I feel entitled to rate this business because this is the business he did not reveal he was when NOR THE ONE MY CONTRACT AND PROPOSAL INDICATED I SIGNED AS DOING BUSINESS AS TROPICSCAPES WHICH NO LONGER EXIST. TAYLOR M. HARDIN CLAIMED TO OWN TROPICSCAPES BUT NEVER DID. BUYER BEWARE! THEY ARE STILL OPERATING UNDER DIFFERENT FICTITIOUS NAMES IN THE SAME INDUSTRY. THE OWNERSHIP HAD CHANGED A FACT THEY FAIL TO REVEAL UNTIL I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SUB-STANDARD WORK THAT WAS NOT DONE AS PROPOSED. THEY CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN DECEPTIVE INFORMATION ON THEIR TROPICSCAPES.NET WEBSITE, AND OPERATED THAT WAY FOR OVER 9 MO. INFORMATION FROM THE PRIOR OWNER TROY GORDON, OLD LICENSE INFORMATION AND ASSERTIONS OF BEING LICENSED BONDED AND INSURED WHICH YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO VERIFY. THIS INDUSTRY IS TOTALLY UNREGULATED ACCORDING TO THE DEPT OF AGRICULTURE, DIV OF CONS. PROTECTION. I REPORTED THIS TO THE FL. DEPT OF CONSUMER PROTECTION AND FL DIVISION OF CORPORATIONS WHEN HARDIN’S ATTORNEY THROUGH DOCUMENTATION REQUESTED BY THE DIV OF CONSUMER PROTECTION, FINALLY REVEALED IT. NOTHING WAS DONE. SO MUCH FOR PROTECTING THE CONSUMER! HIS BANK, BOA, EVEN PERMITTED HIM TO ILLEGALLY DEPOSIT CHECKS WRITTEN TO TROPICSCAPES, WITHOUT PROOF OF OWNERSHIP OF TROPICSCAPES, INTO HIS OTHER UNRELATED LAWN BUSINESS ACCOUNT, OASIS PALMS AND LANDSCAPING. THE THREE, T MACK HARDIN, TROY GORDON, AND MAC GARNER CONSPIRED TO DEFRAUD CONSUMERS. IF YOU COME ACROSS ANY BUSINESS WITH EITHER OF THESE THREE NAMES, I SUGGEST YOU CONDUCT YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

Unfortunately, I was unable to enlist their services...but they were my #1 pick, and were extremely professional, and followed up excellently!

We explained to Taylor what we were looking for, he went to his truck to crunch numbers, then returned with an estimate that was out of our budget ($4300, and didn't include irrigation as he subs this part of the job to another company). We proposed removing some of the plants he suggested, not pulling out a couple trees, and we ultimately agreed on a price ($2500). This agreement was based on a handshake as he didn't provide any written estimate or contract. He said the irrigation guy would be out within a week, and his crew would be here in 3 weeks for landscaping and sod. After a week and a half, I called and left a voicemail on Taylor's cell to understand when the irrigation would be done. With no response after 2 days, I called again and left another voicemail and still haven't heard a word from him. Looking back, I'm sure he had zero intention of ever coming back to do the work but wasn't man enough to admit it was probably over his head. Completely unprofessional to flake out the way he did, leaving a howeowner waiting weeks with an expectation he would keep to his word. Fortunately, I was able to find another company fairly quickly, and due to their professionalism, we agreed on an estimate much higher than $2500.

He made the appointment and did NOT show!  Nor did he call!
