Al the details: my husband and I have done all our yard work for 48 years and our home was spectacular. I loved working in the perenniels and flowering trees. Moving to Florida was exciting with all the exotic species to work with: BUT after 13 years, volunteering left little time to work in the yard, and growing OLDER, we tried another avenue to keep our home looking great. We hired Big Leaf to clean up, trim, weed, feed and actually plant new flowers and bushes. He and his team came out for two days in a row (4 workers) and cleaned up all bushes, flowers, weeds and small trees. They were meticulous, courteous, and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. I have further left him in charge of mowing for the past 5 months. We have done a lot of traveling, so it was great to come home to a lovely trimmed and fertilized yard. Plants are blooming that I haven't seen in three years. We highly recommend Steve and his staff for the prompt meticulous service. The service was very bad, They cut down the branches of a palm tree and it fell on my fence and cracked it. Then instead of taking all the branches they threw them over the fence into the other yard. They also broke 2 of my sprinklers from my lawn and edged so far back that when it rained it caused it to turn into a river. If I asked them to do something one way they would do it the complete opposite. They were not very professional and I would never recommend them to anyone!

"I am sorry to see this type of review. This was a homeowner that had been with us for more than two years. The palm trimming job being referenced was at the neighbors house in which we were referred to by the homeowner that posted the review. This was a very large 30'+ Queen palm in a very tight space. One of the seed pods fell from the tree and did crack two boards on the fence which we repaired immediately at no charge to the customer. The customer was understanding and grateful. The two sprinklers mentioned in the post were also repaired free of charge before the next watering day. One had just came unscrewed and one was ran over by a vehicle in the corner of the drive way. Before hiring us in 2011, the customer had serviced her own lawn. The edging was already very wide when we took over which I had explained to the homeowner was a liability to bicyclist. The erosion from the wide edge was already taking place and got worse over time. I replaced the sod in this area for her free of charge. We always addressed all her concerns immediately and free of charge. I truly believe that the above post stems from the fact that we had to stop trimming the top of her oak tree in the easement. I explained that we were stopped by hillsborough county and threatened to be fined as this is against county code. The homeowner would still repeatedly ask us to trim the top of Oak leaving messages for us weekly but we had to decline. We did maintain the sides and bottom of tree but could not do the top. If we could have done it for her we definitely would have. We try to bring quality service every visit and if our customers ever bring a concern we address it immediately and make it right. It is ongoing. They give effort but they sliced into the trees with the edger and still leave the gate open.

The workers only asked for some water that day, which I was pleased to offer. My husband and I left them while we went to lunch. Trusted them fully. They close trimmed all the bushes, pruned down trees away from the house. weeded flowers and cut back vines and cut down some dead bushes and a acasia tree that was half dead. They hauled away all debris on the long trailer. They provided all their tools. Yard looks nice and ready for winter and spring new growth.

Fantastic! We were not too happy with the previous landscaping company we had and needed to start over. Steve and I sat down to look at pictures of our likes & dislikes and provided a proposal with several (but not too many) choices of foliage to use in our new landscape. He listened to what was important to us. He brought over a tree that ended up being too big for the space, so he took it back that day and got one that fit. He brought in a company to do poured concrete boarders and walked that vendor through the process for us. He worked within our budget and gave us a really, really great finished product - completely turnkey. We like the company so much, we hired them to maintain our lawn.
