Central A/C - Service or Repair
I?ve been using this company for a few years, and up until now, everything seemed fine. But when I really needed their help, they completely let me down.
Five months ago, they repaired a leak in my AC and told me everything was fixed. Last month, the AC started acting up again. They came back, said there was no leak, and told me the system just needed a little more gas. They filled it and left. Less than a week later, the AC stopped cooling completely.
Since then, I?ve been reaching out nonstop. It?s been two with no AC in my home, and I have little kids in this heat. They?ve read my messages but will not respond to my calls or texts. I trusted this company for years, but now I feel abandoned after paying them for a repair that clearly wasn?t resolved.
This review is simply to warn others: the company may seem reliable at first, but when you truly need them, they are not there for you.

Libby Twins had two contractors licensed in different areas. The Contractor for our area died without pulling a permit. Remaining contractor never did get licensed for our area and never did deal adequately/correctly with real problems! Two young guys were called in to complete installation originally. The breaker in our panel was not adequate for the unit installed - breaker- kept flipping off. We called electrician who told us not to keep flipping breaker on because of fire risk - we called Libby Twins who sent a tech to exchange 40 breaker to a 60 breaker - no electrician. We contacted Libby Twins numerous times but no permit(s) in almost a year - We called another licensed contractor who inspected unit - It is not up to code! We were advised by city of Altamonte Springs to report Libby Twins to Tallahassee and find another contractor to inspect and pull permit. So far, we have just called a contractor and an electrician. It will be expensive to bring this unit up to code and get/close permit(s).

the repair went well and the system has worked well for over 5 years, however, we are now trying to sell our house and in the closing process have discovered that the work permit was never closed. I called the company 10 days ago and they were able to find the record and admit that the permit was not closed but they would take care of it and get back to me. I have called almost every day and they are being totally unresponsive. This will probably delay the closing our the house and cost me additional money to resolve. We had one other contractor that the same issue happened and they have handled everything expeditiously and incurred all the costs necessary.

Libby Twins & they are actually twins. We are having trouble with such company. It was last Summer, August, 80 degrees in the house. It immediately, as a matter of fact they were joking about it, that the check on the air conditioning unit hit on the very first day that the thing broke down. In other words, the air conditioner broke down on the same day that my check for the unit hit. They thought that was funny and I did not.
It was 80 degrees in the house and we were dying! It took them three days to do anything about it. It was the biggest mess that you can imagine. It was an ?F? all the way down. They didn?t show up. The manager was not a manager, he was helpless, little person who had no idea what he was going to do about the situation. It was terrible! I couldn?t go anywhere else, because they had all warranty. Let?s say it was 3 days from installation that it broke down.

I need to update my review from my first one, of which I gave an F rating. In fact due to my frustration I was unfair in what I gave.
Due to miss communications between us and the workers not being able to accurately use the English language which lead to many problems. Since then, the Owner has corrected the problem so that he will be sure that his customers are getting the very best in dealing with whatever the problem is.
I know the Owner and he is in fact a friend of mine, but business is business. I try very hard not to let our friendship interfere with my expectations when it comes to work.
So please believe me when I say that I'm unable to give any higher praise to Bill at Libby Twins Air. He took possession of the problem and found the solution. It is very unusual, if not impossible to find an honest person who will work with a customer who has in the past given a bad review. Bill and his company is of that high caliber! Bill is the new owner of Libby Twins and the standards that he has set for, not only his employees, but also for himself is a standard that will serve him well.
Bill will and has gone out of way in order to make sure that we as consumers are getting the best that he and his company has to offer. I am so very happy that I did not give up on Libby Twins and that they did not give up on me! So if you are truly looking for a company that you can trust and is honest in their dealings with fair and reasonable pricing, then you need to call Libby Twins A/C.

They put in the 1st unit. I wanted to replace it with what I had already. They were supposed to replace the heat pump. They put in an A/C only. When the renters went to turn the heat on, there was no heat. They didn't do the follow up like they were supposed to. They did not put in the heat strip until I called them. I said that they did not do what they were supposed to or what we agreed on. They said that they would make it right, but I'm still waiting.

I needed to replace my HVAC unit two years ago and secured several bids. Libby Twins had the best bid and recommendations. They were patient and explained all of the details for me. They performed the work extremely well, in a timely manner and were highly professional. This fall, they came and did routine service on both of my HVAC units. I was impressed with how thorough they were and how professional their service was. I will continue to use Libby Twins and would highly recommend them to others.

All went well. Libby Twins arrived with 4 workers. Removed our 15 year old unit and installed replacement. Installation took approx 5 hours total. The crew was professional, polite and cleaned up well after all work was complete. We have used Libby Twins for over 15 years and have always been happy with their quick response to any of our air cond/ hearing needs.

Libby has excellent customer service but they are often booked & busy. No wonder with the excellent work they do. Of the various companies I have hired- Libby has by far been the best! Will continue to use them.

The replaced the air handler coils. As it turns out, this was not the problem. They grumbled about the unit being a Trane. I don't believe they were Trane dealers. The work they did on the air handler was fine. However, the problem turned out to be in the compressor.

A technician arrived the same day as called. He inspected the old unit and reported that the compressor is dead. The unit was 16 years old. Their quote was timely and complete. We had another company quote. The prices were similar. However, the second company couldn't be reached immediately to answer questions. Made me wonder what would happen if I had an emergency in the future. I called Libby Twins and they were able to start the next day. The system was installed, the work area was cleaned and crew that was sent were very friendly and knowledgeable. I will not hesitate to use Libby Twins in the future.

Libby Twins has done repair and maintenance on my air conditioner/furnace for 25 years. They are very dependable and honest. When I recently needed to replace the entire unit, Libby Twins was the first contractor I called. Due to the cost involved, I obtained two other estimates as well - both of which were significantly higher for the same unit. In addition, Libby Twins was aware of an additional manufacturer rebate which the other two contractors either did not know about or failed to mention. The unit was installed promptly and has worked great since.

A crew of three showed up at 9am and replaced both inside and outside units and were finished by 3pm. They did an excellent installation job, cleaned up afterwords and even made a play house out of the empty cardboard air conditioning boxes for my grand kids. All in all, it was a very good experience. Highly recommended.

My family and I have used Libby Twins before and always been happy. On this occasion, my air stopped blowing cold and they came out, replaced parts, cleaned things up, and also suggested other things that I should get done at my earliest convenience.
