I sent in a request for service via their website at hvacdesigns.net Tina Neace got back with me promptly and said she would not be able to start work on the calculation that week. No problem for me at all - I appreciated the honesty and told her I wasn't in a rush. She offered me the option of providing her the necessary data, or she could drive down and take the measurements she needed. I opted to provide her the data since I thought we had a lot of it handy. We didn't have as much as I thought, so we measured and added information and took pictures. She took a lot of time to make sure she understood our home's particulars and I think that's great instead of a lot of guesswork. Tina and I communicated via email, which works really well for me and for all the data. I told her our house has some interesting HVAC features, so she completed the Manual J two ways. When she was done, she sent me a summary, I paid the fee, and she sent me the entire report. I told her I was having a lot of issues which I needed help with - could she recommend a company? She told me to call her, even after hours, so she could discuss my concerns. She listened and advised and said there were people at companies that could help me. Wow. I have had companies stop returning my calls and she assured me that some people enjoy a challenge. The company she recommended came out and said their company utilizes her calculation services as well, and told me how great her work / her company's work is. It's been a refreshing experience working with her. The Manual J she did gives me a great comparison point that tells me that the sizing of the unit we have is an issue, and will also be a great reference for sizing when we replace it.
