have been redone. They also tiled my back splash and flooring which can out amazing. My kitchen turned out amazing and I love it.

They were great , they explained every step of the work and they help me pick the best option for what I wanted to be done. Very clean and respectful of my property. And did the job on time.

Everything went pretty good. He was reliable, he did what he said what he gonna, he took care of what he should gonna do and that was fair. Price was fair.
